Nora was fantastic to work with, and the Birdhouse is well named and filled with small touches of home! Would love to come back again when the lake is thawed and explore more of the area!

This was a great getaway spot. Loved the big windows for beholding the lake and sunsets. Very clean and cozy with a well-supplied the kitchen and big wood supply for maximal enjoyment of the sauna and fireplace. The only added comforts would have come from some updated beds and pillows and a heads up about other guests in the space. Would definitely go back!

This is a great place to stay! The place was exactly as described and perfect for us. Really quiet area and beautiful setting, backing right up to the Michigan Tech trails. We came up here for a college visit and would definitely plan to stay here again whenever we are in Houghton.

The cabin is beautiful, pictures don't really do it justice. It had everything we needed for our stay and was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Follow the directions provided by the host, GPS will definitely take you to the wrong spot. Lance is very responsive and helpful. I made a booking error, he worked with me to get it taken care of when he didn't have to. Great location for family get aways. For those staying with littles, baby gates are a must for the stairs! If we plan on staying in the area again, this will be our number one choice! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

The house was beautiful and spacious. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking and baking items. There was even spices, oil, and non-perishable items (canned vegetables, bisquick, pancake mix, cereal etc). There was even homemade maple syrup in the fridge which was delicious. Country setting was peaceful. Sleep number bed in master bedroom, but it appears to be an older model or worn out cause it slopes toward the middle of the bed. There were DVDs, board games, books and toys in the living room. My girl scouts loved watching the cow. They even named it white chocolate. I would recommend this to anyone staying in the area and we will definitely stay again if in the area.

We had a great time celebrating an 80th birthday party at Eileen's home. This property is right on the water, which is very appealing. The Bay is peaceful and serene. We would bring our kayaks along if we stay again (boat landing near by). The steps to get to the water were a bit difficult for our older family members to navigate. We loved the flat greenspace for playing outdoor games. Handy to have on site laundry and open concept kitchen/ dining/ living room. The loft area is open to the kitchen, so not the best area for light sleepers or late rizers:) Loved our time there, it's a special place!!

This place was functional for what we needed for a week long stay. The host was very responsive and ready to go above and beyond for us to have a comfortable stay. We may be returning next year!

We stayed just two nights, but the place was cozy. I loved the memory lane experience of items that decorated the place. This is a quiet hideaway that makes it possible to unplug and just decompress from life. The lake was frozen and beautiful all at the same time.

My partner and I stayed at Monika’s quaint little cabin for a getaway to go cross country and downhill skiing last minute. The cabin was super cute and we loved the community cleaning aspect of it! The view of the river is spectacular from every window and we saw Red Polls and nuthatches even in the cold! The location is very private and tucked back. We loved the sauna and it heated up fairly quickly. The bed was super comfortable and had a great view from the A-frame window. Overall, a perfect spot to cozy up after long days skiing. We would love to return in the summer to see river when it’s melted and the trees are green.

We love it here! Jason's place is perfect for a large group, and has everything you need. Appreciate the 4 bathrooms, well stocked kitchen, plenty of parking space, comfy beds, and lots of space to spread out. Great location for access to the Birkie course. We look forward to coming every year!

I stayed this past weekend for a funeral. And I’d come back! Granted, I’m from Kingsford so I know the area. But this place is a little jewel. They even had a fire pit, with pre cut wood. What a thoughtful amenity! The host was responsive/ property clean. Everything an Airbnb should be. Kudos! 🙌🏻👍🏻 All said, a couple of minor small observations. -Dust the dining room chairs, especially the rails. (I inspected hotel rooms for 20+ yrs.). ☺️🤷‍♂️ -That sliding door didn’t instill confidence. -An electronic lock with a code would be awesome. -T-mobile internet. ($55 per mth). Hot spot works, but it’s a pain. Great job and appreciate your warm hospitality! Best, -B

The cottage is located on a beautiful property, wooded, with an inviting set of garden plots and farm fields. The owner is extremely kind and gracious. Added bonuses were the chickens roaming about and the small goat herd adjoining. The cottage itself is warm, inviting, impeccably maintained, and private. You can tell immediately the care these people put into their guests' experiences. My son and I went for a beautiful hike 5 minutes away, in Badfish Creek Wildlife area. Cannot think of a better experience or a more perfect place to let go and take in peace, rural beauty and restorative tranquility.

We had a lovely stay in a warm October weekend! The house is super clean and stays cozy even when it was chilly at night. The property is beautiful and it’s located a short drive from a great beach!

3td time staying with Julie!!! Absolutely lovely and peaceful. She even had a Christmas tree up and lights on the deck!!!! A wonderful place to stay!!

We were in the area for workshops. We were gone quite a bit but it was a very comfortable place to come back to at the end of the day. I would like to go back when I can spend more time at his place and on the lake.

This cabin was GORGEOUS. My wife and I had an excellent few days, then got snowed in and Kevin helped us extend for a few more! If you are coming in the winter, expect more snow than is forecasted and 4WD/AWD will be very helpful. The restaurant down the hill is within walking distance, and was a great stop for us. We had a fantastic time!

Located on the Wolverine ski trails was awesome. Winter wonderland in a fantastic setting and was truly magical during snow storms. Our two dogs were equally impressed

The cabin was cozy and cute. We enjoyed skiing at Ski Brule. The cabin is unique as it has three decks to enjoy the beautiful view of the ski hills and the night sky.

Our large three-generation family group had plenty of room to comfortably spread out between the somwhat dated but clean, homey cabins. What worked out great for us was that the three families with children ages 1-12 and earlier wake up times were able to use the larger space while the smaller cabin accomodated the couples without children and allowed a bit of liesurely vacation sleep-in time. We prepared and ate our communal meals in the larger kitchen and spread beyond the big table to plentiful seating on the large deck. The view from the deck was lovely and the walk to the lake and dock easy going for all ages. We swam every day either from the sandy, pebbly entry to the water or from jumping off the dock and swimming out to the swim pad. The water was clean and relatively free of weeds close in to the dock area. The lake was peaceful and we made plenty of use of the pontoon, canoe and sit-on kayak, caught fish, and never felt crowded. Katelyn was super to work with.

Buckhorn is beautiful. This was our second time staying and we had a great time, as we hoped! We will absolutely be coming back regularly as a family!!! thanks Peg!

My boyfriend had a great time staying at the cabin. It was remote and intimate. We were able to put our phones down due to service being limited and really connect. We want to go back.
