This is a fabulous luxury stay. The space has been outfitted with the highest attention to detail. The experience is marvellous - Victoria can take you on a tour of the temple and give a bit of her husband’s family history. It was a little tricky to find initially (buy putting the temple in as the destination put us on the right track) and Victoria was in constant communication. It is within very close proximity to the Takachiho Gorge and a wealth of natural beauty. If you just want to chill the area is rural and very peaceful. We had the first night to ourselves and then shared with a very respectful group from Taiwan. Can thoroughly recommend.

If you want a beautiful, relaxing, private experience for a small group (we had 5, and we were very comfortable) with simply amazing hosts, then look no further for your piece of rural Japanese heaven. We deeply enjoyed the sauna, cold plunge, fireplaces, restaurant on site, and unbeatable hospitality. The level of service and attention to detail makes the price well worthwhile, and the memories you will make will last a lifetime.

This is my 1st time booking a Japanese airbnb, have to submit Passport details for all the guests which was a first for me. A few steps required to go through to complete the booking, Other than that the place was spotless, convenient to park the car at the place itself which was a bonus. The challenge is the room is on the 2nd floor and you have to carry your luggage up the stairs. Not for elderly or those with kids. Thank you

和朋友们一起出游，房间非常温馨，房主应该是个非常热爱生活的人，房间有个留言本，看着五湖四海的人不同的留言非常有趣，有个大阳台适合晚上喝酒聊天，距离公交站很近，周边环境也很不错适合随便走走，有些缺点的话，就是上楼楼梯比较陡，房间窗帘不是很隔光，总之非常好评

Ons verblijf bij Kaoru was zo ontzettend fijn! Wij kwamen een beetje ziek aan en ze heeft ons enorm goed ontvangen en verzorgd. We voelden ons meteen op ons gemak en konden echt tot rust komen. Kaoru heeft heerlijk voor ons gekookt en alles aangepast aan onze dieetwensen. Ook heeft ze een keramiek workshop geboekt voor ons en voor ons het enzymen bad gemaakt. Wat een mooie ervaring was dat! Heel erg bijzonder! Het huis is prachtig met de hand gemaakt en vol van mooie authentieke spullen. Heerlijke zachte bedden en comfortabel beddengoed. Het is sfeervol, romantisch en rustig. Wij kwamen op het juiste moment want de twee prachtige kersenbomen kwamen in volle bloei. Wat een mooi kado! Vanuit ons slaapkamerraam leek het alsof de hemel gevuld was met de kersenbloesem! Dank je wel Kaoru voor alles en tot een volgende keer!

Choose this house, its spacious, clean and nice. Everyone of us like it so much. The queen mattress in the middle room is a bit too hard but its my personal preference. Great location, easy access to Aso.

Of all the airbnbs I have stayed over the years, this was probably my nicest experience to date. The site the property is located on is stunning. The house itself is traditional yet high end and tastefully decorated. I have never seen such a large wooden bath tub! The experienced available at the property are one of a kind: a peek into authentic Japanese culture. We did Kyudo and Taiko - both were very memorable in different ways. To top of off, the service provided was so accomodating, relaxed, and thorough. We didn't drive there, so were dropped at different restaurabts in the evenings. Transport options to the property were provided, and they even helped to book an onward taxi. Don't miss this place if you are visiting Kyushu.

Rica’s cabin in the woods was fantastic for a peaceful getaway on our Kyushu road trip. The highlight is the private 2 person onsen outside! The cabin itself is cozy and had everything we needed. The setting can’t be beat with a view the beautiful forest and the sound of the nearby rushing river. Rica was also very responsive and helpful during our stay. Highly recommended!
