A brilliant place to stay as a small family. It’s not slap bang in Edinburgh but all the better for it: blissfully quiet (you really cannot hear the airport), a genuinely beautiful garden to relax in, but just 5 minutes drive from the free park and ride, which is 20 minutes into central Edinburgh. And made all the better by hosting from Robert, who was super friendly, a genuine pleasure to chat to, but without being at all intrusive. Would firmly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Helen and Jamie's home! We especially appreciated how well it accommodates a large group like ours (of 16)! Our youngest brother was getting his master's degree at the University of Edinburgh, so my parents, my sister's family and my family decided to come and join him for the holidays. Every family had their own "wing" of the house, with our parents in the middle and then each sister's families down a different hallway, with each family also having their own bathroom. We even had enough room for our brother and his fiancé to come and stay in the house with us (on the third floor)! It was fantastic. The beds were divine, and the heated bathroom floor was one of my favorite treats. Jamie and Helen were very kind and helpful, making suggestions for restaurants in the area. We were close enough to the city of Edinburgh that we easily went into town every day, but far enough out that it felt relaxing and away from the hustle and bustle if we wanted to be.

The East Wing of Islay House was very spacious and comfy. It was clean and tidy and did not lack any amenities. Sandra provided firewood for the fireplace and plenty of local information. The village of Pencaitland is quiet an peaceful with a shop/petrol station within walking distance and lots of short walks. There were lots of longer walks within 12-30 mins, including those in Edinburgh. Even better if: queen or king bed instead of double bed, description and external photos more accurately reflect that the accommodation is part of a larger house, and it is made clear whether or not both sets of gates can be shut to provide a full secured outside space for dogs. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would recommend :).

We really enjoyed Kiera’s place! It was as described and well heated in the Scottish winter! The parking was convenient and the house was not far from public transport links into Edinburgh centre. Only note was most cabinets and dressers had host’s items in so there wasn’t a lot of space for our own storage. But overall a very nice space and good value for being so close to Edinburgh. Heathers place is in a lovely location with stunning views from the rear garden, the property is equally as nice , clean and tidy and the kitchen is well equipped, would definitely book again

Staying at Jacqui’s place was the perfect break we needed in the middle of our vacation. We were able to do some laundry, have a couple home cooked meals and enjoy the quiet countryside. It was a nice treat that she had left eggs and a few other things for us. It was only 30 minutes from Edinburgh and close to a couple other small towns. We would definitely stay here again.

Considering how important this building is historically it’s amazing that they let people stay overnight and cook in there! It’s very peaceful except on two evenings a group led by a reenactor were rather enthusiastic beneath the window! Only lasted ten minutes and it wasn’t later than 8.30pm. The bathroom gets rather chilly after 11pm when the heating goes off! A minor inconvenience and there is a real gas fire in the bedroom!

Our stay was wonderful. The price for being in the center of all the action in Edinburgh was incredible. Susie was very helpful and responsive throughout the lead up, during, and after our stay. It was the perfect home base for walking around the city. Unfortunately our schedules didn’t line up to meet in person, but Susie was unbelievably sweet and dropped off some pastries for us in the morning. I couldn’t recommend this home more - it had everything we needed and was a quaint/cozy spot to crash or recharge after all the activities Edinburgh has to offer. Will definitely be looking to book again if back in the city!

Wir waren äusserst zufrieden mit dee Unterkunft. Perfekte Lage, ruhig und bequem! leider haben unsere Vorgänger das Geschirr schmutzig hinterlassen. Anonsten war die Wohnug top sauber! Wir kommen wieder, falls Edinburgh wieder ein Reiseziel wird!

What a perfect apartment, ideal for our family, we found it to be even better than the listing suggested! Spotlessly clean with great quality furniture including beds, bedding, pillows and lovely thick towels. The kitchen was particularly well stocked, our 5 year old was delighted with the little boxes of cereals and such a treat to find a Selkirk Bannock too! Would definitely stay again, we had a lovely relaxing stay

We really enjoyed our stay the apartment was lovely, very clean and tidy with a homely feel. The views from the balcony of Deans Village were beautiful. Close to coffee shops and restaurants and easy to walk into the city centre or catch an Uber on a lazy day. Ross was also very responsive to any queries we had. Highly recommended

We loved being in the heart of the action at Angie’s place. The apartment was perfect for four of us. The only disappointment was the construction of the road right in front. Thankfully the workers didn’t start until about 8:30 am and finished around 4:00 pm. We were also pleasantly surprised that the street gets very quiet at night, which was ideal for sleeping in the front room. No earplugs needed! We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful house on the Royal mile. Great communication from host, amazing location, easy to find near restaurants, sights and transportation. Only (potential) drawback is it’s on one of the higher floors with lots of steps. Totally fine, but if you have very small children, lots of luggage, or mobility issues, it could be a hassle. Otherwise perfect!!!

We loved our stay at the apartment. It was very walkable to local pubs, shops, and parks. Would love to stay again!

Ferhan and his wife are great hosts. We enjoyed a beautiful family Christmas. They decorated the house and set up the Christmas tree for us. The property is very well taken care of. Entering this well appointed, beautiful home, there is a feeling of warmth and relaxation. The skylights bring in the natural light to the bathrooms. The Kitchen is modern and sleek, with everything you need to make a first class meal. The visually stunning, spacious backyard has a wonderful garden. There is a park just behind the house. My daily jog would lead me down to the beach. Here i would do a quick cold plunge- rejuvenating my body. The area is surrounded by a world renowned collection of golf clubs. The Longniddry golf club is a short walk and is a fun track. Thank you for being great hosts.

This house is stunning. Much larger than the photos suggest, extremely well equipped, very very comfortable and spacious and the perfect place for a large family gathering with no chance of anyone feeling they can't have any quiet space. So much space both inside and out. We took turns cooking the family meals in the wonderful kitchen. We definitely had a much needed family celebratory long weekend for a new baby due in December, two wedding anniversaries, 5 birthdays, a UK residency and hopefully a new job all happening in lock-down, plus a postponed wedding and to gather strength for an unexpected major operation. We loved it and only left the house on one occasion in order to make the most of the house! We will definitely be back to this wonderful special house and would highly recommend it.
