Peaceful and private location with very friendly hosts, who greeted us and walked us through all the amenities. Comfortable beds, lovely big shower and a beautiful view. If you need a place to stay in Rostrevor I recommend it highly!!

The Cottage at River Fane Retreat was idyllic. The private front garden caught the afternoon sun while the terrace at the back was right beside the river. The only thing missing was a small wardrobe to hang your clothes and a double seat on the terrace for extra romance. The jacuzzi, sauna and plunge pool were spotless and the owner came in daily to treat the jacuzzi with chlorine. He also took the bins away, which kept the cottage smelling fresh. The birdsong and dawn chorus was lovely to hear everyday and the babbling of the river was mesmerising. It was chilly to use the bathroom as it was outdoors so we were blessed it was a sunny weekend when we were there as it would be uncomfortable to shower outdoors in the winter. The kitchen was functional and the outdoor pizza oven heated up quickly. The host provided lots of logs and firelighters for the oven and the indoor stove so we didn’t run out. They also left chocolates and wine which was a lovely touch. Overall, a fab place!

Absolutely stunning, homely, beautiful, spacious and practical. Each bedroom and bathroom is beautifully designed with love and care as well as interesting art work. Views are outstanding and it feels amazing to wake up in such a nice peaceful place. Everything was clean and it is full of useful appliances. Host was friendly, helpful and went above and beyond. Would highly recommend a stay here and hope to visit back here again.

My New Zealand Guests were in awe of the beautiful location where the southern Mournes really do sweep down to the sea. Rostrevor is a picturesque location where Oak Woods fuse into Pine Forests and Alpine grassy hills that can offer accessible breathtaking panoramic views right down the east coast of Ireland, deep into the counties of Ulster and even across to the Isle of Man on a clear day. With the myths and legends of the Giants , not to mention walkable Fairy Glens, celebrated in music, song and poetry on the Fiddlers Green (and in the local pubs), it is no wonder the words of C S Lewis rambles with you as you trek the hills and glades of this enchanting place. With a history still there to be inhaled from Ross of Bladensburg to Castles and Squires and a living modern day monastic settlement of Cistercian Monks this place is a melody of life where it lifts your heart to where your soul is content. And where Sharon reigns as the perfect Host ! TheTruells of New Zealand.

I had an incredible stay at Hilltop Hideaway! From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the breathtaking views and the peaceful, secluded setting. The pod was spotlessly clean, beautifully designed, and had everything I needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. I highly recommend Hilltop Hideaway and would love to return in the future!
