Zen Den is a fantastic space and exceeded expectations.The yurt was clean and incredibly cozy with the fireplace, making it the perfect retreat for a peaceful getaway. The hosts were responsive and made our weekend getaway easy! The property itself is beautiful and walkable, with lovely paths and a pond to skate in the winter. We will definitely be back! Cheers!

We were exhausted but finally got to the yurt & it was incredible. Felt like 100 acres all to ourselves / our dog! We slept most of the time but the little exploring we did / our dog was just beautiful, quiet, relaxing!

The Yurt we stayed in was absolutely incredible! It had such a cozy vibe to it and enhanced the feel of the nature surrounding it. The grounds that the Yurt is in was also gorgeous and filled with many activities and things to see. Another note is how committed everyone involved with the grounds is to keeping it extremely environmentally friendly. The whole experience was definitely worth it and better than imagined!

A super great Yurt to spend the night in!

Our time at the yurt was unforgettable. It was simply spectacular- one of those places that is so very hard to leave, a one-of-a-kind experience. The hosts met us at check-in, explained the specifics of this off-grid experience, and offered advice on ways to enjoy the surrounding area. We appreciated the level of detail provided in the correspondence beforehand. It was important to be prepared to carry water, bring linens, and pack light. We would love to return someday!

The yurt was great. Roomy, clean, and toasty warm on cold fall nights. Although we never met, Ellen was readily available to answer any questions. She even unlocked the schedule so we could stay another day. There were beautiful sunrises over the pond and a campfire at night. Thanks to Ellen and her family for allowing us to make our own beautiful memories at your home.

My boyfriend and I LOVED our stay at Jim and Kim’s yurt. This was the perfect balance of rustic, yet comfortable. The yurt itself is adorable and cozy. Jim and Kim kindly explained how to use the toilet and shower- both were kept very clean and worked perfectly for us. They really thought of every detail — wine and water glasses, white noise machine, pre-arranged fire wood and fire starter. The location of the yurts was ideal for us — away from the craziness of Bar Harbor but still very easy to get to the park. Jim and Kim’s local knowledge was also super helpful! Overall, we really appreciated the care and attention that Jim and Kim put into making sure we had a great experience and would highly recommend this stay!

This yurt was magical. Lots of space inside with a really high ceiling and nice string lighting. Bed was very comfy. Nice to have an incinerating toilet inside (a rarity in a yurt). There’s a grill outside which worked well, but no stovetop burner, so bring your own if you want to cook in a pan. Showering outside, under the stars is a cool and unique experience. The yurt is not insulated and it doesn’t retain heat very well, so you’ll probably have to move the space heater to wherever you’re sitting. Heated blankets for the bed were very nice. We spent a lot of time just looking up towards the ceiling at the beautiful rooflines and the cozy lighting. There are also electric/Tesla chargers less than 5 min away the 95 Kennebunk rest stop.

We had a great week in the yurt. Very comfortable. Good location to make day trips around the area from. One issue we had and something to be prepared for if you're traveling with a young child, it's very bright late and early inside the yurt thanks to the roof window.

Tom and Sharon have a beautiful property inside and out. They were friendly and communicative hosts and went above and beyond to provide us local recommendations to ensure that we could maximize our stay. The yurt was a luxurious retreat for us after days out hiking in Acadia National Park. The bed was extremely comfortable along with the other luxurious bathroom amenities that made it easy to relax and rejuvenate. Listening to the rain patter on the canvas roof while overlooking the fall foliage made for a magical experience. I highly recommend!

Erik was awesome! As soon as we got there, he had the wood stove going for us, and was ready to show us how it worked. Had great recommendations for local restaurants. 10/10 stay. Thank you Erik!

We loved our stay at the roundhouse with our kiddos, my parents and our 2 shih tzus. The girls are still asking to go back to the round house instead of home! It’s such a beautiful place architecturally, & Greg & Sara also provide everything you could possibly need, plus extra details like a doggy welcome bag, kids toys, and snacks for us on arrival. The beds are super comfy and all linens pristine, cozy and tasteful. We all slept great every night. We also all loved watching the birds at the bird feeder, and the kitchen and bathrooms were perfectly stocked. We came mid-winter but still found loads of things to do including the toboggan championships, the phenomenal Owl’s Head transportation museum, an escape room, gorgeous drives, some very cold beach walks, the Banff film festival, a piano concert at the opera house, the Farnworth Museum, the Rockland Contemporary Art Museum and lots of great shops and galleries. Lastly, every restaurant we went to was amazing, and we went to tons!

I would highly recommend this yurt to anyone who wants a nice quiet getaway. The site was beautiful overlooking the ocean through the trees. The yurt was very cozy and clean. we had the option to use the woodstove sauna for a small fee which was well worth it it was very relaxing. Jillian was a great host she gave crystal clear directions and was quick to respond when we asked questions.

We had a lovely stay for a family of 4 plus two grandparents! Convenient location to the town and trails. Desiree thought of everything you’d need so you can just show up with your clothes and explore Acadia. We appreciated the fully stocked kitchen, bathroom amenities, sound machines, smores kit, SMEG, children’s toys, welcome basket and recommendations. We would stay here again!

We are repeat visitors to Western Maine Yurts, although we had never stayed in this newer “village”. I liked the layout, proximity to the bathhouse yet still private & near the trails. We stayed in Kennebec. We were a last minute check in & Alex & Tricia were extremely attentive & accommodating! You really can’t go wrong with the experience they provide! We will be back!!

We spent 2 nights in the Yurt! The bed was so comfortable and clean. The space was adorable and we loved being there! It was a very easy drive to and from Acadia National park! The skylight in the yurt made for a relaxing evening. We felt very safe and Kaitlin made our stay so easy!

We were treated with exceptional kindness and hospitality throughout our stay. The property featured fireplaces both indoors and outdoors, which is a rare experience for us, making our time here truly special. As night fell, we could hear the distant howls of a wolf pack, allowing us to fully embrace the beauty of nature. The BBQ equipment was thoughtfully prepared, so with just the ingredients at hand, we were able to enjoy a wonderful meal. The host was remarkably prompt in responding to our messages and resided nearby, ensuring that any concerns were addressed swiftly and efficiently. Thanks to this thoughtful hospitality, our children were able to have a unique and invaluable experience—one that will surely become a treasured memory for a lifetime. Stayed overnight for a 2-day trip to Sunday River. Very close to the resort, and near town of Bethel for re-supply runs. This particular yurt is especially convenient for its proximity to the bathhouse, which is very clean and well maintained. The heater worked well throughout the night, and the outdoor string lights basically negates the need for flashlight or head lamps. Wish we had more time to make use of the outdoor fire pit. Would definitely stay again for another similar trip to near by skiing.

Our quick stay at Western Maine's "Saco" Yurt was lovely, we wished we could have stayed another night! Cozy, good quality and easy instructions. We were there in cold weather, and the stove keeps everything really warm even on the lowest setting. Bathroom facilities are very nice. To clarify, there is no mini fridge - you have to bring a cooler to keep things cold. Great location for skiing at Sunday River - hope to be back again!

It was our friend group’s second time staying at the yurts and we had a wonderful weekend of snowshoeing, cozy game nights, and cooking together. We were close to the bathhouse and the trails. We brought our dog and he had a blast. Loved the Sunday morning coffee at the gallery, too.
