This was the most beautiful place to stay in Ella. Yes it is a 10 minute tuk tuk drive to the centre but the peace and quiet, beautiful surroundings and the most amazing and hospitable staff more than makes up for this. We only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed longer. The host was fabulous, even getting an extra bed for us at the last minute and taking feedback on their listing to make it clear what was on offer. We were not there long enough to join a cooking class but wish we had because the smells of the cooking and the joy from the laughter of those attending made us wish we had! The breakfast was delicious in the amazing surroundings of a spice garden and it was a short walk to a popular starting point to walk to the nine arch bridge. Would recommend this to anyone staying in or around Ella - you won’t be disappointed! Thank you to the host for everything, one of the best places we stayed on our trip around Sri Lanka!

We loved our stay at Solitary Resort. It is situated on a hill in the „jungle“ close to Ella city center. The room and bathroom was perfectly clean. We got amazing Sri lankan breakfast every morning, that we enjoyed on our terasse with the most beautiful view. Dileepa was very lovely and provided us with many tips surrounding the area, which helped us a lot to make the most out of our time in Ella. 100% recommend this place!

The house was very beautiful, amazing views of the lake Gregory, mountains and perfect spot to view sea plane landing. Our family loved it. Kitchen could be equipped more with spoons, utensils etc. Pradeep and his Mom were very helpful. Bathroom could be more clean and glass doors need to be revamped as the water came out while taking shower. Perfect house for our Christmas gateway. Thanks.

We stayed 5 nights at Cecilia Cottage and did not want to leave once our time was up. A beautiful and peaceful apartment that felt homely right away. The host sharmini went above for all our requests and made our stay very special. I can’t wait to visit again. Thank you very much for everything!

What an adventure. We were a group of friends with people of all ages and everyone loved the space. It’s not a child friendly place but kids (and everyone else) loved the surroundings,birds and views. We hiked to the neighboring hill and were rewarded with amazing views. The hosts are very attentive and dealt with any issues proactively. It’s not an easy location but one worth making the effort to get to. The house is beautiful and rustic. An outdoor bathroom isn’t the most practical but somehow adds to the house and we can see how it would be great on the summer. The kitchen had everything we needed, we cooked all our meals with ease, and the local housekeeper is perfect if you prefer not to cook, in fact having her cook for you is a great way of empowering her to create a better life for herself and her family. Jody and Punyaka were always responsive and we hope to have the chance to visit again, it’s not an experience we will easily forget! Don’t miss Diyaluma falls (take swimsuit).

We really liked our time at this place. The landlord tried everything to make it as much Perfect as possible for us. He offered us connections to local guides, provided a delicious local breakfast and took us with him in his car. We fully recommend this Air BnB!

We were in Ella to stay in another property that someone in our group has reserved and it certainly didn’t meet our standards and didn’t want to spend even one night there. I quickly turned to Airbnb and found this gem for our group of 10. It was 10pm on a Friday night but Sujeewa responded right away to accommodate us. He sent his Property Manager to the Villa and they were ready when we arrived. He also later checked to see whether everything is going well for us. The stay was so relaxing. The property is impeccably clean. Lalith, the Property Manager and his family cooked for us for a set menu. Tea, coffee can get served as well. They are super polite and helpful to make our stay so relaxing. You will get an invoice at the end of your stay for all the meals and beverages consumed including bottles of water. The villa is about a 10 minute ride to Ella town. Not much to do surrounding the property except you can go for walks in the village. Highly recommend. Thank you Sujeewa.

Our stay at Champi’s in Ella was absolutely perfect! The biggest highlight of our room was the breathtaking view of the waterfall, which we could admire every day. The room was well-equipped with a kettle, fridge, and efficient air conditioning, ensuring a comfortable stay. From the very beginning, we felt at home. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful—nothing was impossible for them! The breakfasts, included in the price, were delicious and filling - just the perfect way to start the day. We also booked a tour around Ella with Champi’s brother, and it was a remarkably interesting experience at a good price. My daughter participated in a cooking class with Champi’s and absolutely loved it! It was an amazing experience that she will remember for a long time. Another great advantage is that Champi is an English teacher, which makes communication in English smooth and effortless.
