Great location and very helpful staff for travelling to train station on departure.

The house is cozy and has good facilities. Host has warm welcome, friendly and recommend good place to visit. We feel like home. Love to stay here again next chance.

Staying at Big Bear was great, from booking to checking out. Darren was a great host who reached out with tips and information about reservations and advance bookings for local activities and restaurants etc. he was a great help in booking our ski lessons, and knowledgeable for other skiing relating issues. The apartment itself was exactly as described- and a personal touch was that the heating was turned on prior to our arrival and was very comfortable for us. The crew were available to drive us to dinner reservations, grocery store, medical clinic and collect us and drop at bus station etc. Only issue we had was trying to dial the contact number provided in the confirmation email, however once Darren advised us to ‘drop the first zero, if using an international prefix’ it worked perfectly (maybe common knowledge to some, but not us). Overall, would not be able to recommend this accommodation highly enough! It was absolutely amazing, we didn’t want to leave.

Darren’s place at Big Bear Apartments was the perfect location in Hakuba for me and my husband to spend our 8-year anniversary! Situated a few steps away from the Sakka chair lift at Happo One, this made it super easy for us to walk to the slopes every day. The apartment is well equipped if you want to cook your meals. The plush bed and heated floors provide an extra level of superb comfort. Darren’s team of staff also offers the highest level of customer service. From picking us up at the train station upon our arrival, to the daily evening trips to the grocery store in town, to dropping us off when we left (and then picking us up and dropping us off again because we got the bus location wrong), we really appreciated the hospitality shown to make our vacation as comfortable and convenient as possible. We highly recommend staying here and hope to return next year!

Such an awesome spot to stay in Hakuba! The place itself is amazing; super clean, BIG, amazing views up the mountain and easily walkable to Happo and local restaurants. The team were awesome and communication was fantastic. Pick ups and drop offs were easy to organise and everyone was so lovely. Will 100% come and stay here again! Highly recommend.

Nous sommes restés 1 semaine dans le logement de Masa et sommes enchanté. L’endroit était idéal pour nous entre le centre ville et la maison de notre visiteur. Le logement est extrêmement propre et bien aménagé. Nous avons eu tout ce dont nous avions besoin et plus. Il est plus grand que la plupart des logements au Japon. Vous avez tout ce dont vous avez besoin à quelques minutes à pied : un konbini, supermarché, boulangerie, pâtisserie! Vraiment pas loin du centre! Masa a été très réactif lorsque nous avons fait appel à lui! Encore un grand merci pour le séjour!

We enjoyed our stay. Very close to the station and downtown. Lot’s of restaurants and convenient to walk or take the bus. Check-in was simple and the directions were clear how to find and get into the apartment. The host was very responsive and we were able to check-in a little early, but otherwise would have been able to drop off our luggage anyway. The apartment was clean and had everything you needed. We are very happy with our stay.

The host is friendly and helpful. The house is cosy, clean and well equipped. Checkin and checkout is very easy. Recommend for couple and groups 3-4 people.

this is our 1st winter experience here is Kusatsu. the gas heater is really toasty, but it take awhile to warm the entire room. the futon on the far side (closest to the kitchen) is the chilliest as it is far from the heater. very easy to walk to the city center. some notes : the step on the stair to the second floor is narrow, so need to be extra careful. it is a very nice place to stay a night. will recommend

L’appartement était impeccable ! Il y avait tout ce qu’il fallait pour être bien et il était très propre ! De belles balades à faire à proximité. Un parking privé. Vraiment top ! L’équipe et le couple de gérants sont très sympas ! Merci beaucoup et à bientôt

Lovely apartment, very much a home from home place to stay. Host is absolutely lovely and I would highly recommend. I would have loved to stay longer.

Vi var sju personer som bodde i lägenheten. Den var väldigt fin och hade alla bekvämligheter som man kan tänka sig. Synd att vi bara hade möjlighet att stanna över en natt.

The apartment was much nicer than what the pictures showed. A very nice place to stay for someone looking for a relaxing accommodation after a strenuous day or long drive.

The apartment in the forest was quiet and relaxing, surrounded by nature. It was impressive that we could see the stars so well.
