Had a lovely stay. Easy self check in and some goodies to welcome us much appreciated. Very quiet location just 5 minute level walk to centre of Bakewell. Quite a few stairs in property but this was expected and not a problem for us. Pamela always very responsive, helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again and recommend.

Melanie's property is beautiful. It's lovely and big yet feels cosy and homely. I wish we were able to stay for longer. It would be a lovely base for a family holiday.

We had the most wonderful time at Fox Cottage, we only booked for 4 nights which wasn't long enough. The views and walks from the house are amazing. If you come with dogs there is an enclosed dog field which is so easy and lovely to walk around in the morning. Everything felt high end and thought through, not just visually but Andy & Gina have really thought about how to make your stay enjoyable. Little touches such as more than 1 dishwasher tablet and toilet roll, there was kitchen roll and cling film even a whole dog basket from poo bags, leads to treats. Our car broke down whilst there and had to be towed back to Surrey, Andy very kindly drove me to Chesterfield to collect a hire car which he really didn't need to do but we were so grateful that he did. Lovely cosy cottage Lovely sitting area in the garden with fabulous views. Everything we needed was there! Local shop and pubs within walking distance of about 5 minutes.

Our stay at the Swiss Cottage was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the breathtaking views surrounding the property, truly unmatched in their beauty. Glenys has thoughtfully provided everything one could possibly need for a comfortable and seamless stay, making it feel like a home away from home. I had the pleasure of staying here with my friends, and it proved to be the perfect retreat for our girls’ trip. The fully equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare our morning teas and coffees effortlessly, adding to the convenience and coziness of our experience. The location is also fantastic just a short walk down the hill, we found a wonderful selection of restaurants, pubs, and cafés, making it easy to explore and enjoy the local charm. Without a doubt, this has been one of our most memorable stays, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book the Swiss Cottage again on our next visit to Matlock. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely stay at Ruth's cottage, we felt really welcome and at home. Ruth had lots of information about local walks, pubs, restaurants etc and was really responsive to messages. We stayed over Christmas and Ruth had decorated the cottage with Christmas decorations which was a really lovely added touch. We had a fantastic break and would definitely stay again.

Lakeview is a dreamy location, in a small Derbyshire village overlooking Carsington Water. It is a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the beautiful countryside. Pamela was super helpful, always replying immediately. She was really friendly but not obtrusive. So privacy and peace and quiet was just as I had hoped! The cottage is well equipped and finished to a high standard. I particularly enjoyed the nightly log fires abd felt right at home. I am very much looking forward to a return visit soon!

Me & my boyfriend stayed for 2 nights, abigail was so helpful when recommending place to see/eat. I honestly couldnt fault the hut, it was so clean, no clutter and just all round beautiful. So peaceful we dropped on with the weather too it was lovely & sunny, we sat outside on the bench & in the hot tub. I would 100% recommend bookong and we will 100% be back very soon! A great short stay at this lovely cottage. Fantastic views and a cosy feel. Location was very convenient in the village very near to the fabulous pub and lovely walks. The cottage was very well equipped with everything needed.
