We really enjoyed our stay at the Moon Shack! Cozy, quirky (in adorable ways), private...it was a perfect getaway spot for us. We would definitely stay there again should we travel to Gualala! Judy was super responsive and helpful. Check it out for yourself!!

This is a stunning location. Between the views, the sight of birds, the sunsets. So lovely. We really appreciated the fenced yard for the dogs. The house was well stocked. Having a beach right at our feet was great! But most of all we were so enchanted by the quiet peacefulness.

This place is not phenomenal. The place looks and feels exactly as described and what the pictures show. Great value for money. Keep in mind, don’t let the pictures fool you… it is small. This is not a knock. This is NOT a huge party house. It’s a great place for couples and their dog - as we did. It’s a stunning, intensely beautiful property with a nice little cottage on it. Also, while there’s a bunch of things to do in the area, be prepared to drive. It’s not walkable to the little towns in the area. All that said, WE LOVE MOONSTAR COTTAGE. We will definitely be booking it again and will be so glad to do so. I highly recommend you book it so.

Great place to stay for a weekend or an extended stay, great local beachs with even more in a short drive. Felt right at home and will definitely be staying again!

We hand a great time at the cottage. Very cute, great views, and the dog accommodations were so sweet (they provide a dog bed, doggie bag leash clip on, bowls, dog towel and a frisbee).

5/5 would recommend to anyone! Our cabin was so cozy and it was such a treat to look out and see giraffes every morning! My only caution for potential guests is that going into the cabin requires going through two gates (and getting out of the car to get one) so it is never a fast process. But it's a small concession for such a neat, beautiful, and comfy place to stay 😊

Jen's rental was nestled in the woods, very cozy, and comfortable. The outdoor hot tub was wonderful at night! I was traveling by myself and I was looking for someplace I could be alone to read, rest, and recover balance. This rental was great for that. With Gualala very nearby, it was easy to get supplies and/or a nice prepared meal and then get back.

What a gem of a place! Dominic is a very thoughtful host and has created an oasis close to downtown Boonville. There are so many thoughtful touches to make your stay seem very special. It felt more like a boutique hotel than an Airbnb. Our dog loved exploring the beautiful garden and we loved how peaceful the setting was. We enjoyed a bottle of wine on the porch and watched the sun set over the hills. Can’t wait to visit again.

The location, the view, the outdoor sitting area, the hike to the beach, and the hike around the huge property were all wonderful and we'd go there again. It was isolated, a long ways from any other home, and far off the highway for silent peace with just the sound of the waves. The home was unique and we'd stay there again!

Such a beautiful and peaceful retreat! Our dogs had a blast running around off leash on the hiking trail (the first part of the trail is steep but our dog with arthritis managed it just fine) and the house was incredibly well stocked and clean. Jeff and Trey were always very responsive and so friendly. I’m so glad this was our first trip with our newborn!

Great place to stay with our chihuahuas. Great neighborhood to walk in with them. No gated yard but our dogs have fine recall. Would recommend for families. Large spacious house with the essentials and a beautiful view of the water.

Such a peaceful, clean, and quiet place to stay. Perfect for relaxing in the morning and at night and exploring Mendocino and endless different hikes nearby during the day. Jacquelyn was a very kind and accommodating host. You can tell a lot of love and care has gone into creating this space and it was perfect for a little getaway to be among nature and to slow things down. This place is set up for you to relax. Jacquelyn offered some great recs and I ended up checking almost all of them out. Great location - truly won't run out of options for hikes and beach visits. Definitely recommend checking out Fog Eater in downtown Mendocino...best meal I've had in a long time and the owners are so sweet. Reheated some beignets for breakfast with my coffee on the back porch. *magic*

We enjoyed our time here. It is very rural, quiet and peaceful. Laytonville is a small town so the grocery store is very basic. It is only about 10 minutes away and open until 11. We were traveling with small children and arrived later in the day. The kids were hot and hungry and we had not had a chance to get food. The woman handling check in had a plate of fruit and was incredibly gracious to share to help keep them going until we could run in and grab groceries. She also called ahead to confirm how late they would be open. (4th of July) The walk to the private lake is not difficult and there are multiple kayaks you can use. In addition, it was during an incredible heatwave and there were regular check-ins to make sure all was well and everyone had water. There is no air conditioning but there are many fans that helped it cool off at night. Any issues or concerns were dealt with timely and appropriately. The service was truly above and beyond.

I go hiking in this region several times a year and thus have stayed in various places; this place is one of the best. It's clean, in a quiet location (bring your own supplies / food), directions to the place are accurate (write them down), getting inside is a no brainer, everything works in the house; excellent.

We loved our stay at Ashley's! She was very communicative and answered our questions right away. The location is amazing as it is right on the river and across the street from such an incredible beach! We would love to stay here again if we are in the area :)

I absolutely loved staying at this charming cottage along the California coast! The location was incredibly peaceful, and the ocean views from the patio deck were stunning. The kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy to cook meals, and the bed was super comfy. The shower had great pressure with plenty of hot water. A perfect getaway—I’d definitely stay here again!

Hi my name is David I have stayed at Barbara‘s absolutely gorgeous cute/cozy home on the lake in Lakeport I highly recommend this place to anyone not only the place is nice and clean and comfortable but the location it’s at on the lake is absolutely perfect so yes I give her 100 stars

We've stayed in multiple Airbnbs in the area, and Kelly's is by far our favorite!! We were so impressed with the views, cleanliness, location and amenities. We saw deer, quail and lots of other wildlife right out the kitchen window. She even provided homemade treats and a bottle of wine!! She was so friendly and helpful, and we had a very peaceful and relaxing weekend. The bed was also very comfortable with the softest sheets we've ever felt. This will definetely be returning multiple times! ZERO complaints!!

Sheryl's place is fantastic and as described in the listing: it is a beautiful house, well equipped, spacious, and spotless clean. Check-in and check-out were very easy and hassle-free, communicating with Sheryl was pleasant as well. We had a great time and would book again!

We had a delightful stay in the cabin! The setting is so serene and beautiful, and the cabin was homey, perfectly appointed and extremely clean. I couldn’t have been happier. The ONLY thing I’d recommend would be an umbrella for the patio table (perhaps there was one in a closet, and I missed it!). Jake greeted us when we arrived, adding a personal touch. It was nice to know they were around if we needed anything, but otherwise we were left alone to enjoy our stay. I enjoyed learning more about the cabin and its/our hosts’ backstory (in the binder). Would definitely stay again and would enthusiastically recommend.

My extended weekend at Anne's Osprey Aerie was a much-needed getaway! Her space was serene, beautifully crafted, and sparkling clean. Anne greeted me warmly with her gorgeous and intelligent McNab Shepard, Blossom, and I immediately felt welcomed and comfortable. I was utterly charmed by the antics of Felix the tuxedo cat, and the gentle clucking of the lovely chickens. Communication with Anne before and during my stay was excellent. Thank you for everything, Anne!

Wow! What a beautiful place to stay. Cute little cabin with nice furniture and just enough space to be cozy. The recommendations were great and so thoughtful. There was also everything we needed (and more!) to be comfortable. Thank you!
