What a great base to explore National Park. This is not a “professional” Airbnb but their vocational home and it feels Ike one. This is a very nice surprise vs 100s of faceless Airbnb locations which. Everything was clean, kitchen was stacked. We can confirm that outdoor hot tub is there and operational. We did not use it but the water was hot and views were nice. The only small issue: no shampoo, only body soap ( or we did not find it). Not a big deal as we had some but was surprising given how stocked the house is. Thank you Debbie for letting us stay.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful and well-equipped property. The house was spotless, cozy, and perfectly located—close to town yet peaceful with stunning views. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the outdoor area was great for relaxing. One highlight was the spa pool—a great addition to the property. However, the water felt a bit over-chlorinated, which meant we couldn’t stay in for more than 10 minutes at a time. That’s just a small detail in an otherwise perfect stay, and I’m sure it’s something that can be easily adjusted. Overall, we highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Ohakune. It’s a wonderful spot, and we would happily return in the future!

What a fantastic spot to stay. Instructions were so well laid out in the little gift box that greeted us. A lovely bottle of wine and some chocolates. The hosts were so accommodating on some requests we had. I cannot tell you how comfortable the master bedroom bed was. Heavenly. And we loved the outdoor fireplace, as well as the indoor one. Would love to come back here next time I’m in Ohakune.

Beautiful home very near Ohakune town center (with easy beautiful outdoor walks to and from the property). Views and space itself exceeded already high expectations set by the photos. Well equipped kitchen and thoughtful touches from the spa, kitchen and bathroom supplies, to the fireplace and TV streaming options.

We had a fantastic weekend stay at Walnut cottage. The area was peaceful but still suitably located close to town and activities. The decor was simple but sleek with a welcoming feel. Having young children, we were so pleased with the safety aspects of the cottage - fully enclosed, a neat treehouse and sandpit for kids, and hot tub fully secured. This meant we could truly relax. Loved cooking in the kitchen - open and plenty of space. This cottage would be perfect all year round and we will definitely be back. Lastly - we left behind our daughter’s favourite toy and the host was most responsive in helping it find its way home. Couldn’t have asked for friendlier people to deal with!

A lovely house with great indoor and outdoor areas. The house had everything we needed for a fun and relaxing weekend including a hot tub, pool table and darts. We took advantage of the local bike trails too. Fantastic!

What a beautiful spot! Great view from deck, kitchen and hot tub of the volcano and loved having a few different spots to relax depending on time of day. Good distance to the volcano for hiking but also the amenities of the house were great, as well as neighbouring highland cows!

A perfect place for a cozy stay near the beach - loved it. The outdoor bath and BBQ are incredible, and only a minute’s walk to the shoreline!

Wow! I can't recommend The Pheasants nest enough. My partner and I were looking for a relaxing getaway from our busy lives in the city, and this rural retreat was exactly what we needed. We immediately felt welcomed when we received a lovely package filled with goodies, and they even supplied us with a delicious breakfast. The views were absolutely stunning, we especially loved soaking in the hot tub while taking it all in. The Pheasant's Nest was beautifully set up with all the essentials needed for a getaway, it also gave us a sense of privacy that made it feel like we had the whole world to ourselves. The drive there was also enjoyable, allowing us to explore parts of NZ we had never seen before. Overall, our stay was perfect, I'd definitely return in a heartbeat. Thanks again Kathrine and Kim for providing us this gem to stay in.

Ths was one of the best places I have stayed. The cleanliness was next level and all the extras supplied with fresh home made bread and other goodies in the fridge.... Our privacy was absolutely respected even though their home was not far away. I would definitely come here again whenever I want some time out. Very well done to these hosts.!!!

Das 'Blockhaus' war super gemütlich, geschmackvoll und praktisch eingerichtet und ausgestattet. Die sternenklaren Nächte auf der Terrasse waren traumhaft und morgens wurden wir von den Pferden oder der Katze begrüßt. Ein wunderschöner Platz um zu entspannen und zu genießen. We only had one night in the cabin, but we loved it! It was very cozy for me and my partner. The house is kind of tricky to locate because it is essentially in the backyard of another house, but it’s not too bad. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay.

What a beautiful peaceful setting. The lack of wifi and internet connection added to the restfulness. The spa pool was such a treat in the evenings. The outdoor shower provided a warm shower and was a unique experience. An absolutely lovely getaway, very closely situated to Palmerston North. Would absolutely recommend of you want a bit of an off-grid experience!
