Unique, authentic and clean! We were looking for a place where to stay in the mountains and still have the Italian authentic small vila - and we found it. It was rainy when we stayed, but it didn’t changed our plans and the vibe as the villa itself has the coziness that fits any weather. Highly recommended place to stay if you want to feel the unique and authentic vibe.

We stayed at this lovely cottage in late November and we were delighted with every aspect of the stay. The cottage was clean and comfortable, and was well equipped. The hot-tub was wonderful and sitting there on a chilly night with a view of SG was amazing. Annalisa and Davide were really nice and friendly and very helpful- great hosts. It was about 35 minutes to walk to the town, so quite walkable, and wonderfully quiet and rural (one morning there were 3 deer walking past the window). We had a very nice day out in Sienna which was easy to drive to. I would definitely recommend this place as somewhere really special.

We had a fantastic stay in the cottage for nine nights. Villa Alta is in a beautiful location and the grounds around the house are so well maintained. We enjoyed both the shared pool and our own private terrace with hot tub. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and perfect for our needs. It was a perfect base for us to explore the area. Raffaella was so friendly and accommodating and we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at the villa on a couple of occasions. We would highly recommend a stay here.

Sara and Brian are truly amazing hosts—proactive, kind, and fascinating to talk to. Their home is enchanting, like stepping into a real fairytale. You can feel how much love and care they’ve poured into every detail. It’s one of the most spectacular places we’ve ever stayed in! Not only is the house and the garden magical, but it’s also so practical and thoughtfully equipped, providing everything you could think of to make your stay comfortable. The gym was fantastic, and the house had plenty of space for two families. Even with 2 adults and 4 “monkeys” (our energetic kids), there was room for everyone to relax and enjoy. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and celebrating New Year’s Eve with fireworks lighting up the entire region was an unforgettable experience. Thank you, Sara and Brian, for sharing your incredible home with us. We can’t wait to return!!!

La maison est très spacieuse et le jardin est vraiment très agréable. La cuisine et la salle de bain principale (immense) sont rénovées. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié que les chambres soient climatisées surtout que nous y étions dans la période la plus chaude. Cependant, nous étions étonnés de devoir acheter des sacs poubelle, car il y en avait seulement un pour chaque poubelle, sauf pour le compost qui en avait plusieurs. Pareil pour le papier toilette, il y avait juste 1 par salle de bain. La piscine était très chaude et le jardin très bien équipé. Nous avons eu un lit bébé moyennant un supplément de 10€/jour ce qui était un peu cher. Il y avait des jouets pour enfant, mais pas de chaise haute (bon à savoir). Il faut savoir que l’accès est un peu cahoteux et qu’il faut bien ouvrir l’œil pour voir le virage pour le chemin qui mène à la maison. Ça a l’avantage d’être très calme et intime.

We really enjoyed our holiday at cas nel bosco, the house is very quiet and close to nature. We liked that very much. The pool and the garden offer total relaxation. We already miss everything very much. In the valley it was often 32 degrees in the first week and upstairs in the house it was very pleasant. The pool was super refreshing. The house has everything you need and the small village of Medicina is very charming. The access road is narrow and very winding, but we also saw some wildlife. Communication with Francesca and Paola was straightforward and enquiries were answered immediately. Thank you very much, we had a great holiday.

Schöne Aussicht, 20 min mit dem Auto von der nächsten Stadt entfernt, ohne Auto nicht erreichbar. Die Kommunikation lief super, das Haus war mit Navi gut zu finden & die Gegend ist sehr schön

The location is superb, great views and has a very cosy feel. The kitchen and living area on the ground floor were spacious and welcoming, while the private terrace made for a lovely place to have breakfast with an amazing view every morning. The bathroom and bedroom, situated at the first floor, were very clean and well equipped and the view from the bed was amazing every day. Our host Fabio was very friendly, informative and helpful informing us about best times to visit the main tourist attactions of Tuscany and where we could find the best restaurants and shops in the area. All in all an amazing stay! Totally recommend!

Liebe Rosella, wir danken Dir für Deine tolle Unterkunft an diesem bezaubernden malerischen Ort oben am Berg. Trotz des vielen Regens und der dann noch stattfindenden Mäharbeiten konnten wir einige Tage auch die Sonne und die Magie dieser Stille hoch oben auf der großen Terrasse genießen und in die Ferne zum Horizont blicken. Während es draußen stürmte und regnete hatten wir die urgemütliche Küche zum Familientreffpunkt gemacht, Es waren tolle, heimelige Momente als Familie. Die Toskana und auch Metato sind immer eine Reise wert- das Wetter ist ja normalerweise viel viel besser.

La casa è bella e offre tutti i servizi necessari. La strada per arrivare, soprattutto nell'ultimo tratto, si inerpica un po', tuttavia non è stato difficile raggiungere l'alloggio. Si gode di una bella vista e della tranquillità della natura, la strada è trafficata pochissimo ed è possibile uscire a piedi per fare una splendida passeggiata nei boschi. Le camere sono accoglienti, i letti comodi, i bagni funzionali, gli spazi per mangiare e rilassarsi sufficientemente spaziosi (eravamo 4 adulti e 2 cani). Il riscaldamento dei termosifoni avviene attraverso la cucina a legna, inizialmente serve prendere un po' di dimestichezza ma una volta scaldata la casa risulterà molto confortevole e il fuoco del legno è un ottimo compagno per trascorrere momenti di relax e tranquillità lontano dal caos e dalla frenesia. Chris è stato molto gentile e disponibile e ci ha fornito tutte le indicazioni. Un solo suggerimento: una guida sull'uso della cucina a legna

We, 2 couples a baby and a dog, enjoyed our week at this lovely location. After a quite rocky and adventurous road, the house is situated in the midst of the beautiful tuscan landscape with wine hills and olive trees. From the lovely pool which was only for us we enjoyed those lovely views. The rooms are spacious and the kitchen is fully equipped, including a nice barbecue ourside. Florence is reachable within about 45 minutes by car and there are two little towns about 10-15 minutes away with big grocery stores, restaurants and gelaterias. Andrea and Gianni were super helpful, responsive and lovely hosts. We would highly recommend Le Spugne.

Overall, we loved the home. Can't beat the views, friendly and helpful host and convenient location for visiting numerous attractions in Tuscany. A couple call-outs for future guests. - I used the directions linked in the Airbnb app and it brought me to a different home with an owner who didn't speak English and was confused why we were there. An uncomfortable way to start. The host was kind and helped us find the way. Make sure you have the correct directions before you depart. - if you're sensitive to bugs, it's worth knowing that we had mosquitoes and flies pestering us during our stay. It wouldn't stop us from staying there again but worth noting. - you will need to plan a supermarket trip; consumable essentials are not provided like hand soap, salt & pepper, cooking oil, trash bags, etc. Neither of these things would prevent us from staying again as all the positives outweighed the negative.

Der Aufenthalt in der Unterkunft war äusserst angenehm. Bei unserer Ankunft war alles wunderbar hergerichtet und sauber. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet und man findet alle nötigen Utensilien inklusive Spülmittel, Spülertabs usw. Im Kühlschrank hat uns der Gastgeber Fabio freundlicherweise bereits einen kleinen Aperetiv bereitgestellt. Er ist sehr sehr nett und zuvorkommend und wir haben uns sofort sehr willkommen und wie zu Hause gefühlt. Die Lage des Hauses ist ebenfalls sehr schön im Hang eines Hügels. Es ist sehr ruhig und gemütlich und man kan hervorragend die Sonne von morgens bis abends geniessen. Die Buchung dieser Unterkunft ist absolut empfehlenswert!

It was a very nice week in Tuscany despite the rather rainy weather. The house is wonderful, large, warm, with all the amenities. There is also a wonderful yard with a barbecue, which we did not get to enjoy much, but the fault is only the weather. But our parking place was very convenient. There is complete peace and quiet, it is very relaxing. The location is great - very close to the A11, in 1 hour you can get to Florence, 30-40 minutes to Pisa, 15-20 minutes to Lucca. And to countless other Tuscan beauties. Thank you to Graziella and Marco for the beautiful home, the wonderful welcome and the care they took for us!

Siamo stati benissimo. La casa è un autentico rustico toscano. Hanno appena fatto dei lavori ed è pure più bello di come appare sull'annuncio. Il giardino è stupendo. Non abbiamo potuto godere della piscina, perché faceva ancora freddo, ma speriamo di tornare in estate.

Siamo stati ospiti di Ilaria per il Lucca Comics: la casa si trova a circa 20-25 minuti da Lucca e la strada che la collega alla città è stata poco trafficata nei giorni in cui abbiamo soggiornato. L'abitazione in sé è molto accogliente e ben fornita, spaziosa e con la possibilità di stare anche fuori con tavoli, piscina o zona barbecue (noi non abbiamo sfruttato molto questi aspetti, ma d'estate deve essere sicuramente molto bello). Le uniche pecche che abbiamo riscontrato sono la ricezione sostanzialmente assente, che obbliga quindi a fare affidamento solo sul wifi, e la via di ingresso alla casa che è poco visibile, ma riguardo questo secondo punto Ilaria è stata molto gentile a fornirci foto e indicazioni precise, oltre ad offrirsi di venirci incontro al nostro arrivo (che sarebbe stato oltre le 22). Complessivamente siamo molto soddisfatti del nostro soggiorno!

Das kleine Bauernhaus ist wirklich traumhaft gelegen, das Grundstück ist wunderschön. Der Pool ist groß und ebenfalls toll gelegen. Alles sieht aus wie auf den Fotos! Man muss wissen, dass man angesichts der abgelegenen Lage in jedem Fall ein Auto braucht, aber man kann seine Einkäufe einfach auf dem Rückweg vom Strand oder von Ausflügen erledigen. Tolle Strände und historische Städte sind sehr gut erreichbar. Wir haben uns als Familie mit 4 Personen sehr wohlgefühlt und den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. In der ersten Woche gab es einige Probleme, weil aufgrund einer Hitzewelle in der Toskana die AC zunächst nicht richtig funktionierte und der Pool etwas grün wurde, aber Paola und Vittoria waren jederzeit erreichbar, haben sich sofort intensiv gekümmert - und die Probleme wurden behoben! Wir durften Vittoria und ihre Familie auch persönlich kennenlernen und ihre wunderbare Gastfreundschaft erleben - nochmals vielen Dank! Wir würden gerne wiederkommen!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille avec nos deux enfants de 7 et 11 ans dans cette charmante petite maison située au cœur d'un village médiéval plein de charme. Les habitants sont incroyablement gentils et accueillants. La maison est parfaitement équipée avec tout le nécessaire, y compris une cafetière expresso et un SodaStream, des petits plus qui font la différence ! Laura a été très réactive et à l’écoute avant notre arrivée, et Stefania, sa maman, nous a chaleureusement accueillis sur place. C’est l’endroit idéal pour se déconnecter : pas de wifi ni de réseau, parfait pour se ressourcer en famille. De belles balades et visites sont à faire aux alentours, et pour les amoureux de la mer, elle n’est qu’à 50 minutes. Un lieu parfait pour se ressourcer loin du tumulte quotidien !

Wir hatten ein erholsamen Aufenthalt in dieser wunderschönen Unterkunft, liebevoll und stilvoll restauriert und eingerichtet, gleichzeitig funktionierte alles einwandfrei auch die Heizung. Ciacomo und seine Eltern (vor Ort) sind äußerst höflich, hilfsbereit, freundlich und immer top erreichbar gewesen. Sie legen Wert auf echte Gastfreundschaft, wie zB der Obstteller bei Ankunft. Insgesamt ist die Unterkunft sehr gut und großzügig ausgestattet. Man kann gut zu Fuß über den Hügel nach Lucca spazieren mit malerischer Aussicht auf dem Weg. Mit dem Auto ist es auch ganz einfach, das Parken rund um die Stadtmauer ist günstig. Viele gute Tipps für Restaurants und Einkaufen. Ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen, vielen Dank!

Heerlijke dagen gehad in de prachtige maisonnette. Dicht bij de stad en een rustige omgeving. Ontzettend lekker bed en alles was brandschoon!

La maison est anicenne, mais charmante propre et fonctionnelle. Elle est située dans un parc avec forêt méditérannéenne et oliviers, avec le luxe d'un accès direct à la plage de galets. Nous avons pu manger dehors matin, midi et soir, à l'ombre ou au soleil à notre convenance. Il fait savoir que la route et le chemin de fer sont en hyper proximité (le train passe en continu nuit et jour). Cela ne nous a pas empéché de passer un super séjour, mais il faut le savoir. Federica est très disponible et nous avons eu réponse immédiate à toutes nos questions. N'hésitez pas à la contacter pour en savoir plus.

The apartment is lovely and perfect for relaxing and enjoying some time away from city troubles. Vagli Sotto is a very tiny town, it is possible to go there by bus, but as there is a lot of nice things to do + no bigger place to shop food around, a car was very helpful. Also, do not book if you’re looking for some luxurious place - the apartment is very comfortable and has everything one needs, but the house itself is quite simple. Contrary to some old reviews, the neighborhood was not loud at all. Catia and Anna were very easy to reach via message and very kind + helpful in every matter. Thank you!!

Wir (4 Erw, 2 Kids) waren 12 Tage in den Ferien da. Die Anfahrt war etwas Tricky da wir mit unseren großen Bus (Hyundai Staria) voll beladen nicht die Zufahrtsstraße hoch gekommen sind, Andrea und Barbara waren so nett und haben uns unser ganzes Gepäck hochgefahren, leer sind wir dann mit dem Bus zum Haus gelangen. Die Auffahrt benötigt ein wenig Übung besonders mit größeren Autos. Das Haus hat den typischen ital. rustikalen Stil und ist größer als es auf den Fotos wirkt. Alle Schlafzimmer sind klimatisiert und geräumig, das Wlan läuft stabil. Die Umgebung bzw. Aussicht sind ein Traum. Es ist alles da was man zum Überleben und wohlfühlen braucht. Barbara und Andrea sind die ganze Zeit über für uns da gewesen und haben uns immer bei Rat und Tat zur Seite gestanden. Wir hatten selten so herzliche Gastgeber!!! Alles was an Obst und Gemüse dort wächst konnten wir pflücken und essen. Der Pool ist schön groß, genug Schatten und eine Außenküche sind verhanden. Wir kommen gerne wieder ❤️

La casa nel bosco non ha bisogno di descrizioni. Indiscutibilmente bella e curata nei dettagli più piccoli. Un luogo dove il selvaggio è solo la cornice di una dimora che ha l’odore del tempo e che con autorevolezza ed eleganza ti insegna il senso del silenzio e della solitudine. Giovanni e le sue emozioni hanno trasformato le vecchie mura in questo.
