A great place to stay, in a beautiful area. We couldn't have asked for more.

Lyn’s house was the perfect base for our few days in Kirkcudbright. The house was spotless, had lots of little touches that made it very welcoming after a long drive. There was a lot of info about local attractions, including a map with all the local beaches marked. Lyn was very friendly and responsive with messages. A great place, would definitely recommend.

Had another fantastic weekend at Ruthwaite Farm! Absolutely love the house and we’re already trying to plan when we can next come back! The house had everything you could need for a break away. It was so clean and tidy and everything in it was of really good quality. You can tell thought and care has been put into the design of everything in the house and it is like favourite place to come away to. Plenty of space for adults and kids to roam around. David was fantastic with lots of local recommendations of things for us to do as well and very responsive to any questions we had. Would 100% recommend to anyone wanting a break in the Lake District and we can’t wait to be back again!

Couldn’t recommend enough. We stayed for a weekend, 5 adults and 5 kids. The house is well equipped and has modern kitchen and bedrooms. All the instructions for when you arrive are really easy with no problems. Definitely would stay again.

Beautiful little village, so peaceful and relaxing. Lots of lovely walks & great play area for kids. The house was lovely, well presented and the hot tub was an added bonus. The kitchen had an air fryer & toastie machine which is a great addition for families trying to make quick and easy meals. We loved our stay. The play park was fantastic with play area for young & older kids, bmx ramp & basketball court.

Redrock cottage was a great space for a mini break, with everything you need, all on one level. There was also a small courtyard garden which was safe and secure.

We had a wonderful time staying in Paul’s place in Cockermouth. Paul was a very responsive and helpful host. The house was great - we had everything we needed (family of four), it was quiet and private, whilst being in very close walking distance to all of Cockermouth’s restaurants, bars and shops. The whole stay was easy, relaxing and enjoyable from start to finish. We will definitely look to stay here next time we visit Cockermouth and The Lake District.

We have just returned from a weekend away at this beautiful villa for a family weekend away. Beautiful location with spectacular scenery on the drive in. The villa has the wow factor. Home from home, the hosts have thought of everything and we couldn’t think of a single improvement except for a guest book so we could write our positive thoughts and recommendations in person of places to visit in the area for other visitors to read. The kids loved the park, ducks and football court, they also loved reading in the villa and playing board games which were all in the villa to use. Myself and my partner enjoyed walking around the site and spending quality time as a family. We couldn’t recommend this villa or hosts more highly and we thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us so we could make forever memories to treasure. Stephanie, Scott and family 🙏🏻

My family had a great stay at Rebecca’s place. Jacqui and her husband were so friendly and welcoming. We had a couple of equations but they were always on hand. The cottage is so peaceful and surrounded by amazing views. We used the pool a couple of times which the kids loved and is such a great facility to have on your doorstep . Thank you for a great stay :)

What a beautiful location, 1 mile to the nearest road, right on the cliff top overlooking the sea, with a woodland and coastal path right outside. Slight issue with the Aga on arrival, but Fiona came out with backup kettle and stove, and the offer of a night in separate accommodation. And the Aga was fixed the next day and by the evening we were enjoying a roast dinner in a lovely warm cottage. The views from every window are just amazing. Thoroughly enjoyable stay, especially by our 2 year old Springer, Max. We hope to be back in the future.

We had a lovely stay at the caravan. There was everything you need and plenty of space for a family of 4 and a dog. There was a secure area of grass for the kids to play with plenty of sight to watch from the balcony. We were lucky to get good weather and took advantage of visiting the beach and culzean castle. The park is tranquil and cosy at night and we were able to relax. Really enjoyed our 3 nights away and would absolutely return. Thank you Alisha for hosting and really appreciate your flexibility and communication.

Had a family weekend which was great from start to finish. The lodge was lovely, clean and actually better than described. Beautiful surroundings with lovely pub for food. Swimming pool was great too. Overall amazing experience - thank you, Sarah.

Ronald and Trisha went over and above to make us feel welcome including a birthday card and extras for our 6 year old sons birthday. Property is perfectly clean, warm, and has all mod cons required for a relaxing stay. We could not fault anything including our excellent hosts. Thank you so much.

Just home from a weekend stay with our 2 young kids. We had a fantastic few days, some well needed down time ahead of a busy Christmas. The lodge was beautiful inside & out with everything you needed & more. The hot tub was a great addition - even in the Scottish rain! Karen is a superb host, couldn’t recommend this place enough! We will 100% be back in the summer months x

Lovely time with family at this great cottage. We had never been to this part of Scotland before and Penpont was a very convenient base to explore from. The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable stay for four adults - we loved the log fire and the hot tub! The kitchen is well equipped for self catering and the beds are comfortable. An excellent place to stay for small groups.

We loved our stay at Cutler’s Lodge. The lodge was very comfortable, stylish and also practical with two young children. The surroundings are beautiful and the whole stay was excellent value for money.

we found a little gem in this cottage, great location to tour around, found some lovely walks with great views in the surrounding area, the roads are a bit dodgy lots of potholes so drive carefully, the accommodation was well equipped nice little touches like complementary chessboard,procecco, fresh eggs, tea coffee & condiments, we missed a freezer compartment in the fridge but managed for a few days break, the bed was comphy the shower was lovely and the hot tub was great with amazing views in a private garden for our dogs to run freely, there was little treats left for them aswell, ide definitely recommend the stables

Lovely stay at Carol’s, so friendly and welcoming and cottage really warm and comfortable with lots of extra touches, goodies etc. and no problem with the dogs. Great location for discovering Ayrshire, coast, Dumfries House etc. Thank you!

We had an amazing time at Gary and Leah’s place. It’s a beautiful modern home with very well appointed kitchen and nice enclosed outdoor space for us and for our dog - especially good as the sun was shining for our trip. One of the best locations we’ve stayed in, right next to the river and seafront area with beautiful views. Appreciated the speedy response from Gary and Leah and their local contact Iain. We had one issue with a leak from our upstairs shower and the problem was dealt with very promptly and a refund was offered without prompting for the inconvenience. It’s a great home in a stunning location and I would happily return when we’re next in Ayr.

When we walked in we all were blown away with the interior. Decorated and laid out to make us feel at home as soon as we walked in. The view, was even better. You can see for miles. Rolling hills, trees and water. On arrival we were greeted with welcome gifts for the children and the wife was happy with a bottle of wine. I'd recommend and even return. Thank you.

I had a lovely few days at Lesley's place. It's secluded and quiet which is just what I was after. The views are beautiful and I was lucky enough to have clear skies to do some stargazing. The house itself is well set up and comfortable. Lots of great locations within a short distance and Lesley had some nice recommendations of places to go. I would advise to arrive in good daylight as the track to and through the farm is very dark.
