This was the best place to spend Valentine’s weekend. The surroundings were surreal. We will be visiting again! Would recommend to anyone who wants to connect to nature. It is most definitely a little piece of heaven!

We had an amazing weekend here. The little pool with a view of the whole valley was a highlight. There's a pizza oven that I didn't even see in the description. Unfortunately it was too hot to hike, but it looks like a wonderful location for that, with several trails. I don't know what's up with the 4 stars -- if there was ever a problem it seems to be solved now.

We had a great stay in Sutherland. Everything was there, Marne was very helpful and the cottage offers all you need. Would come back :-)

Home away from home. Beautiful house, beautiful surroundings, close to everything. Very friendly host. Will definitely recommend them.

Amazing breakaway from reality. Absolutely breathtaking views, hundreds of proteas, views of the mountains, great plant and bird life. Very private, quiet and off the grid house. Pearson (property manager) was very helpful and kind. Very organised check in etc. Farm is up Middleberg pass - dirt road is well maintained but does require a slow drive up - especially in rain and mist. Would recommend for a breakaway from city life.

My boyfriend, our 3 dogs and I stayed for my birthday weekend. The cottages are perfect, the bed is super comfy, the day bed outside the kitchen is the perfect chill spot. The donkey shower is easy to get going and gives you an amazing hot shower. Loved the little details, body scrub in the shower, cute pot of honey in the kitchen. The view is gorgeous and we even got to see a lightning storm in the valley below the cottage. You could probably hike the whole farm over a week, so many great trails to walk and run. The dam was a bonus on a hot day after a hike. The host Hope was lovely and very responsive. Would also be an epic winter getaway spot, I would have loved to get the indoor fires going. Loads of wildlife on the farm, heard baboons in the distance on the mountain, saw various bokkies, zebra & horses. Perfect place for ours dogs to roam around, they're completely exhausted. I can't fault the place, it's wonderful and I would 10/10 stay again

Bass fishing heaven. In 5 days we caught 50 bass, 20 catfish plus other fish seen & caught. Open water swimming bliss. You have 1,5km of dam plus 500m of river to swim in our kayak. They have kayaks available above and below the dam wall. Tip, if you visit in summer, take a mosquito net, then you can sleep on the stoep and cool off in the breeze. Jan was 40 deg centigrade...

We had a wonderful stay at Michael’s cottage in the Cederberg. The vast splendor of the open space as the tiny, yet perfectly adequate and comfortable cottage is nestled amongst giant rocks and Cederberg mountains. With hints of a Himalayan mountain retreat, sunrises, mountain magical pool dips, a blanket of stars, one could loose oneself for days.

Absolutely incredible spot! Michael has created a truly unique and beautiful South African experience. We loved everything about our stay and will definitely come back.

We had a perfect, restful stay in this little gem. The cottage is carefully sited on a rocky hillside overlooking the surprisingly green valley below. Stephanie was the ideal host, and was available throughout. The best part of this place is the indoor/outdoor lifestyle, highlighted by a verandah that felt larger than the home itself. We highly recommend this tranquil getaway, and look forward to our next visit in the future!

Beautiful cottage with all you need for a comfortable stay just a few minutes walk from the beach. So peaceful and amazing bird life in the nature reserve. We loved our stay and will be back!
