Six friends from Australia, were fortunate to stay at Rumi and Roberto wonderful B & B in the mountain slopes of Bessho onsen in the district of Ueda. 4 days of exploring the area, recommended eateries, onsons, galleries gave us an insight into a unique Japanese lifestyle. Friendly people made us feel welcome and we soon overcame the language differences by a mixture of hand signs and attempts at basic Japanese. The hospitality of Rumi and her recommended places to eat was outstanding. This has been a great start to journey in Japan. It has set the tone for the coming weeks. Thank you Rumi and Roberto.

全体的にとても素敵な滞在でした。周りには特に何もない静かな環境でしたが、室内のアクティビティが充実していて楽しく過ごせました。到着が遅くなってしまったので、もっと日中の早い時間から来てゆっくり過ごせばよかったと思っています。お部屋にはストーブがたくさんあり、とても暖かく快適でした。室内も綺麗で明るく、居心地が良かったです。ホストの方もとても親切で、安心できました。料金もお手頃で、ぜひまた利用したいと思います。

Mako is a super host. She is always responsive and friendly to us. Even took her time to reply my early and late message to help us have a better stay at her place. She also helped us call the local taxi which is a great help as we did not have the Japan phone number and did not really know Japanese. The trip was amazing in karuizawa and having a great host like Mako elevates the satisfaction.

We were four adults visiting the Matsumoto area, looking for a peaceful place close to nature — and this house was perfect. It's spacious, cozy, and full of charm, with large windows that offer stunning views of Lake Suwa and a big veranda where we could relax and enjoy the scenery. The house has a great heating system that kept the entire space wonderfully warm — it was such a treat to walk around in comfort while it was below zero outside. Communication with the host was easy and positive. Kim is a lovely person, and just chatting with him made us feel right at home. Finding the house at night was no issue at all, and parking is conveniently located right next to the house. We heard from the host about a nature trail just behind the house, but unfortunately, we didn’t have time to explore it. Hopefully next time! We highly recommend this peaceful retreat for anyone visiting the area.

David is a wonderful host, always ready to jump in and help out. The location is perfect for snow sports and is close to several equipment rental spots and restaurants. Highly recommended.

The host is friendly and helpful. The house is cosy, clean and well equipped. Checkin and checkout is very easy. Recommend for couple and groups 3-4 people.

The place was very comfortable with some nice places to eat nearby. It is near a convenient bus stop and the host was very friendly and provided me with an early check in.

We had a great stay in this apartment, very nicely furnished, well equipped and location is ideal, close to the main station and other main points are in walking distance, communication with the host was easy and quick at all times, very recommendable!

Exatamente conforme as fotos, local super limpo e aconchegante. Já aluguei várias vezes por aqui e nunca estive em um imóvel tão equipado com coisas p/ cozinha, mantimentos e outros como aqui. Muito obrigado por nos atender tão bem.

I've booked this accommodation out of need on short notice but still everything went super smooth and well. I was given all the information I needed and help was always within a message's reach. Even when I forgot my adapter the next day, I was immediately contacted and picked it up. Very nice and clean accommodation, host was superb.

Muu San is great host. Friendly, approachable, yet she would respect your privacy. She let you alone if you prefer to be left alone. The building is not new, built in Shouwa era I believe yet it’s well kept and well cleaned. Location is good. You can walk from Matsumoto station and you can walk to Matsumoto castle.

Very fun and beautiful place. You can tell that they took a lot of time and planning to create the layout and atmosphere. It’s by far my favorite Airbnb I’ve ever booked.

I could not recommend Villa Monochrome enough! Yasue was so helpful the whole time of our stay, she picked us up and dropped us off at the bus terminal for arrival and departure and even drove us to get groceries. She was helpful during our stay and really made us feel at home. The accommodation was beautiful and well equipped and the location is fantastic for snowsports at Happo One. Will definitely be staying again! Special mention for the Kotatsu (heated) table. That was such a lovely treat after a day on the mountain. 10/10 for Villa Monochrome.
