New Forest District : séjours à la ferme

Just returned from a long weekend, staying at The Barn at Rotherwood. We were a group of 4 adults (2 couples) and had a great time. The Barn was perfect for us - really comfortable, clean and very well equipped. Debbie was very responsive and left us a really generous welcome hamper for our arrival - thank you Debbie! It was perfectly situated, on the edge of Itchenor, and was easy to get to Chichester, Bosham and the Witterings from there. We would recommend staying here!

Just come back from a two night stay in the Haybarn. It was very relaxing and comfortable and warm. Pippa was very communicative and responded to questions very quickly. Check-in was extremely easy and the location directions very easy to find. There was everything you needed in the property with some little added extras ie milk tea coffee sugar shampoo and things like that. Having the pool right next door to the living room was amazing although heated it was still a tad cold but you can’t please everyone not a complaint but personal choice. The bed was extremely comfortable and bed linen of a high standard. You would need to drive to local shops for provisions as too far to walk.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Orchard Cottage. New Forest is a place of outstanding beauty and there are so many lovely trails, pubs and activities around. The cottage itself was beautiful! Hot tub and sauna were also an added bonus. Chris was a brilliant host. He made sure we knew what we were doing with the hot-tub and was able to give us plenty of recommendations for what to do/pubs and a brilliant running track. He went the extra mile to make it special for us! Thank you so much :)

Stylishly decorated Homemade jams and granola, honey, yoghurt, and bought-in croissants, tea and coffee left for us Very good log burner Natasha recommended a great pub nearby Slight quibbles- (hyper critical): Shower room a little functional Fair amount of owner's stuff about - e.g material swatches, 'Dad rock' albums and hifi . Overall, I recommend highly.

This is an outstanding, peaceful retreat with top of the line fixtures and fittings. Melanie is very welcoming and friendly and the type of host who thinks of all the small details to make your stay as relaxing and comfortable as possible. The bedding and mattress were truly comfortable. The barn is such a beautiful, light space. We were after a quiet retreat in nature, and this was it! Horses, sheep, nesting birds on the doorstep and within very close proximity (5 minute drive) to Haslemere. We spent one day exploring in Winchester, as I'd never been - a great place! Good restaurants, cafés etc and a rich history. We will definitely come back!

Hayley is fabulous, very accommodating and friendly. Willow barn is gorgeous, very well equipped and in a perfect location for us exploring Romsey and the surrounding area. We’d definitely recommend Hayley and Willow Barn.

Bobbie's place was spotlessly clean, homely and the little touches like fresh flowers on the table and the kids' toys, gave Johns Barn, such a special feel. Perfect for family holidays. Being out in the country, watching the occasional tractor go by and enjoying the deer and the bird life everyday, made for a very relaxing stay. Bobbie was so friendly and accommodating and we hope to visit again one day!

A second very comfortable stay, thank you! This is a beautiful, well equipped, spotlessly clean and comfy property. The hot tub is brilliant, with lovely views over the fields behind. We also appreciated all the thought that has gone into making guests comfortable, from the fresh milk and local cheese in the fridge, to the home made cake, to the stove made up ready to light, and not to forget the extremely comfy beds. Communication was always prompt, friendly and helpful - we were very grateful for the flexibility around check in and check out times. We will hope to come back!

A really nice place, with a great host!

Nicky and Mark’s place is beyond perfection! Waking up to a picturesque farm with lots of sheep was unexpectedly calming! My husband and I could gaze at the view all day long. Everything exceeds our expectations. We could really feel how much care and effort they put into designing this Airbnb, aesthetically and practically. All the home decorations go so well with the wooden fixtures and neutral colors. The amount of windows and lights make the house very well-lit. The kitchen is stocked with seasonings and tools for guests to cook with no fuss. Complimentary milk and flowers were offered too. A great selection of books and games were supplied. I particularly love how they support their community by promoting local businesses and attractions in their house guide and curating tons of reading materials about the surroundings and Wiltshire. This is hands down the best Airbnbs I’ve stayed in. This barn house honestly is the best place to rewind and recharge. Will definitely come back!

Was perfect for a Valentines getaway! We are so grateful to Sam and Adrian for extending their hospitality, they truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to make sure we had plenty of information about the surrounding area! We have to give our thanks also to William who provided lots of snacks and drinks through his tuck shop :) The barn itself was cosy yet spacious, the bed was super comfortable and water pressure in the shower was decent. The kitchen was fully-equipped for us to make a beef wellington on Valentines night!! Even the temperatures were near freezing - that didn’t stop us from taking full advantage of the fire place out on the patio! Overall we had a wonderful stay and would love to come and stay again! Thank you again Sam, Adrian and William!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Thatch. Lisa was a fantastic host, and we particularly loved the animals, especially Horace the peacock. The location was perfect, as were the scones and prosecco that we greatly appreciated! They were a lovely extra touch. The Airbnb was very cosy, had everything we could have needed, and there was great attention to detail. All in all a wonderful stay!

A second stay in this lovely property. Great that we could enjoy the super outside area in the great weather!

We had a great stay at Kim’s property, it was the perfect location to get to Bath, Bristol and head into the Cotswolds. Everything was clean, neat and tidy when we arrived. There was plenty of utensils and various items available for us to cook with and we didn’t feel like we were missing anything. Recommended. If we are ever in the area we will be sure to stay here again!

My husband and I stayed at the brewhouse for 3 nights to explore Frome and attend a wedding nearby. The property is in a great location for walking into the centre of Frome and also has a nice riverside walk on the doorstep. The property is stylish and homely with lots of nice touches.

We had a fantastic 4-night family holiday at this lovely cottage. It was perfect for us and our two little daughters. Ana was a wonderful host—very responsive and communicative before check-in, and she gave us a warm welcome with some delicious homemade bread. She thoughtfully had a travel cot setup ready for us, which made things so much easier. Her local pub recommendations, especially The Goat at Downton and The Horse & Groom (definitely book ahead!), were spot on. We’d highly recommend staying here!

The barn was just what we needed, a base to stay in to explore the island. The nature of the site means that there were a few creepy crawlies throughout our stay, it turned into a little sport as to what creatures we would find in the bathroom, daily. Not a criticism just something my husband wanted me to mention as this was a problem for him. The host was very friendly and showed us around explaining bits and bobs. The pub is worth a mention we ate there twice and both times were amazing. Sunday roast to die for and an evening meal all met with a friendly smile and chat, within walking distance, wear wellies. Just to the lane a small run farm shop with an honesty payment scheme, good local produce (not cheap) delicious cheese.

Carol’s place is very comfortable and luxurious - just as described in the listing. It’s a perfect location within walking distance of all the amenities in the lovely village of Marshfield and close to Bath and Bristol. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful relaxing stay. Kate was really helpful with check in and recommendations responding quickly to any questions. High quality furnishings made our break feel like home from home and we would definitely recommend The Den.

We have just spent three nights at Poplar Farm Barns and enjoyed our time hugely. The barns are beautifully renovated with high-end fixtures, fittings and furnishings. Immaculately clean as well. The surroundings are lovely with excellent views from the property. My kids loved the free-roaming chickens, and the horses in the neighbouring field. Holly and Charley were very welcoming and friendly. Everything was just as we’d hoped and our family will definitely return.

Harriet’s cute Barn Conversion was perfect for our West Country road trip. Plenty of space, cool, tranquil decor. Lovely hard floors and underfloor heating which was easy as we had x2 dogs with us. We enjoyed cooking with the well stocked kitchen and games after dinner. Comfy sofa area which easily fitted us four! It really was a perfect stay, with comfy beds and fluffy towels. The garden was just coming into bloom & I bet is beautiful in the summer months. Do not hesitate to book! Thanks, Jo & family.

Stayed for 3 nights and it was the perfect get away. Sally was great communicating and always happy to help. The house was nice, clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Located in the peaceful countryside but with great pubs/restaurant and the seaside nearby. would definitely recommend!

I felt very at home! The barnlet is spotlessly clean, homely and has everything you need! It really is very well equipped! Hayley has clearly thought of everything! Host is very helpful, extremely responsive and friendly! Made an effort to say "Hello", which is always nice! I felt very relaxed and safe! The area is private and felt very secure. It truly is a wonderful countryside retreat! I will be returning if it's available when I need it again in the future! I HIGHLY recommend this place!

A beautiful cosy cabin in the middle of the forest! 🌲 A great place to stay for a few nights, with lots of different walks right on your doorstep. The log burner was a great touch and made our evenings so cosy. It would have been even better if there was another foot stool to put your feet up when watching TV. I would also bear in mind if you’re after a completely peaceful stay is that it’s located right next to a road so was slightly noisy, but the cars weren’t too frequent. The bed was very comfortable! Astrid was so friendly, allowing us a flexible check in and gave us information about the area 🦌 We were also kindly left a cake and fresh milk! Would definitely recommend and stay again, thank you 😊
