Sandown House made our summer visit to the Lake District enjoyable. Space for our immediate family and extended family and friends. We nicknamed it the upside down house because the bedrooms are on the ground floor and the kitchen and living rooms on the top floor. Plenty of parking, walking distance to all that Bowness-on-Windermere has to offer. We think the on suite bathrooms are tiny, but we are tall people (6’and 6’4”) other than that plenty of space to stretch out. Lovely welcome hamper upon our arrival added a nice touch from the owners.

We loved our stay - this is an excellent dog friendly option for those having a short break in The Lakes . The dog treats/blanket and flapjack/chocolate we received on arrival were a lovely touch. The car parking space reserved for the accommodation was a great addition as well. The location is great - between Windermere and Bowness towns - which are walkable or a few minutes in the car. Steve and Vicky were easy to communicate with and ensured all went well during the stay. We would definitely stay again.

We had a great 2-night stay at this lovely home. The check-in and check-out instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The place was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. It’s in a great location—an easy walk to the town centre and Williamson Park. We especially enjoyed relaxing in the garden, thanks to the beautiful weather. The host was responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We’d happily stay here again!

We had a wonderful time at Ivy Garth, the beds were really comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped, the shower in the bathroom had great water pressure and the lounge was great for lounging!! Views for the back of the house were stunning. The host, Lesley, was very communicative and kind, we shall definitely be staying again

We absolutely loved our stay! The place was even better than described—so cosy and well-equipped. The jacuzzi was just amazing, with a beautiful view that made it extra special. We had such a wonderful time and would definitely come back. Highly recommend!

Wonderful place in a perfect location of Keswick. A short walking distance to the shops and the lake. Certainly enjoyed taking the dog out for his walk with all the parks near by and a stroll to see beautiful views of Derwent water. The beds were comfy and the place was nice and cosy. A good variety of entertainment in games and books for the kids as well as ourselves. Having our own parking space was very convenient. We saw a lot of cars taking forever looking for one. I will definitely look at staying again when we next visit 😀

We had a lovely stay at Francesca's home to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. 6 adults and 3 children were easily accommodated, and the space allowed us to have a fun catch-up. Fran's printed information sheets were great, and allowed us to make the most of our time there. Friendly, responsive host. We hope to be back!

We spent 5 nights here at the end of March and start of April 2025. We were really fortunate with the weather and took full advantage of the wonderful location: scaling Slight Side and Scafell on one day, riding to Coniston via the bridleway on another and 'bagging' most of the Coniston fells on another day via Wrynose Pass. We ate in on a couple of nights and also went to the Wainwright's for some pub grub, as well as Stoves for their evening menu. Simon and Belinda's place is very well situated in Great Langdale for all kinds of walks and rides, food and decent pints. The house itself is a lovely place to return to in the evening with easy parking outside for our van and once inside, everything is spotless, well equipped and cosy. We really appreciated all the helpful information on bike routes and walking routes and spent the late evenings by the fire pouring over the Wainwright books planning the next day's adventures. 100% recommended.

The caravan was in perfect condition, everything was easy to find and use and a great place to stay for a trip to Morecambe or Lancaster!

Beautiful little cabin surrounded by stunning scenery, with many great places to visit within a short driving distance. The cabin had everything we needed for our stay. Andy provided lots of useful information and tips regarding the local area. We'll definitely be coming back again!

We had a fantastic stay. The caravan was so well equipped with everything you could ever need. Lots of things for the kids to enjoy and thoughtful touches like yummy things for excited children (and doggy treats if you’re lucky to have one 😁) Beautiful walks, lots to do, wish we could stay longer

The apartment was perfect, everything as listed, a fully functional apartment, very quiet and peaceful, we had a brilliant weeks stay.

Fantastic location for various activities, we were really pleased with the amount of space and how well presented the accommodation is. Very short walk to the pub for great food and good beer too so that was a plus. A few questions pre booking answered swiftly and accurately, nice touch with some basic provisions in the kitchen to help us (tea / coffee) :) thanks again , great stay!! We will be back I’m sure!!!

Cottage is lovely and in a great village, a short walk from a friendly pub that serves great food. Good base for travelling to the lakes and some lovely walks locally. Cottage is very warm and welcoming and our host Liz was brilliant , clear communication and very reactive.

One of the best air b and bs I have stayed at. Excellent central location. Very clean. Modern. So many plug sockets. A kitchen set up for cooking (fridge a little small). A wine fridge! A washing machine. Plenty of heating. Tasteful decor. Lovely touches such as local prints, map in the entrance, books, games. All the products were high end. TVs in every room (not that we used them). Plenty of heating for the cold months. Radiators helped to dry everything out between hikes. So many great shops and restaurants a few meters from the property. 1 reserved parking spot. Then on street parking between 6pm-10am (not a problem in the off season). Can use parking disc provided by local stores for an extra free hour as needed. Everything was really high quality and there were supplies in reach for if things ran low. Alexa. Salt, pepper, oil, foil, Tupperware. Honestly 10/10. The only thing was no shampoo/conditioner/body wash - not an issue, but useful to know so can bring your own!

we loved the cottage ,so cozy and comfortable and very well equipped. It was an ideal base to explore the lake district. There are 2 local pubs within walking distance and within easy driving distance to Torver and Coniston. We would definitely recommend this place and will hopefully be back next time we visit the Lakes

Absolutely fantastic stay! Lovely and clean, cosy with everything we needed which made it so easy to relax. So much information was provided, when we got stuck we could work everything out for ourselves. The property was ready early and I got a message to say we could check in early which was super handy as we were ahead of schedule. Would really recommend as this is a great location to the lakes!

Beautiful lodge in a peaceful location! Really spacious and comfortable. It was lovely and clean. You can tell that a lot of love and care goes into this place. We had a wonderful time.

Wonderful place to stay for a chilled, romantic getaway. Views are incredible, essentials close by and plenty to do in the area. Amanda provided a more than detailed itinerary of what’s to be done in the area which proved beneficial. Place was clean and tidy with some complimentary chocolates and prosecco, can’t go wrong. Absolutely spot on, thanks!
