I have returned home after our stay at the Cottage, and I can still see in my mind's eye--and miss!--the vista that for our three-day stay surrounded us. The water--its movement and sound, the sun reflecting from it; the marsh grasses and wind; the osprey building their nest nearby; the nesting swans on a distant small island; the changing clouds. I brought projects to work on, but all I wanted to do is ponder and gaze! And did I mention the sunrises? Wow. The design of the cottage brings the outdoors in, with its walls of windows. But we were outside a lot--on the small beach and on the dock and on the delightful patio, which gave us even more sense of place. We delighted in our forays to White Stone (the bakery! the farm market! the antique store!) and to Kilmarnock (Pearl boutique, the Car Wash Cafe)--but we prepared our evening meals "in" so as to be near the view. A place very hard to leave. Thank you, Marjorie and Parke for sharing this space.

The house was everything we needed and more. And Irvington in October is absolutely amazing. We had a wonderful weekend and really appreciated Suzanne’s responsiveness and hospitality - we will be back!

Sadia’s home on the river is a beautiful home in a very private and serene location. The house has been beautifully renovated for today’s comforts but it oozes with historical charm. The bedrooms worked out well for our needs for 5 adults. The house had a large kitchen for gathering, a cozy den for board games, a screened in back porch, and a lovely dock to sit by the water. We also enjoyed the fire pit while taking in the amazing stars. It really is such a special location. Kilmarnock is not too far away and offers shops snd restaurants but be aware that most businesses are closed on Sunday so do your town exploring on Saturday. We did run into a major plumbing issue upon our arrival. Sadia was extremely responsive and had a contractor at the house within an hour. Unfortunately the issue was not easily resolvable during our stay so we had limited water usage. Sadia was very easy to work with and we received a credit for our stay. It is truly a lovely home with a wonderful host.

Wonderful stay! The screened porch provides a great, relaxing spot with a view! Gia was very communicative and provided a great experience!

We love the salty captain! Very family friendly, walkable to the beach at the tides and other fun spots in Irvington very comfortable! Highly recommend.

Beautiful house and property. Homeowners were very responsive with questions we had and we will definitely be back!
