We had an incredible family weekend with two young children. The house is absolutely beautiful, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made it feel like home. The kitchen was the heart of the house for us, fully equipped with everything we needed. The unique charm of the house was a delightful touch, and the kids had a blast exploring both indoors and out. Marcus, the host, went above and beyond—he even came out to find us when we had trouble locating the entrance. He gave us a comprehensive tour and made sure we knew how everything worked. The pool area was wonderfully private, and the hot tub was a lovely addition. The rooms were very comfortable, with stunning furniture and textiles. The grounds were breathtaking, providing the perfect setting for al fresco dining in a peaceful and glorious environment. Shame we hadn't planned a longer stay.

We had a great stay - the house is peaceful, quiet, clean, and especially cosy with the woodburner on! Richard and Jo were excellent hosts, very friendly and accommodating, and offered great advice on places to visit nearby with our two small children. We all slept amazingly well (very unusual with a 1 and 3 year old); the beds were comfy and it was so quiet. The house is well set up for visiting with toddlers - there are toys, books, stair gates etc. and the large garden is great to let them run around in. We would absolutely return, especially in the summer to really make use of the beautiful garden.

Me & my friends had a great weekend here. The facilities were excellent (the indoor swimming pool, pool table, darts board, table tennis, cinema room and outdoor space) and enabled us to have a very fun weekend with multiple activities without having to leave the home. Additionally Gary was an excellent host, responding swiftly to any questions and queries we had. Would recommend to anybody considering.

I came here for my 23rd birthday with my friends as we wanted a chill Christmas atmosphere and we got exactly that! The owners were very kind a friendly and went over and above for us! The only negative is that there is nothing around and if you want to walk to a pub, restaurants or shops it’s either a 1hour+ or a deep dive walk in a forest or field… this was difficult as we had 6 people and one car. But I everything was amazing we will be coming back again!

We had a wonderful stay at Emmas apartment. There are so many small details that have been done to make us feel welcome and at home. We loved it. This is an ideal place to stay if you have children as there are some toys and books possible to use, as well as a cot and safety gate to keep the little ones safe. This might be the cleanest apartment we have ever stayed at, so a big shout out to the person responsible for cleaning. The only negative thing I can think of is that the floor in the bathroom can get a bit cold (so bring slippers) and the bed was a bit too soft for our preferences and squeeks a bit, but this is minor details. All in all a wonderful place and great value. We hope to stay again. Emma and her parents who lives next door are very kind and helpful. We forgot a toy and they were happy to help us get it back. Emma is also very easy to communicate with and have clear instructions that are easy to understand. Thank you so much for everything.

The place was very peaceful and accurate description. Very cosy and lovely log burner with lots of wood - great for the little pooches would stay again

Really enjoyable stay for myself & my family this weekend. The place is beautiful & the attention to detail makes the place feel incredibly homely. Couple of minor issues with the WiFi & the hot water, but the host was extremely helpful & the issues didn’t impact on our stay or us thoroughly enjoy our time. We will definitely be back again & would highly recommend the place to anyone looking to enjoy a weekend or stay at Holly Nook. The local pubs are also a major selling point for the place & the local walking routes are perfect for those wanting to get some fresh air, or anyone with dogs.

We stayed in the Manor for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with our relations from Australia. We had a fantastic stay! The rooms were a perfect size and could fit us all in for games and entertaining ourselves, the kitchen was fully stocked with all the crockery and glassware we needed, the children loved the games room and the hot tub and the house was beautifully adorned with Christmas decorations. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this characterful house.

We used this lovely home while waiting for the purchase of our new home to complete, we wanted somewhere in Chesterfield that was going to feel like a home and be comfortable while I’m undergoing chemo, Winston’s home ticked every box and our 2 dogs and 2 house cats definitely approved, the garden is secure and safe, parking outside was perfect, we couldn’t have picked a better property, even suppling a Christmas tree and decorations made it that much more special, thank you 🙏

Elaine could not do enough to make my Mum and Dads stay more comfortable. Communication was great and nothing was too much trouble. The place is cosy yet has a unique twist. My Dad is a big fan of the reclining seats! The location is perfect if you are looking for a quiet get away with a top notch garden. Thanks Elaine!

Stayed at Rebecca’s place with my three little ones and it was a real pleasure, from the moment we walked through the door we felt right at home! The kids had plenty of space to run and play, the home is lovely and spacious with a nice size back garden. We live in Melbourne but often visit family and friends in England, this place will be number 1 on my list for my next visit if there’s availability! Would definitely recommend for families, has everything you would need and location was perfect, central to everything but very peaceful.

The place was ideal for a family Christmas. We were able to spend time all together. Spacious house. Everyone had their own bathroom and bedroom. Great open space. Ideal location in the village. Lee was always responsive . Will recommend the place . Thank you
