Beautiful house, unique design, perfect location. Located on the slopes of Irazu, the house is in a picturesque location. There is a gated driveway with a steel door which made the place feel very secure. The host was extremely attentive and responsive. Lots of little details like a warm snack when we arrived, marshmallows, etc. Definitely try the optional breakfast!! It may have been the best meal (definitely the best value!) we had on our entire trip! Nothing to walk to but we wanted to be close to the volcano to get an early start on our days.

The place was outstanding!!! Excellent location, no complaining neighbors!!! So You can play your music at your desire volume!!! The sound system of this house is incredible!!!!and the amenities were top of the line!!!

Absolutely stunning ! The views were one-of-kind. The private atmosphere was relaxing and invigorating. The space was exceptionally clean. The hot-tub was perfection. There are unique and fun things to do nearby including visiting a historical cathedral in Orosi, visiting the hydroelectric dam in Cachi, and fishing for trout (trucha) with hiking trails, just down the road! Great location, convenient to Cahuita & Puerto Viejo. Great value for a whole house with a private pool and beautiful outdoor living space. We watched capuchins playing above the backyard and a toucan perched above the house one morning and we heard howler monkeys, as well. Check in was a little tricky because you have to meet the manager, Yordi, at the home for check-in, but he was very responsive to texts and was good to work with. The home had everything we needed. Water pressure was very poor in the master shower, but was great in the 2nd bath, so we just used that one. We loved the European style bedding. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Our four-night stay over the New Year’s Eve holiday at Volare was nothing short of magical! It was the perfect setting for our family to come together and celebrate the start of a new year. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how peaceful and beautiful the home was. The natural light pouring through the windows made the entire house feel warm and inviting, and we couldn’t get enough of the stunning views—especially the clouds and the birds that graced the sky each morning. Tucker was a fantastic host, always available and ready to help with anything we needed. It was clear that she cares deeply about the space and her guests. Yamilet, the property manager, was so friendly and helpful. Everything was spotless and felt like a true retreat. This was the perfect escape for our family to relax, reconnect, and enjoy the holiday. We can’t recommend it enough. Whether you’re looking to unwind or explore, this home is an absolute gem. We can’t wait to return!

We absolutely LOVED this place. We came here for a girls trip for a friends birthday and it was spectacular. It’s a bit far from everything but definitely wonderful. The host was super friendly and had great recommendations and referrals for transportation. Would definitely stay again!

We loved this little retreat in the jungle! It’s very private - behind a gate- and has a wrap- around porch with hammocks and seating. The rooms are not fancy, but spacious and comfortable. Only the bedrooms are air conditioned, but there is a lot of air flow through the living space and it did not feel too hot. It’s really close to public beaches, several waterfront restaurants, and the national park. You will get woken up early by the birds and monkeys! (we considered this part of the charm of Costa Rica.) Brigitte was very helpful, responsive when we had questions, and gave us information about the area. We’d definitely stay here again!

Die Unterkunft war sauber, sehr geräumig, gut ausgestattet und ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge zum wunderschönen Uvita Strand. Außerdem war es sehr sicher.

We enjoyed the time in the house. It has a beautiful view and a great (big) pool. Richard was always reachable and also organized a cleaning during our longer stay. There are good tips for the restaurant in the area. You definitely need a 4x4 as the road is very steep. There are good aircondiners in the sleeping rooms. We will gladly come back another time.

Maison magnifique, un endroit paradisiaque. Nous avons adoré, profité de la vue ,chaque chambre dispose de la literie incroyable, une vue à couper le souffle pour chaque chambre . Tout etait très propre . Un véhicule équipé 4x4 est nécessaire pour accéder à la propriété mais c est le prix à payer pour un endroit paradisiaque.

Where do I possibly start my summation of this paradise? I'm writing this now while on the plane home. Reliving my experience at Chris & Kristen's propery gives me a smile on my face even when I must return home. The personal touch stood out in a magnificent way. The knowledge of the country, the region, the local places. I felt like I was the only person on their property to care for during my stay. After a rain storm, late at night... I was treated to a tour when the vegetation was at its glory. The sounds, scenery, plant life, and different species of life were amazing. The carefully planned out grounds are a treasure... And constantly being upgraded and cared for everyday. The Villa was awesome. Had everything needed. Beautifully air conditioned, and kept. Bed comfortable, great size refrigerator, and perfectly configured stove. The view from my Villa was incredible, to say the least. My new friends will see me again. Their striving for my comfort was unmatched! TY

The House is Amazing & Oscar the concierge was very attentive and helpful setting up our daily excursions. This was a Great trip to Costa Rica!

Our family of 6 including 2 young boys stayed at the charming little villa with absolutely beautiful surroundings! We really enjoyed the bbq area and even though it was small my youngest loved the jacuzzi pool. The coveted patio area is perfect for hanging out with a cold drink and the rooms were very comfortable and the AC was a welcome relief from the heat! The hosts couldn’t have been better:) They really went above and beyond even retrieving my husbands forgotten wallet from our previous Airbnb for us! We so loved our stay and would love to return some day.

Alright, where do I even begin?! Our family stay was absolutely perfect. The location was fantastic – private and peaceful, yet close enough to everything we wanted to explore. We felt completely safe and secure, which is always a huge plus when traveling with family. The property itself was immaculate! Spotlessly clean, and the pool was truly the star of the show – we spent hours splashing and relaxing. Ricardo was a super star when it came to recommendations. We took their advice and arranged for breakfast with the recommended chef on our second day and it was delicious! Honestly, this place is exactly what you need for a relaxing getaway. It's clear they have put a lot of thought and care into making it a wonderful experience for their guests. The communication was top-notch, and the check-in/check-out process was a breeze. We had such a fantastic time, and we're already dreaming of returning! We wholeheartedly recommend this place. Thank you for everything!

We had an incredible week at Oriana and Jimmy’s house. Our family of four was very comfortable and Oriana and Jimmy were great hosts. Location- It is conveniently located off the main road so close to everything. Easy 10 minute walk to Playa Cocles and easy drive or bike ride to Puerto Viejo, Playa Uva and other sites. Very central location. Privacy - The house itself is surrounded by rainforest and very private. You can enjoy the beautiful pool and hot tub without worrying about neighbors. Amenities - Linens and towels were very nice quality and plentiful. Kitchen was well stocked with essentials. A courtesy cleaning was included and very much appreciated. Hospitality - What sets this house apart is Oriana and Jimmy’s attention to detail. They were very responsive and even proactive about our needs. When I mentioned I liked coffee, Oriana went out to buy me a high quality local ground coffee. She really took hospitality to the next level and made us so welcome.

I booked this listing for a group of 8 women. We all needed time to get away from our busy lives in the U.S. The six nights at La Sombra were peaceful and inspiring! What a beautiful location and beautiful grounds. We were all stunned by the property, in a good way:) It was even better than the beautiful pictures provided. Each villa was appointed beautifully with quality linens, towels, robes, bath soaps, dishes, etc. We especially enjoyed the patio views and the design of the structures that incorporate natural light and the surrounding nature. We ate dinner each night on the patio of the main house, and found a spot for morning meditations on the bridge. Catherine and Ryan were available and responsive before, during and after our visit. And, I cannot say enough about the local cook, Marta. We all wanted to take her home with us! What a treat:) Thank you for sharing your home with us, Catherine and Ryan!

en voiture ou en bus, certes il vous faudra un peu de temps. Mais le lieu le vaut largement. pour moi trajet en bus, kassandra est restée en contact via Wh**, très prévenante tout le long. même pour le retour elle a pris des nouvelles. acceuil chaleureux par Antonio, hermano et kassandra. logement superbe, belle vue, on s'y sent bien. le petit déjeuner copieux, je me suis régalée et pris des forces pour la journée. Et que dire de l'environnement ! quelle sérénité, calme. le séjour fut court mais ressourçant. une matinée a regarder et écouter la nature. Merci pour ce lieu de paix. il y a un arrêt de bus sur la route mais il fout soit des jambes soit une bonne voiture pour prendre le chemin jusqu'au logement. mais magnifique pour se sentir seul au monde et en même temps choyer.

Beautiful location. Cannot beat it. You can hear the ocean and are steps away from a gorgeous beach that is not crowded at all. My children loved the small tub on the back porch especially when it was raining. Our stay was magical!

The host is super responsive and helped us to have a seamless check in!

Todo estaba super bien, muy bonito, la casa preciosa, muy limpia y ordenada, realmente cómodo. Por lo demás una experiencia formidable.

Guillermo was a great host. He met us at the gate and was very welcoming. His place is a fun quirky little place and his pride of ownership shows. The kitchen was well stocked and the La Hermosa town square, with a consistently good little restaurant La Cuchara de Lao, was a short walk away.

The rustic house is perfect for a quiet and private getaway. The house feels cozy. The fire pit and jacuzzi are great additions to the house. Waking up to the nature is amazing! Will stay there again.
