Don't judge a book by its cover. This older home's interior has been lovingly restored and refreshed with great attention to simplicity, comfort, and quality. It is spotlessly clean and located close to town and restaurants in an established neighborhood. The only issue we had is that the heating system can't quite meet the demands of frigid temps. Faith, who is unbelievably responsive, has mitigated this known issue with space heaters, which helps (our bedroom was fine with the additional heat). However, be aware that if it's super cold, this may not work for you. Regardless, we had a 5-star experience. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the spacious kitchen has everything you need--the view from the window while standing at the gorgeous farmhouse sink is straight out to the Blue Ridge. The towels are plush, the bathrooms sparkling, and the thoughtfully curated art, wall colors, and furniture are beautifully simple and harmonious. One of our best Airbnb stays by far.

We had a great time at this airBNB. It was private, quiet at night despite some neighbors being close by. The house is better than the photos! It was perfect for our group getaway with the games downstairs in the basement. we explored local wineries nearby. would recommend this home! Next time we come back to the area we will try to stay here again! Lisa is a very responsive and helpful host.

Very quant home and was perfect for what we needed. Beautiful surroundings and quiet. We will definitely be back during warmer weather to check out the trails.

Wonderful weekend stay right on the river. Easy access to the hazel river, Shenandoah national park, as well as some short trails right on the property. Spectacular views from every window and multiple decks. It’s easy to sit and read a book while listening to the peaceful sounds. This property is beautiful with everything you need to feel right at home. It felt more like a home than a rental property. It was well decorated and somewhere you actually want to spend time vs drop your stuff and head out. We enjoyed our stay, and plan to return.

It's a perfect location for a peaceful stay. The cabin is surrounded by nature and has everything you need to unwind, relax, and enjoy! Highly recommended.

We have been to a number of rentals, both Airbnb and others, both in the U.S. and abroad. Walnut Run Farm is BY FAR the warmest, most welcoming, most perfect rental we have ever been to. If the property were for sale we would buy it in a minute, even as we much hope John will continue to keep and care for it for many years as the treasure it is. In renting John's home (and it is absolutely and in every sense a home), you have the chance to live in an extraordinary country house on a large, beautiful piece of idyllic Virginia Piedmont farmland. If you can score a rental at Walnut Run Farm, grab it.

Laura’s place was perfect for our long holiday weekend stay in Madison. The property matched its description precisely, offering comfortable beds, a well-organized kitchen (everything is labeled), and fully functional amenities. Laura was responsive to our questions but we had most of the information we needed in the house. The location was ideal for exploring Culpeper and Charlottesville. Everything was immaculately clean, and the internet and TVs worked perfectly. We would absolutely recommend this rental and hope to return in the future.

A clean and attractive modern country cottage that is clearly designed for AirBnB travelers. Good lighting and seating. Lots of linens and toiletries. Firm but comfortable beds. A thoughtful touch is the bedside tables with reading lamps and built-in outlets, including USB. Good closet space, though no shelves or dressers. We found plenty of coffee, sugar, and creamer, and a few drinks in the fridge, though no snacks like others have mentioned (but that was fine--we bring our own!). Tons of outdoor space that is great for families, kids, and pets. We will hope that Cozy Corner is available for our next visit to the area. p.s.: Finding the property and entering the house after dark is a little tricky; we recommend asking the host for additional information if you will be doing that. And as others have mentioned, there does appear to be an exterior security camera, even though the listing says that there is not.

We had a wonderful weekend stay. The condition of the house is incredible, with lots of original detail including very wide plan heart pine floors and an absolutely breathtaking fireplace that came very well stocked with wood and kindling. The location is very charming as the house is surrounded by vineyards and accessible only via a rustic bridge. Modern convenience is only 5 minutes away if needed, and there is a state park with terrific hiking trails nearby. We also cooked our meals in the kitchen and found that it was very functional with everything we needed. We loved our stay and would highly recommend.

The place was amazing! There’s everything you would need and more! Taby was the best host I’ve had in a long time and always responsive and quick to help. Love all the amenities provided (games, kayaks, individual toothbrushes, mouth wash, great shampoo/conditioner). The kayaks and the chicken roaming around was a nice touch to the vibe. Taby also come and made sure we were able to plug in our EV during our stay. Super flexible checkout as well! Nothing but great things to say. We look forward to coming back when it’s warmer to take the kayaks out!

Do not hesitate to book the Boone House! We had an outstanding experience. The spot is nestled in a quiet area and the cabin has everything needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Thoughtfully decorated with a woodsy, cozy yet modern/industrial vibe. Melissa and Danny are outstanding hosts- kind, clear communicators, and generous hosts. We enjoyed our family time together immensely. Can’t wait to come back!

This was an awesome find with a charming outdoorsy vibe. It was safe and secluded, we enjoyed the nature in the area and found the airstream to be cozy and was stocked with everything that we needed for our stay. Would highly recommend!

We had a very good stay at the location. Amy and Chris communicated really well. We enjoyed the huge hall and backyard thoroughly.

As many have reported this is a true gem!! The view is to die for! We spent one day biking to Luray from Rileyville. A stunning country road ride with farms all around, mountains on either side, no cars on the road! Would not recommend biking on overlook drive due to gravel.

We had a fantastic stay! kids loved it..The Villa was perfect. Bo was incredibly responsive to help. Highly recommend it , We are definitely staying again.

The cabin was the perfect spot for a weekend away from the city. It had all the things we were looking for — campfire for smores, spots for stargazing, and land for the dog to run around. Firewood included was a huge plus! There’s not much around, but a little country store had everything we needed. We look forward to returning and plan to rent the chalet with friends. Thanks for such a great weekend!

This was our fourth time staying at the Big Dipper Ranch. Each time we visit we discover something new about the local area. We checked out the apple harvest festival and a dog-friendly hike, both thanks to Jud’s recommendations. He’s a fantastic host and we can’t wait to return next fall.

I had a great time staying at Sharon’s! The place is spectacular and peaceful. My family and I went over to spend the weekend, Sharon was responsive and helpful. The house was clean and comfortable, and everything was as described. I’m really happy I chose to stay in her home. I would 100% recommend it. Thank you, Sharon!

This place was perfect for our weekend getaway. The cabin was spacious, clean and comfortable, plus close to so many hikes in Shenandoah national park. The hosts really thought of everything, from coffee to cookware and even having the fire pit filled with brush so we could easily have a fire. The location is nestled in the mountainside and is SO quiet, coffee overlooking the mountains and hills with nothing but the sounds of nature was therapeutic. We are already talking about planning our next trip back!

The Sun Dancer Lodge has the most wonderful views! Not hard to find, yet so quiet and peaceful. Plenty of room and Darden was a responsive and helpful host! We'll look to come back next year!

Wide Pine is truly a treasure! One of the most beautiful and well appointed Airbnb’s I have stayed in. Everything from the beautiful wood floors and open airy design of the house, to the thoughtful added touches like an espresso machine and robes in all the bathrooms and bedrooms made our stay feel above the rest. The setting is peaceful and private, we enjoyed long walks through the trails in the woods, and sitting in the sun on the deck. The house is cozy, comfortable, and has everything (and more!) to meet all of our needs! We would absolutely stay here again!

Our group of four families, including a gaggle of kids (infant to 9yo) all LOVED this house and beautiful property!! The weather wasn’t great but there was still plenty to do both indoors and out. Kellene and Berry were all around great hosts! We hope to return!

This house is adorable, cozy and wonderful for a family getaway. Our family of 4, spent the weekend with our friends - another family for four. The kids had the absolute best time running around the yard, roasting marshmellow by the fire. The location is gorgeous but very remote. We did not have cell service so had to rely on wifi for communication (which was fine for a quiet restful getaway!). Driving anywhere takes at least 20 minutes but more like 30-40. We did a day trip to Lurray and to Shenandoah Skyline drive. House was well stocked with all the basics for cooking and had ton of linens. Huda was SO kind and responsive though and an absolutely wonderful host. There were even frwsh flowers out for us when we arrived :) All in all we would definitely recommend this property for a peaceful, nature getaway!! Thank you for hosting us :)
