This house was very convenient - the owners seem to have thought of everything! I enjoyed the clear labels all around the house so we weren’t guessing about light switches; the robes & slippers provided for the hot tub; and the thoughtful extras like mouth wash, extra toothbrushes, plastic wrap, coffee, and a lot of other things that are handy to have but you might not bring along. Even headlamps with a label, “to look for crabs on the beach at night!” The guest house is very close to the main house but we didn’t run into anyone. The hot tub was great, and unfortunately we didn’t get to explore the waterfront on our overnight but the location was easy to get to. We went to Stonecutters for breakfast and got to see some local towns on the way. A fun place to visit.

Lovely one night stay at this sweet little cottage! Grounds are well-kept, enjoyed morning coffee on the front porch. AC kept it nice and cool. Convenient location close to a great donut shop- Congdon’s and our favorite ice scream spot- Scoop Deck. Chloe is a gracious host and even granted us a late check-out!

Cottage in Shapleigh a.k.a. CampTallPines exceeded our expectations. I was looking for a nice place as a mid-point to meet my adult daughter who lives in northern ME. I invited my mother (86) to join us. The cottage was recently renovated, the kitchen was perfect with all new appliances/gadgets, the bathrooms were beautiful, the beds were very comfortable and furnished with duvets covers and overall the cottage was homey with a beautiful mix of old and new. As for the outside, Christina and Liz have created a magical place for kids, young and old, to enjoy. We enjoyed a 55 degree day and walked to the lake, visited a maple farm, sat by the fire pit with wine, watched March Madness, and just enjoyed quality time together. It was perfect!

We enjoyed our weekend away at Mayya’s guest house! It was the perfect size for the two of us and we felt there were more than enough amenities to ensure our stay was cozy and peaceful! The add on of the hot tub was much needed and appreciated as well as it was getting chillier at night and it was the perfect addition! I would have liked to take advantage of the walking trail but the weather was rainy so we didn’t get to. We would definitely stay here again for a couple days and thank you Mayya for being a great host!

This was our second time staying here, my family and I love the tranquility of this little piece of heaven. Christopher’s home was beautiful, clean and well maintained.

My gal pal friends and I had an excellent and memorable stay at Audrey and Seb's place. From the moment you walk into the entryway, through each bedroom and shared space, you will be blown away by the exquisite decor and comfortable accommodations. The kitchen is expansive, modern, and great for cooking a full meal. The property is beautifully set in the woods, bringing all the more charm to your visit. Entry was easy, and the hosts are very friendly and communicative. I'd definitely stay there again!

Terrific stay! The cottage was modern, clean, convenient and lovely. The pools are great for kids, and the cottage is near to restaurants, beaches etc. Great place for a holiday.

Wonderful,private, well equipped cottage on pretty pond. Owners quick to respond to our texts. Relaxing hot tub and fantastic sauna! Many restaurants and breweries within a 30 minute drive. Book it ..... you won't wanna leave!

Fantastic spot. The cabin is so well equipped and squeaky clean. Maggie has thought of everything! Walkable to town in minutes and private. There are even glimpses of the sparkling ocean. 5 stars!

This was a lovely stay with easy and convenient access to all of the main island's adventures. We had an unpredictable schedule and Jay and Lisa were very helpful and facilitated self checkin and checkout so we could hike and not worry about arriving/leaving at a precise time.

This was a great get away. Right on the lake with the convenience of using their kayaks, row boat, and peddleboat. Also had an array of life jackets for everyone to be safe. Scenery is beautiful, location is peaceful! We read, kayaked, played pinpong in their basement, sat around the firepit and listened to nature! The house is exactly how you see it in the pics, plus better! The home is spotless and has everything you need! Host Heidi is very responsive! They even have many board games and puzzles to play. We stayed at Alicia’s place, as we were traveling through, so we didn’t get to take full advantage of the lake. It was well appointed and made great use of the space. There was only 2 of us but a family of 4 would have no issues. It was extremely clean and cozy. We would stay again if in the area. Thanks Alicia

Elizabeth was a wonderful host and her home is perfect for a peaceful, relaxing vacation. The house was spotless, well appointed, and very cozy. The short walk to the beach and town market is really convenient. Her rental is a perfect home base if you’re visiting Portland or exploring the Maine coast nearby.

We loved our experience at our cozy, stand alone cabin. The room is spacious and has everything you need. We would stay again for sure!

What an amazing setting! Right on the water. We saw seals, osprey, and, we think, an eagle.Also the most beautiful sunrise. The house is cozy and comfortable and really really clean. We found everything we needed and some thoughtful extras. Tamara is an excellent host!

Cozy cabin with nice amenities. The space was small but perfect for two people looking for a place to sleep after a day of hiking. Comfy bed and clean space too. We loved the common spaces in the main home as well!

This Lakeside Retreat was a perfect weekend escape for two couples. In late September, we seemed to have the pond to ourselves and enjoyed sharing time around the firepit overlooking the lake. The Bathroom was spacious and one level up from the bedrooms downstairs. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare an excellent meal. I would highly recommend this cabin to a a small group of friends or family looking for a great location near Portland and Lake area attractions.Our host Bobbi was very responsive.

Very comfortably furnished cottage with full kitchen and all amenities.Sue is great host. We have stayed with her twice and will so again.

The cottage was so cozy and peaceful. We loved relaxing and enjoying the view. We arrived in the dark and Kelly was very responsive when we had troubles because of that. Would definitely stay again!

The place was absolutely fantastic for a rustic get away, well within reach to great hiking, food, and a drive in movie theater! It was also less an hour's drive from Portland. We had a great time reading, cooking, listening to the record player, and getting away from it all. There is no wi-fi but my cell service was strong, so it didn't present an issue. Thanks for a lovely stay and would revisit if I can!

Loons Rest was the perfect get away spot for our 40th anniversary. We were lucky to enjoy the swimming dock in mid September as the daytime temperatures were in the upper 70's to low 80's. The lake was pristine and was warm enough for swimming still. We enjoyed watching and hearing the loons as well as the eagles and kingfishers. We loved the outdoor fire pit when the evenings turned cool as well as the indoor fireplace which is a work of art! Also the was plenty of well seasoned firewood. Everything about this place is very well thought out. If they don't have it you don't need it! The kitchen was well equipped and we were happy to find that there was everything we needed to prepare pizzas to cook on our solo stove pizza oven that we had brought along! John is a great host and responded quickly to any questions we had. Would highly recommend Loons Rest to anyone who is looking for a peaceful and relaxing spot to vacation.
