This house was a phenomenal stay for my wedding weekend. I love old southern houses and this place blew me away. Katie was very accommodating and responsive.

Everything was great and we had a wonderful time!

Great spot for our family of six. Plenty of space for the kids and dogs to roam. After hiking the hot tub was a big hit. Easy access to SNP and caverns. River access lot was great for fishing but there was an experience with a neighbor. Be mindful of the white posts that are near the sign on the river lot for fox creek lodge. The posts don’t go all the way to the water but those posts denote separate property although there is no sign saying so. When my son was fishing three feet inside that on the rocks in the water, the very vocal neighbor came down to the road and threatened to call the cops on us and yelled pretty aggressively as he continued to walk towards us. It seemed like a strange escalation on his part when we immediately got my son on the other side of the post as soon as he yelled that it was private property. Just a note of caution, as we didn’t go down to the river after that because the guy left us feeling a little unsettled. No fault on this Airbnb at all.

The view sales this place all by its self. Listening to the river and watching the sunrise on the water was so relaxing and peaceful. With no internet and no distractions it’s definitely a great place to go to calm the noise in your mind. The kitchen was large. Plenty of dishes and cooking accessories. Pots, pans, even casserole dishes. They did have knifes. Read none were available so they have stocked with that and scissors which we used. We did bring a carbon monoxide detector as suggested in the listing. The fireplace is beautiful. We did not use the hot tub but it was clean and hot. The chairs on the porch were in great condition and nice to have morning coffee and watch the sunrise rise. Loved our stay. Will definitely return.

The chalet was a perfect home base for our stay in the valley over a birthday weekend. Derek gave us clear instructions ahead of time, we had no trouble getting in. We were able to just crash and watch TV the first night in front of the electric fireplace. Second night we hit the hot tub which we needed after a long hike. We found good restaurants in Front Royal and Luray (Osteria Maria, Chop House Bistro) and for coffee in the morning Broad Porch. Check out was also easy, we just needed to strip the beds and take out the trash. And of course we loved being able to bring our doggo. My fiancee had previously been hosted by Derek and we would definitely stay here again.

Very nice and tastefully decorated mountain style cabin. Spacious with great look. Clean, quiet and much nature around. Communication with Lisa and Jim was pleasant, to the point and with quick answers. I can highly recommend

The only part of the stay that didn't get 5 stars was that it wasn't quite as secluded as I'd hoped for. There are a number of homes on the road to the cabin, and a thin line of trees breaks the view. Admittedly unless you're looking for the other houses you don't notice them, so I got past that quickly enough. That said, the cabin was perfect, clean, cozy and everything worked as stated. Having grown up in the country, but living in a city now, I felt the stress melt away as soon as I stepped into the massive yard where my son and I spent a lot of time playing soccer and other sports. My son and wife really enjoyed the hot tub. The location is 15 minutes away from Luray which meant that the stars were amazing for the brief break in the clouds we got, but that it was close enough to get groceries and take out as needed. Plus it's about 20 minutes away from Front Royal so there are places to go and enjoy like Skyline or Luray Caverns. Jackie was a great and responsive host!

We had such a great time at this beautiful house! Everything was neat, clean, and comfortable. My friends and I enjoyed the peace and quiet and had fun exploring all around Charlottesville. Thanks, Kathryn!

We loved our stay here! The yard is gorgeous with amazing views of the mountains. The home is beautifully constructed with everything you need inside and out. Both the property management company and owner/host are great people with proactive communication. Spotty cell service but property has Starlink, which worked very well for us. This is the perfect place to stay in and relax, or to explore Luray and Shenandoah with dogs!

Fantastic stay overall. The host was very responsive, friendly and accommodating. We made an oversight during our booking in that we didn't notify in advance that we were bringing a pet, but once we explained the issue and discussed it with the host, she was very accommodating and allowed us to pay the pet deposit and stay. She has two small puppers who tagged along with us on several walks around the property (highly recommend walking up Bruce's Mountain for a spectacular view!). Would happily return for another stay in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at this home. The location is stunning, the farm manager is very friendly and knowledgeable, and the cows were so fun! We will definitely consider a return visit!

The Sun Dancer Lodge has the most wonderful views! Not hard to find, yet so quiet and peaceful. Plenty of room and Darden was a responsive and helpful host! We'll look to come back next year!

Everything was amazing, my fiancé and I had such a good time, disconnecting from our lives for a short while. We brought our dog, Zoey, who also had the best time. My only complaint was that the lock for the mailbox has seen better days, it was a bit of a struggle getting into it. Though, that didn’t make our stay any less magical!

We had a great time at Shenandoah it very safe. We checked in around 11:30 pm and they responded our questions. The shopping center is 7.8 miles away from the house it’s about 15 minutes drive. I had so much fun and I will definitely book it again.

We loved using the pool and the patio/grill area. The view and the landscaping are beautiful. The owner was helpful and responsive; she supplied firewood and charcoal. Plenty of dining space both indoors and out. Good A/C.

better than we could have imagined! absolutely beautiful surroundings. The other cabins and main house are pretty close together physically but we never saw anyone-still felt private and the views/surroundings are so beautiful that you feel in your own world, an immersive place. We really liked the decor, much more soul than the average cabin you might find on airbnb, and clearly the hosts have an eye for art and history. There were two times we encountered dogs unexpectedly and without any owner in sight, but they were very friendly dogs and no trouble-just unexpected. This would be a fantastic intimate wedding location!! Had a wonderful time and will be returning in hotter months to use the absolutely beautiful pool area.. thanks for a lovely stay.

We stayed at this charming home during our recent family ski break. The home is extremely clean and exactly as pictured. Jo was very friendly, helpful and responsive. We loved the location. It is a few minute drive to base camp and walkable to the playground (huge plus with our kids). Each evening we could see deer just a few yards away. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to anyone considering this house.

Andy was very responsive and gave clear instructions. We had been at this resort a few times in the past and the unit we received was very nicely appointed and updated. We had all amenities and were super close to the indoor pool and gym. Comfortable.

Private apartment with nice view and private hot tub. apartment is attached to main house but separate feel with no shared indoor spaces. loved goats. Kitchen was stocked with lots of spices and coffee. Nice mountain view.

Very private location. The house was a nice cabin with spectacular views and comfortable furnishings. Very spotty Verizon cell service, but wifi worked very well for calling and internet. Would recommend for a private get-away.

Hidden Gem definitely deserves its name! Beautiful views with things to do in the area. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our weekend getaway!!
