We greatly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this accommodation! We appreciated the location (close to climbing and Beattyville), peaceful surroundings (cows!), kind and responsive host, clean environment, and reasonable price point. It is also so nice to be able to bring our dogs on the trip. We hope to stay again!

Caytie and Matt are dream hosts. As a host myself, I appreciated their open-communication, generosity, and thoughtfulness. The cottage is in a prime RRG location. It’s quiet and serene. We love to hike all over the Gorge, and the cottage is about 15-30 mins from all of our favorite hikes. The cottage is fully stocked with all you will need to cook breakfast, lunch, or dinner from seasonings to dish soap. Bathrooms are stocked with toilet paper and soaps. The beds are comfortable and the cottage fit our family of five perfectly. Don’t worry about packing toys for the kids - they stock them! And the outdoor area is so great with a ninja course, hammock, and grills. Our kids loved catching newts at the pond. Caytie’s design and style is so welcoming. The hot tub was lovely. Thank you, Caytie and Matt! Memories for a lifetime! We will be back! :)

We had a great time. James and Elizabeth were excellent hosts. The place was clean, well stocked kitchen. Linens were nice. We would definitely come again.

Great accommodations, was perfect for our family. The unit had everything needed and Lindsay was great checking I. With us everyday just to make sure we had everything we needed! Would definitely stay again!

From the ducks to the dogs to the beautiful views this place was terrific and comfortable for our family.

Halley is a great host! I booked very last minute and she was very accommodating. Halley was very communicative and quick to respond, which was very appreciated. There are food places 15-30 minute away depending on what you choose. We ate Friday dinner at 145 Roadhouse. Their filet was tender with great flavor! On Saturday we enjoyed a nice breakfast outside on the balcony of Halley's home. We had planned to walk Natural Bridge State Park on Saturday, but mother nature decided differently for us. So we went to a store about 5-10 minutes away and bought some games to play. We spent the rest of the afternoon with the windows open, listening to the rain. While playing games with the slight breeze that blew through the home. Saturday night we had dinner at Hop's. Hop's food is farm to table and they had live music. The artists playing were playing something alittle different from what we are used to, but it was very enjoyable. The spaghetti was amazing! Would most definitely stay again!

Very nice home. She was extremely helpful and we booked very last minute. A beautiful area not too far from downtown hazard. It was a nice stay.

The Lady Slipper apartment was the perfect base for all of my hiking adventures in the Red River Gorge...located right in the middle of it all. Had everything I needed for a comfortable stay for myself and my dog.

There are three things I am looking for when I choose a place to stay on vacation and this place checked every box! 1. LOCATION! This place is in a perfect location. It is close to a highway, but I never heard any traffic noise. What I absolutely loved about the location is that we were not more than 20-30 minutes from any hikes wanted to do or restaurants we wanted to visit, but it still feels quiet and set apart. Also loved the coffee/ice cream shop 1 minute down the road. Visited it every day! 2. Easy parking - Several years back I rented a place that was nearly impossible to get to so this was important to me. There are no steep hills or narrow roads in or out of the apartment. Parking is right by the front door. Super easy in and super easy out. Perfect. 3. As described - I have also been burned in the past by finding a place much different than pictured. Not here. This was exactly as expected if not better. I would 100% rent again. Hoping to return someday with my sister!

The perfect private getaway. About 30 minutes away to lots of hiking trails in red river and a quick drive to the store. Suzanne was super helpful and responsive. Gave us many things to do/see!

my friend & i stayed at this beautiful cabin to enjoy some kayaking at the gorge. location was close to kayaking and hiking. the cabin was so cute & we enjoyed our stay :)

Dylan's place was very peaceful and relaxing. First night there were huge storms, and it was awesome watching them from the huge wall of windows. With all the rain there was an added bonus of a waterfall in the creek below the house. It was nice to relax on the back porch, in the hot tub, and having a waterfall. The cabin is small, but it has everything you need for a great stay.

Five star rating as one of David’s first guests based on David as a host. His communication was amazing. Kind, quick to respond, and extremely accommodating. I know he is working on adding features to his property to make it easier to find, and he was eager to hear feedback about what could have made our stay better. The home was incredibly clean and spacious. The heat/AC worked perfectly. Our kids LOVED the cabin. The king mattresses were extremely comfortable, and the bedding was simple. The kitchen was clean and had everything we needed! Suggestions we made included making guests aware of the tough drive leading up to their property, adding a few bath towels, providing one wash of laundry detergent, and adding quite a bit more signage to help in finding the home…especially if you arrive after dark (which I wouldn’t recommend). Considering the area, and all the homes we looked at I would say David’s place is one of the best available.

Awesome cabin in the woods! Cozy spot with great views. Super close to a lot of world class climbing. Super fast internet and a comfy bed! Thanks Emmanuel for sharing your spot. Would highly recommend the location for any solo or a couple climbing in the Red.

Exactly what I was looking for for my kids and me. Out of the way, but not too far from the Gorge. Zero road noise, just birds calling. On-site walking paths were great to get us in the right mindset for longer hikes. Host's cabin, prep and communication were ideal. Directions were perfect, but sometimes a sign pointing the way gives you that last bit of confidence and relief; so yes, there's a sign pointing to the driveway. If you're from a big city, the quality, staff and prices of River Cantina Mexican Restaurant will also be memorable. My first AirBnB and the bar is set high.

Staying at The Hooting Owl was an absolute dream! The house is stunning—beautifully designed, impeccably clean, and filled with thoughtful touches that made our stay extra special. From the moment we booked, the communication was over-the-top amazing—so responsive, kind, and truly dedicated to making our stay perfect. Every part of our stay was magical, but the daily visits from the peacocks and the sweet dog, Mable, made it even more special! It was such a joy to wake up and be greeted by these beautiful animals, adding an extra touch of charm and fun to an already perfect getaway. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with amazing hospitality, stunning surroundings, and a few delightful animal friends, The Hooting Owl is the place to be! I can’t recommend it enough and would absolutely stay here again. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

This is our third time staying with H&P Cabins - amazing as always! Larry hosts the best cabins near the Gorge. Looking forward to coming back in the future.

Amazing house with beautiful views right in the middle of Red River Gorge. Highly recommend, just make sure you have AWD/4WD as that driveway is no joke! House was beautiful and clean. Loved that there was games to play as a family at night and the dog bed was nice touch too. Shane was a great host!
