We had a lovely stay with our 3 dogs at heron view, we enjoyed the spacious living area and comfortable beds. The utility space was a great nook for the dogs if they were wet from walking. Lovely local pub (the Masonic) with friendly people and bar staff. The hot tub was a massive bonus! Thanks Donald We will be back!

Lizzie was a fantastic host, she responded to messages and even allowed us to extend our stay into the afternoon. The house was lovely we will definitely look at booking again in the new year. Thank you

Helens place was so lovely. Right on the sea front, it was wild and wintery when we stayed which actually added to our stay in a way! Loved listening to the noise of the wind and waves. Hot tub was a nice touch.

We loved our stay. The house (Byre) is beautiful and far more spacious than photos give credit for. Added bonus for us, wheelchair accessable from patio doors into kitchen/dinning/lounge area. Wheelchair accessible into downstairs bathroom/shower and bedroom. There is a shower stool in cupboard next to bathroom. The upstairs landing area has a cosy couch/snug between bedrooms and upstairs toilet/Shower room. Beautiful scenory surrounding Cottages and we all completely felt at home and relaxed instantly. House very clean and fresh. Stranraer in walking distance with pavement at road end of cottages. Lovely walking options around cottages. Kitchen comes very well equipped and decent sized fridge freezer. We look forward to returning.

We had an incredible stay at the yurt! Alison and Brent were wonderful hosts – friendly, responsive, and full of great recommendations for local attractions. The yurt itself was exactly as described, providing everything we needed for a perfect getaway. After a day of adventure, relaxing in the hot tub under the stars was the perfect way to unwind. Alison and Brent truly made our holiday unforgettable with their thoughtful touches and hospitality.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Appletree cottage. The location is perfect for walking into Keswick, and being on the outskirts meant we arrived quickly, had parking, a garden and a bit of privacy. The house is lovely and homely, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hot was excellent and added a bit of luxury to our stay. We’d love to return and wouldn’t hesitate in booking Appletree Cottage again.

We absolutely loved our stay! The place was even better than described—so cosy and well-equipped. The jacuzzi was just amazing, with a beautiful view that made it extra special. We had such a wonderful time and would definitely come back. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed this little cottage. It provided everything we needed. Janet had provided welcome snacks and wine. She also responded quickly and kindly to any questions we had. We had sunny weather and sat out in the back garden which was well kept. Thank you Janet for being lovely host.

A lovely stay in a beautiful bungalow that was absolutely pristine, cosy and very comfortable indeed. There was a bottle of wine and some shortbread waiting for us when we arrived! John was friendly and communicated throughout, we didn’t have any issues to ask about but if we had I’m sure we would have got a quick response. The views were wonderful and the area was really quiet and peaceful. We had some nice trips out, Threave Gardens , Moffat and Kippford stood out but the area was lovely with very friendly people. We can’t wait to return!

The Summer House exceeded our expectations. It is more spacious than it looks on the photos. It is very nicely furnished and decorated and is cosy and warm. Penny has thought of everything to make your stay an enjoyable one . Her directions to get there were easy to follow and she recommended several places for us to visit also with clear directions . Archie, her husband , is also very knowledgeable about the island and is very approachable. All in all, we had a lovely time and would highly recommend a stay at Knockenkelly.

This was a brilliant place to stay in Keswick. It was quiet and tucked away with a parking space but very easy to walk into town. There are some fantastic local restaurants within a few steps. The accommodation was perfect for us and our teenage children. The kitchen was well equipped and everything was very clean and tidy. We really liked the lobby area to remove shoes and hang coats etc before heading upstairs. Thank you ☺️

The hut is a great little retreat within very peaceful surroundings. The hut is very well hidden from normal garden visitors and you have a little secret path behind the hut that takes you into the garden. As you have access to the grounds outside of the normal opening hours its feels very special to be able to come and go as you please. We are not used to electric showers, so had a little fun and games on our first night getting the shower to run hot, seemed to take ages to get hot. But once we got the hang of it (think you have to press and hold the button), the shower is really good. The fridge is a little small for long stays, its a bit like fridge Tetris, things squeezed or balanced on one another, so either take a cool box like we did or keep you fridge requirements to a minimum (door shelfs are only wide enough for a Mars bar, only a small bottle of milk will fit on the internal shelf). Tessa leaves milk, butter and croissants, but the garden cafe also does nice food.

We had an amazing time at Gary and Leah’s place. It’s a beautiful modern home with very well appointed kitchen and nice enclosed outdoor space for us and for our dog - especially good as the sun was shining for our trip. One of the best locations we’ve stayed in, right next to the river and seafront area with beautiful views. Appreciated the speedy response from Gary and Leah and their local contact Iain. We had one issue with a leak from our upstairs shower and the problem was dealt with very promptly and a refund was offered without prompting for the inconvenience. It’s a great home in a stunning location and I would happily return when we’re next in Ayr.

Ruth’s cottage was a great property, the cleanliness and ease of access to the property were second to none. We felt right at home and very much enjoyed the homely atmosphere of the house. Would 100% recommend using this property for any group who are looking to visit the island. As a group of guys on a golfing trip it was the perfect location with all courses on the island within a half hour drive and an easy 17 minute journey from the ferry terminal to the property.

I had a wonderful relaxing stay at Burnbrae byre, it was peaceful, relaxing, very luxurious I loved the rolltop bath. Comfy bed, peaceful sleep. Beautiful surroundings, I was lucky to have lovely weather with clear night skies for stargazing Alison and Andrew were friendly and responsive hosts and I can’t thank them enough for a lovely break away.

We spent 5 nights here at the end of March and start of April 2025. We were really fortunate with the weather and took full advantage of the wonderful location: scaling Slight Side and Scafell on one day, riding to Coniston via the bridleway on another and 'bagging' most of the Coniston fells on another day via Wrynose Pass. We ate in on a couple of nights and also went to the Wainwright's for some pub grub, as well as Stoves for their evening menu. Simon and Belinda's place is very well situated in Great Langdale for all kinds of walks and rides, food and decent pints. The house itself is a lovely place to return to in the evening with easy parking outside for our van and once inside, everything is spotless, well equipped and cosy. We really appreciated all the helpful information on bike routes and walking routes and spent the late evenings by the fire pouring over the Wainwright books planning the next day's adventures. 100% recommended.

Had a family weekend which was great from start to finish. The lodge was lovely, clean and actually better than described. Beautiful surroundings with lovely pub for food. Swimming pool was great too. Overall amazing experience - thank you, Sarah.

What a lovely, lovely place to stay. The lodge manages to be both cosy and spacious at the same time. There are three really nice bedrooms plus three bathrooms and the main living space is big, with plenty of space for lounging, reading, playing games or watching the tv after a day at the beach. The thing I always love when I go to stay anywhere is great bedding and the lodge was not a disappointment! The downstairs double bed had the most incredible duvet, huge and fluffy and warm - lovely for lying in bed in the morning looking at the great view from the french doors with a cup of tea. We used the swimming pool, using the booking system, which was nice. You book a session in the pool, which you have for your own use during your session. Having the pool to ourselves was a bit of a treat! There is a lovely pub on site too, although we sat outside due to the current situation, we went in to order drinks and it was really nice inside. Though no local beer, which would have been nice. The lodge is within walking distance of a really amazing, amazing beach - just beautiful. You can do lots of really great walks from the lodge, along the beach or the coastal walk, as well as through the many lovely forests in the area. We were lucky enough to see red squirrels! Despite some slight issues with communication (down to a problem with technology and not on their part) we had a wonderful time and are very much looking forward to returning. We would really recommend Barend as a wonderful place to visit, the lodge was absolutely gorgeous (did I mention the amazing duvet?!) and just a few minutes walk from the most incredible beach. A perfect trip away. We will absolutely be making a return trip

Brilliant stay at Barend. The lodge was as described, clean and cosy and in a lovely peaceful location. Having exclusive use of the pool was also fun! We found it so relaxing it was hard to leave 😅

We had an absolutely superb stay at this cabin! The hosts have thought of everything—every household utensil, cleaning product, and appliance we needed was readily available. It truly felt like a home away from home. We also appreciated the thoughtful extras, like the collection of games, DVDs, and books, which made for cozy evenings indoors. The stuffed toy dogs were a lovely touch for the children, and they adored them! The cabin was spotless, and we were impressed with how well-organized everything was, including the garbage disposal system. The private pool was a fantastic addition, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Overall, this was one of the best stays we’ve had, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommend!

We had a great weekend at Fir Garth. The house was well equipped for our group of 10: Good sized en-suite bedrooms with comfy beds and cosy duvets, a really well equipped kitchen ( we did lots of cooking), the main living was a great sized space, a projector, games, an extra snug room, outdoor space etc. The location was excellent, pub and shop within walking distance, excellent walks in the area, a beautiful view, quiet, easily accessible. We all agreed we would definitely come to the house again.
