Wow!! What a fantastic adventure it was. Our 3 kids were in tears leaving (12, 11 and 9). The friendships made with the other kids will have a lifetime impact on my kids. Special mention to 12 year old Mo, who we wish we could bring home with us!! What a treasure he and the other kids in the village are. Our kids even spent a day at the school. Pa is nothing other than a true gentleman, who is a true master of his domain on this island and the life he leads there. Think of it has having a 24hr personal guide. You will never get that in a resort! The location of the island is nothing other than spectacular. The house is beautiful. It’s set back from the beach and it’s a small trek, but it’s in a beautiful little lush space surrounded with Pa’s family. To get the most out of this adventure, you need to immerse yourself into the family and the island life. Don’t sit back like you’re in a resort. We will definitely be going back.

This place is absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Taveuni. Jay is an incredible host who went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. The property has a beautiful yard filled with fruit trees and a lovely garden. Plus, it’s right across the street from the ocean, offering excellent snorkeling opportunities. Jay recommended renting a car from Ajay, which allowed us to explore the island, and Ajay was great to work with. When we asked about visiting the small island in front of the house, Jay immediately found a friend to take us out by boat. While kayaking is an option, a sore shoulder made the boat a better choice for us—plus, we were lucky enough to see dolphins on the way! The snorkeling there was absolutely incredibl The Airbnb itself felt like home—super clean and equipped with everything we needed. There are great little markets on either side, and right next door, you’ll find delicious smoothies and ice cream. We can’t wait to return.

Lyn and Sete's place is amazing! The hosts are the most genuine, warm and kind hearted people i ever had the pleasure to meet! Their hospitality is top notch and they made me feel so welcome and at home. It felt like visiting good friends! I really enjoyed our many talks sitting out on the verandah and learnt a lot about what life is like in Fiji. Communication before arrival was excellent and Lyn informed me about everything I needed to know, from pick up to activities and the place itself. Everything was as described and better! The meals were delicious. This homestay is a true gem surrounded by magnificent, lush scenery and comes with it's own private beach! It's a nature lover's paradise and the best choice for someone who would like to detach and leave all the technology behind, enjoy the sound of the waves and many birds, explore the lush jungle or go snorkeling from the beautiful beach! Lyn & Sete are true super hosts! Thank you both for having me and hope to see you soon!

Jima's place exceeded our expectations on so many levels. While this homestay is nestled in a remote Fijian village setting powered by solar and generator, the family does a remarkable job of accommodating their guests. The home is rustic, but we were very comfortable. We are divers, and Sia and her family helped us with our laundry and gear, never seeming to mind all of our things drying on the porch. They also coordinated our transportation allowing for stops in town to shop anytime we needed anything. We felt like part of the family and part of the village. Sia's cooking is out of this world! Hands down better than any of the meals we had during our resort stay. Sublime green papaya curry!!! Walking down to the water each morning for the sunrise after hearing the drumbeats calling the village to prayer is an unforgettable experience, unlike any I have ever had. I'm so grateful for our time at Jima's. We learned so much and made connections that will last our lifetimes. Amazing!

I had an amazing 4 days staying with Sarah, Sam, and their family. From the moment Sarah met me at the airport, I felt at ease and for 4 far too short days, it felt like home. From eating mangos under the mango tree to conversations and relaxing on the porch with the ocean views, I couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Sarah and Sam were able to provide great recommendations on things to do and had the contacts to be able to help book things and Sam was a great guide. The provided breakfasts were delicious and I could eat buckets of Sarah's homemade muesli. I also made the very correct decision to join them for dinners which were fantastic and even got to help make the roti one night (thank you for the lesson Nini!) By the end of my stay i was so stuffed from all the amazing food I could barely eat anymore. If I'm ever back in Taveuni, I will absolutely stay here again. Vinaka vakalevu! I will miss you all!

Coconut Grove was an amazing resort to stay at. The incredibly friendly (and multi-talented) staff together with having just a few rooms to take care of gives a really boutique feel to the whole experience. The staff are so helpful and will help you plan your stay, booking tours and making reservations at restaurants for you as well as cooking meals and prepping packed lunches whenever you need them. Ronna helped us to book some scuba diving with a local dive shop (Taveuni Ocean Sports) which was an unforgettable experience, with some truly amazing corals near the island. The snorkelling around the honeymoon island is amazing, with so many fish and different types of coral to see. If you’re going to do this, would recommend going early to make sure you get some privacy as later on others staying nearby might also go there.

This is the real Fiji. It's a lifestyle. The community embraced my family as their own. The longer we stayed, the harder it was to leave. The Kava was strong and the beach was epic! We were surrounded by the best humans on earth. and don't forget the waterfalls! Postcard views everywhere you look.
