Good location away from the town and great hospitality

Me and my husband had a great stay, we felt right at home. The house is right outside of Floyd, a very cute and quaint little town. I would highly recommend this place.

House was very clean . Everything you need for a comfortable stay was right there , even phone chargers! Bathrooms are brand new and super clean . Kitchen was well stocked, even had coffee for us. We loved making a big pot of coffee for everyone in the morning !! Lots of bedrooms . The road leading to the house was very narrow and hard to navigate at night but was fine during the day. We really enjoyed our stay !!

Had a lovely stay with our family and in-laws! Wish the lake was more swimable for our kids from the floating dock (lots of branches and pretty shallow). However, it was great for the kids to explore outside and use their binoculars! The beds were very comfortable, everything was clean and well cared for. We spent most of our time on the beautiful deck relaxing in the hammock and enjoying the view of the lake.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Beautiful scenery and great little getaway spot for a weekend! Joseph was very hospitable and helpful in making sure we had everything we need. We look forward to hopefully visiting again another time!

Lovely space with plenty of amenities. Very clean! Would highly recommend for big groups. Hosts were extremely flexible and responsive!

Beautiful house & location. We enjoyed our time just sitting and looking at the lake. The kitchen was very well stocked and we appreciated having a grill! We will definitely come back! Thank you so much!

Stunning mountain lake home! Managed by a thoughtful and responsive host. The perfect combo! Katie and her partner went out of their way to check on us after temperatures dropped into the 20s on Thanksgiving, and thoughtfully offered us flexibility with check out after we attended a late night Tech game. We love the house. Modern decor. Cozy beds. Well stocked (and clean!) The mountain roads take some getting used to navigating, but well worth it!

We had a fun time at Chris’ lake house. It was very clean, quiet, and had all the amenities as described. Hot tub (with its private surround) was enjoyable during the winter temps. Ample kitchen supplies since there aren’t any restaurants around. Make sure to get groceries beforehand!

We stayed here at the Hokie Home a second time and loved it even more than the first! It is located on a very peaceful section of the lake and we spent many delightful hours lounging on the top story of the dock. We also enjoyed eating on the decks and are grateful to have found a place that is dog friendly and has room for the whole family.

We loved our stay at Little Sycamore. It is a beautiful and peaceful place on the river. The hosts are wonderful people as are the neighbors. The view of the river is spectacular and it is tucked back off the main road so there is very little noise. Access to the river is excellent and we had alot of fun fishing and being out on the water. The hosts have worked very hard on the house and everything was spotless. We really like how convenient it was to the stores and amenities. The dogs had a great time playing in the back yard and in the river. The porch is a fantastic place to just sit and relax and listen to the sounds of the river. I highly recommend staying at Little Sycamore. We definitely plan on making future reservations.

Me and my best friend really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful riverfront oasis. The house was very clean and comfortable with incredible views. Lots of comfy seating. We really enjoyed sitting by the fire and enjoying the view! The town is really cute and the people are really sweet. We visited the area for hiking which there’s lots to do. We hiked cascade Falls and Desmal Falls. Very beautiful area can’t wait to return again someday.

A long weekend at this vacation spot was just what my son, granddaughter, and I needed. The house was clean, inviting, and well organized. We relaxed on the porch and listened to the river. For a couple of days the river was swift and cloudy, but once it cleared and we could see the bottom, we took our floats and waded right in, oooh chilly! And afterward we managed those flights of steps back up ( ages 8-73). Driving up from NC we stopped in Mt Airy for some photo ops. Other side trips were Mabry Mill, Nancy's Candies, and the Friday Night Jamboree and street music in Floyd. What a treat! As we left the area we toured Mountain Music Museum near Galax and enjoyed the Noon time Music in the Breezeway. Our favorite eats were the home cooked veggies and meals at Crooked Oak Restaurant. If you would like to sit beside the river or the fire pit you might want to bring along a couple of lightweight folding chairs. Can't think of anything else you'll need.

What an absolutely perfect place! The house is beautiful and the views are even better. We spent most of the time outside kayaking, grilling and sitting by the fire. The house was very comfortable and I can’t think of anything that we needed that wasn’t provided. The beds were all very comfortable, even the bunk beds. Mitchel and Bobbie were fantastic hosts, very fast to communicate and very helpful with where to get groceries and even where to trout fish! We will definitely be back!
