North Yorkshire : séjours à la ferme

We had a terrific few days here. The place was immaculate. The pictures really don’t do it justice. It’s a lovely spacious building. The bedrooms are a great size and the beds are lovely and comfy. It’s really is a beautiful setting. Really peaceful. The views are breathtaking taking. Wayne is lovely with lots of tips for the local area. All in all we had a relaxing time, just what we needed! We would definitely return. Many thanks Wayne for a wonderful stay!

A cosy, secluded woodland setting with good walks straight from the door and the added bonus of horses stabled next door. Even without the unseasonal good weather we would have had a great break.

what a great place to stay. The property had been extended since we last visited. The shower room & sitting area with the most fabulous view was a great addition to the already very welcoming place to stay.

Loved our stay here and great for kids. There are some farm animals and plenty of toys which our son played with. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area!

We had a wonderful time at Pear Tree Barn. It was really comfortable and spotless throughout. Plus it’s located in a beautiful little village with lots to do in the local area. Cath was very helpful and friendly, and we’ll definitely be re-booking for next year.

Had a great visit! Very fortunate for John to be understanding and allow us to film our final student short film. John was always very quick to answer any questions, he was very understanding of filming which is always appreciated. The location was beautiful with some lovely surrounding scenery. Perfect for a peaceful getaway.

Lovely place, walking distance to the village. Everything we needed for a few nights away to chill after our wedding.

We had a lovely stay in the cottage over New Year’s Eve. The wood burner made it feel very cosy, and it’s really well equipped - it has pretty much everything you might need for a few nights stay. The location is perfect for walking - we did a couple straight from the cottage, with really varied landscapes which were absolutely stunning, including rivers, big vistas and farmland, ending with an excellent pub in Gunnerside. Just a couple of things, which wouldn’t bring my review score down but worth noting - we couldn’t get the washing machine to work, which didn’t really matter to us but worth checking with Harriet if it’s an essential. Also, the hairdryer wasn’t great so worth bringing your own if your hair takes hours to dry like mine! Lastly, the sound system is pretty old and doesn’t have Bluetooth, so better bring a speaker if you like listening to music. Overall, we loved the cottage and had a fantastic stay!

The house was everything we could have expected. In a quiet spot with great views and sheep to greet you in the morning. The furniture and beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed. Two bathrooms and an extra loo downstairs was very 'convenient'! As you can tell, we greatly enjoyed our short stay.

A beautiful barn conversion in the quaint village of Roughlee. Ideal situation for exploring the surrounding countryside.

A beautiful little cottage surrounded by nothing but peace. This little place gave us the opportunity to switch off and enjoy what was around us. Having an on-site ice cream parlour really made that bit more special. Very friendly hosts who were on hand if we needed them and gave local recommendations. Lovely little walk just behind the campsite and only a 5 second walk from the door to the gate which was great for our doggy. You never heard a peep from the campsite either! It was a perfect break away for us 😍

We had a lovely time away! Barry and Helen were brilliant hosts, we couldn’t fault it. Views were amazing and the place was cosy, clean and everything you needed ! We would definitely recommend and return ourselves.

We stayed for two days, the place was beautiful and everything we needed. We had great weather so made the most of the garden, and everything was in a short drive away. Would 100% recommend for anyone wanting a peaceful getaway.

Loved staying here, so peaceful and relaxing. Welcome basket was amazing, so thoughtful. Fire was great and instructions really helpful. Jacky was v responsive and proactive when needed, and flexibility with checkout as there was no one in afterwards was a huge blessing. I’d highly recommend here!

A beautiful cottage in truly stunning surroundings. There was everything you could possibly need to feel right at home. All of the instructions were extremely clear which was so helpful. Sarah was really responsive and happy to help with any queries. I couldn't recommend The Long Barn enough!

Amazing short break in the middle of the moors. The Granary was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Simon is a fab host and was very friendly. Brilliant garden for the lods to play in, peaceful surroundings and some amazing walks. We can't wait to come back

This was the fifth time we've stayed at this lovely cottage. As it's a converted barn, there is plenty of space; and it is well equipped and has plenty of parking. The area around is beautiful - lots of places to walk. Louise is a great host and communicates well. Unfortunately, there had been a problem with the central heating; but Louise let us know and provided alternative (electric) heaters so we were lovely and warm. She also provided extra logs for the log burner, but we didn't even get around to burning them. We had a lovely stay, and I'm sure we will be back.

As fabulous as expected. Ideal space for two couples, high spec accommodation with lots of room to relax . The kitchen is small if you intend to self cater but the facilities and equipment are excellent. We spent most of the time sat in the dining room watching the peacocks who wandered up to the window each day to be admired. Played tennis and walked into the nearby village along a public footpath 50 mins to a very good pub ( Dawnay Arms ) and evenings in the hot tub . Thoroughly enjoyed it, the host ( Lucy ) is onsite and is welcoming and supportive with communication without any intrusion . No hesitation recommending.

We had such a lovely week here! Within a day we were plotting our return. Karen's cottage is just gorgeous. Went with my other half and his parents and it was a perfect size for 4 (we then had a few days to ourselves after they left and great for 2 people as well). Wonderful views from the windows and from the front yard. It was a little cool for us to sit at the table outside but we did manage one lunch outside and in warmer weather it would be glorious both day and night. The house is clean, quiet, comfy beds, good shower, lovely decor, great woodburner, all mod cons needed in the kitchen, and really nicely done up. So ticks all boxes basically! The location is perfect - just 5 min walk to the little high street and the pubs (great pubs & great beer)and eateries there. Karen is great - super friendly and helpful - gave us lots of tips about the local area. And great to communicate with - replies within minutes. Def recommend and very much hope to return soon.

What can we say apart from we were gutted to leave David was very responsive and the property was beautiful , well equipped and with panoramic beauty The pool and hot tub were fabulous and both parts of the accommodation wonderful . We came as a family holiday with our lovely dog Beautiful scenery , stunning walks straight from the farm to the surrounding villages including the pub the Queens arms for Sunday lunch which had food to die for especially the pies ! Before our stay David was responsive and also gave us helpful info and fabulous instructions to the property . We used the BBQ as blessed with wonderful weather this weekend . David’s neighbours were also lovely and welcoming . It was the most wonderful of stays in the most beautiful part of the Dales . As others have said you literally do not want to leave the property as it’s fabulous , homely , well equipped and well thought out .The walk behind the cottage to the top of the hills gave beautiful panoramic views.

We loved our stay at pond cottage. The location was great and the views from the hot tub were amazing. We enjoyed all the little extra touches such as the dressing gowns, fresh bread, cookies, jam and milk. We had everything we needed and had a very comfortable stay. We would definitely return.

I’m sure my daughter and grand daughter enjoyed their stay. They sent me photographs and it looked so cosy. They were particularly delighted with the proximity of the stepping stones across the river.
