We were absolutely happy with this beautiful accommodation. The view of the glacier was stunning, and at night, we enjoyed the starry sky and even the Northern Lights. Whenever we had any issues, we received quick and helpful support. The hot tub was an amazing highlight!

We had a lovely stay and appreciated the proximity to the southern coast sights. The host was very responsive and flexible about our check-in. We previously stayed in the cabin before the new addition, and the new wing of the cabin and the hot tub and deck are wonderful. Comfortable beds, multiple bathrooms, and the perfect amount of space for our family of four to spread out after a day of exploring! A great home base for the south coast!

It was a convenient location for the Vestmannaeyjar Islands (Heimey) and other attractions along the N-1 - Skogafoss, the plane on the beach at Solheimandur, Reynisfjara, etc. Also not a bad drive to Reykjadalur. It was lovely to also feel so out-of-the way and quiet in the evenings after long days of sightseeing.

We loved our stay at Hrífunes! Such a special and remote spot. Comfortable accommodations and looked just like the photos. We enjoyed the sauna and hot tub and saw a glimpse of the northern lights. Feels like a really special gem, super remote but still convenient to area attractions and Vik. Perfect for our family of four.

Beautiful place, in a beautiful location! We had so much fun

It was a very lovely place. We had great views and there were some lovely walking trails. We entered to a perfectly clean house with two bathrooms and three bedrooms and everything was perfectly clean. The heated floors were also so very nice. But the thing that stood out to us the most were the sauna and hot tub. The sauna was amazing and the hot tub had a spectacular view. As other reviewers have pointed out, it takes about four hours to heat up the hot tub, so be prepared. Finally, it was so peaceful to feel alone with my family in nature, far removed from the cares of my life. Wish I’d stayed longer.

Amazing place with large rooms and space. Quiet and out of the way, cloudy so no aurora sighting but we enjoyed the place. Clean and had almost everything u need in the kitchen.

Clean and comfortable home in the middle of Vik. A short walk to a wonderful burger joint/brewery and the Lava show. This place was ideal for our family with our toddler because it was all one level, a few toys were available and crib and high chair were also available for our use. We hope to visit again.

The house is as described. It is quite small. Not much room for relaxing together in the living room and the bathroom is very small. I’m not saying this as a negative, as it is accurately described, but you should be aware. Also, there is not much to watch in the tv. With that being said, it’s incredibly clean and in a great location for any tour of the south coast. Vik has 3 to 4 restaurants that are near the home and a large tourist center, which has groceries and a large tourist shop. Lena is very responsive to questions.

A beautiful home in a perfect location. Ragnar was extremely helpful and very friendly with great local reccomendations, clear instructions and always on hand. We would love to stay again!

What an amazing stay! We loved this place- right on Black Sand Beach. I was worried about the cold in April but it wasn’t colder on the beach to other locations, and the cabin was toasty. We really appreciated the scenery and it was a short drive into Vik for restaurants. The hosts were responsive and shared local info. We saw a puffin on our night walk! Highly recommend!

Wir waren eine Nacht in der Unterkunft und rundum zufrieden. Die Unterkunft liegt abgelegen und ruhig, in der Nacht hatten wir das Glück und konnten die Polarlichter sehen.

My family (me, my wife, and 3 children under 7 years old) stayed here and it was one of the highlights of our entire trip. Martina and Jón were so kind and welcoming. The breakfast they made was delicious. Getting to explore the farm with the farm animals had my children asking if we could stay longer. Martina and Jón were very easy to talk to and they were also great with our children. I would love to come back if I have the chance and would absolutely recommend the stay for any family. Downtown Vik was a short drive away, and we appreciated the quiet seclusion the farm offered. 10 out of 10.

Good spot to stop and rest before continuing on to the next destination on the island

We absolutely adore this place and have just been back for a second stay. The location is magic. The cabin is super charming, clean, cosy, welcoming and full of character. It is lovely to see that past guests have left behind little things to add to the decor and make it feel very special. The privacy and middle of nowhere feeling you get there are amazing. There are only two points we feel worth mentioning as little downsides to this cabin: The shower is tiny - it is more like something you'd find in a small caravan. The two single beds are very narrow and for some adults maybe not a very comfortable choice. All in all we'd never let those facts keep us from coming back. We LOVE this place.
