From the moment you enter this cottage, you are transported to a place of unbelievable tranquility and calm. The view of the ocean greets you like a soothing hug, and you immediately know you’ve entered a very special place. The house was beautifully appointed with everything you could need or want. It was super clean and tidy, uncluttered but cozy. Whether you sat on the deck or cuddled up in a warm blanket in the window nook, the ocean views kept calling to us to take another look. We even cancelled dinner reservations and decided to cook at the house so that we could drink in more of this wondrous coastline. There was a well-stocked market not too far where we could get provisions. There is also a private beach access for those who like to wander in the sand. If you are looking for one of the best seaside experiences of your life, do not scroll by this beautiful cottage. It went way beyond any of our expectations, and I’m sure it won’t disappoint you either.

Our stay at Nancy’s Airbnb was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we booked, Nancy was incredibly communicative and friendly, making sure we had all the information we needed for a smooth and enjoyable visit. Her warm hospitality truly made us feel at home. The highlight of our stay was the private beach—having such easy access to the water was a dream. We loved taking the kayaks out in the morning, paddling along the calm waters while soaking in the breathtaking landscape. The entire property is surrounded by stunning natural beauty, making it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Inside, the home was just as wonderful. Large windows filled the space with natural light, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. The morning was especially delightful as we enjoyed breakfast bathed in sunshine, with serene views right outside. It was the perfect way to start the day! We can’t wait to come back!

The location, the view, the outdoor sitting area, the hike to the beach, and the hike around the huge property were all wonderful and we'd go there again. It was isolated, a long ways from any other home, and far off the highway for silent peace with just the sound of the waves. The home was unique and we'd stay there again!

This place is not phenomenal. The place looks and feels exactly as described and what the pictures show. Great value for money. Keep in mind, don’t let the pictures fool you… it is small. This is not a knock. This is NOT a huge party house. It’s a great place for couples and their dog - as we did. It’s a stunning, intensely beautiful property with a nice little cottage on it. Also, while there’s a bunch of things to do in the area, be prepared to drive. It’s not walkable to the little towns in the area. All that said, WE LOVE MOONSTAR COTTAGE. We will definitely be booking it again and will be so glad to do so. I highly recommend you book it so.

Brenda and Butch were very welcoming and helpful with directions. The property is beautiful and better than imagined. Spent lots of time relaxing, floating and swimming at the river. (Chevy Silverado 4x4 made the river access very easy.) We also loved fishing for bass in Brenda’s pond! The cabin had all the essentials. We were able to make wonderful meals on the bbq with a breathtaking view. A bald eagle frequented the valley and we held hope to see a bear, but only saw tracks. We really enjoyed our stay at Carley Ranch and we’ll be back! Thanks Brenda and Butch!

We found Caspar Dreaming to be very comfortable. The garden touches were absolutely lovely. The house is well appointed. The neighborhood is very walkable, and the home is very senior-friendly and dog friendly. It’s also just really cool looking. Very 70’s, in a good way. Very Mendo. Great ambiance. The ocean view is more of a peakaboo view through a break in the trees, but it was certainly better than no view, and you’re a short drive from views. Telescope and binoculars are a nice touch. We had one person with an electric car who needed to charge her car in town. Hopefully in the future people can charge at the house. The hot tub was clean and nice. Having a fenced area for our two little dogs provided peace of mind when outside. Everyone in our group had a great time and enjoyed the home.

Loved our stay and the house was fantastic, the couches and chairs in the common areas were very uncomfortable and I wish there was an outdoor relaxing/ eating space. The views and beach access were amazing.

Wendy’s place is absolutely spectacular. It was a well needed private & quiet time with a private lake among vineyards! We have started planning when to come back here again as soon as we stepped in. Wendy is also such an amazing host. She went above and beyond to help plan for my wife’s birthday. I can’t recommend this property enough! You must experience it!

We were lucky to find the perfect time for staying at this beautiful spot. It was a great location, with parking off the street, access to nearby headland trails- while still being walkable to the rest of town. Our host, Mary was the very picture of hospitality- reaching out to us to coordinate our arrival after a delay driving through the Bay Area; then again intermittently checking in with us to make sure there were no problems. Prior to our stay, she was also very helpful and listed recommendations on places to eat. We had a wonderful stay and intend to return to enjoy the lovely views and relaxing environment we find ourselves wishing we could live in full time.

This property is worth every penny. The view is breath taking and the home is the perfect place to come and relax in peace. The history of the property only adds to its charm. I will never forget hearing the sound of the ocean from the living room in the mornings. I would recommend 100 times over.

Beautiful tiny home studio with all of the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Nikki and Ean were friendly and came out to meet us. She gave very helpful suggestions and even had trail maps with directions to popular places. The area is perfect central location to everything and Beautiful location. We will definitely stay again.

From my mother who stayed here with my family for my wedding at Switzer Farm: “Westport is a lovely little town and Westport landing did not disappoint. It is a wonderful home that you can tell is loved by its owners. We loved waking up listening to the ocean and the views were breathtaking. There is everything you need in this home. Fully equipped kitchen, toys , puzzles and activities for kids. There is even a piano for those of you that play. We didn’t spend a lot of time exploring the outdoors because we were there for a wedding but I’m sure that would be fabulous. We did enjoy watching the cute family of foxes living behind the home that visited us on a daily basis. Our 4 year old granddaughter commented on the way out how much she would miss them. Magical home and magical wedding. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us.”

This house was an absolute GEM!! Amazing views just like the photos, clean, stocked, safe, sounds of the waves all day and night, fireplace was cozy, tv/wifi worked great.... WE LOVED our stay so much and would return again for sure!! The host was responsive, friendly and professional. Went to Fort Bragg and Point Arena Lighthouse for day trips and the kids loved it. Private beach access down a steep road that we drove down to most days- quiet, lovely and safe! There is a grocery store/hardware store in Manchester that is well stocked with food and yummie restaurants in Point Arena. Visited many other beaches in the area and checked out redwoods. We would recommend this rental!!

The views were amazing and the house was very cozy and comfortable. Victoria was an amazing host who recommended a lot of things to do the area and was very responsive! Would definitely recommend and would come back here again!

this was the perfect peaceful weekend getaway! not only was the house equipped with everything for any kind of home made meal, it was very clean and modern in a beautiful location! you cannot beat the view. bruce was extremely helpful and kind! highly recommend booking this hidden gem!!

What a magnificent home with the most beautiful ocean views we’ve ever had along the coast. The house was a perfect size for 6 adults. The kitchen is well-accessorized. It was a wonderful place to relax and spend time with family. The stunning views left us speechless!

Absolutely love staying at Lisa's Penthouse!!! We try to get up to Mendocino as often as possible and this is the only place we will stay. It's truly relaxing in every way. Once the car is parked, it isn't touched again until departure day. The town is so walkable. All the trailheads are super accessible. Love the Harvest Market. The restaurants are fabulous. To us, it's the Carmel of the north without the crowds. It's a special place as is The Penthouse. Be back soon!!!

Great place, is bigger than the photos. Kitchen was pretty clean but we needed to get some things like aluminum foil, parchment paper etc. Baking trays were available. The view is unbeatable and the spacious living room, kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms made it feel like a luxury. We could see the ocean from two bedrooms, living room, even the kitchen stove had a large mirror to be able to see the ocean! We could see the ocean from the hot tub, it was great! The home does not have a fire pit (in case anyone else gets confused like us) :D

Beautiful location right on the coast. Wonderful views from the deck and hot tub. You didn’t need to leave the property feel like you were on vacation.

Mike & Eula’s loft is a perfect getaway. The views a location are spectacular. We stayed there with our daughter for Spring Break to rest and relax. The loft has all the conveniences you would ever want. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. We recommend bringing your own shampoo and soap, since only one set of small hotel soaps were provided. Being right on Main Street made it easy to explore and shop. The balcony was a great place to eat our home cooked meals Al Fresca . We will definitely be back to enjoy Mendocino and the loft.

My family had a wonderful five day stay in early April at this lovely Fort Bragg property situated on a bluff with views of the ocean. It is an excellent location from which to explore the Mendicino and Fort Bragg beaches as well as spectacular coastal State parks and is close to shopping and restaurants. The spacious home was well equipped to handle my group of 8 which included one infant and two toddlers. Shri provided us with a crib and highchair and the young adults enjoyed the hot tub and indoor basketball games. I would certainly stay here again during my next family visit to this beautiful, peaceful area. Gabriella Uhlar-Heffner

I almost hesitate to say how great this place was so that it stays a hidden gem that’s available to us for stay after stay. It has stunning views from every window, is more spacious than it appears in photos and exceeded all of our expectations. Particularly fabulous were all the stunning houseplants - including some two stories high - that were all healthy and happy. We could not believe this is a dog friendly place - there wasn’t any evidence that a dog had ever been inside. Immaculate. Ted was responsive and friendly. We hope to be back soon!!

My girlfriends and I booked Emily's place for a girl's trip. The original date for us did not work out and, Emily was very understanding and allowed us to reschedule our stay. We had an amazing time at her place. It is easy to get to, clean and it was very comfortable. Emily has done a great job with this place. You cannot go wrong booking her place for a visit. It is beautiful and a perfect place for a vacation. We all wish we could have stayed longer. We felt right at home. Emily even had a "welcome" snack basket waiting for our arrival.
