Lovely cottage in an ideal location. Comfortable stay for both people and doggos. Hot tub was a treat after a long day walking!

We would definitely recommend this Air BnB, it is in a very private and peaceful area and the BnB itself was very clean and tidy. Upon arrival we were met by the host, who messaged us earlier on in the day to give us clear instructions on how to get to the correct location. The host introduced himself and showed us around the Air BnB, explaining how different amenities within the BnB worked, which made for a much more comfortable stay. The host was very kind, polite and welcoming, and was very happy for us to contact him incase there was anything we may need during our stay; he was also very helpful when recommending the best way to access the city centre from the air BnB. Many thanks to the host.

Amazing host who went above and beyond by decorating the place with happy birthday banners and balloons for my Mums stay for her 60th birthday. The place has so much character and is in such a perfect location

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely cozy cottage in the beautiful village of Addingham. The cottage was nice and clean with welcoming goodies on arrival. Lorraine provided is us with useful information of places to visit around the location and how to access the parking space before we arrived. The hot tub is so relaxing after a nice walk. We’ve stayed in many rental properties in the U.K., Europe and USA and this is one of the best. Felt instantly at home. Beautifully decorated and fantastically well equipped we didn’t want for anything. Great for a short break but we could have happily stayed for weeks. Sally and Nick were so helpful and reassuring. We spent half our time planning a return visit this year and next! Well done

Me and my husband visited as a family with our 8 year old daughter and two tiny chihuahuas. Our dogs can be a bit happy which was absolutely my motivation for picking this location, secluded quiet and most importantly the courtyard area with the hot tub was entirely secure. Meaning we could relax in the hot tub without worrying about any unexpected puppy escapes. The place itself was beautiful inside , the only bathroom is in the main bedroom but in a family setting this is absolutely no issue. It was the perfect setting for cooking, playing board games and watching movies. We were able to walk the dogs, spend time as a family and all had a comfortable uninterrupted nights sleep. I can see us returning for sure!

we had a fantastic stay here. the cottage is beautiful, the garden with pod is perfect to enjoy the local scenery. it was the best sleep I've had in months, so quiet! John was always on hand if neded and very friendly & helpful. we felt very welcome. the cottage has everything you need and more!! I especially loved the history of the house and the way if was decorated/accessorised. my daughter absolutely loved it!! she is 10 and was very sad to leave. I'm certain we will return! the pub up the road was amazing...a lovely walk for tea! food was delicious and very good value. I would highly recommend this cottage and can't wait to come back. thank you John for being a wonderful host and letting us share in the history of this magnificent building.

Absolutely perfect little get away in a lovely area. My girlfriend really liked it and wants to go again. Very cosy and private place with a little garden for the dogs. Beautiful surroundings will 100% be booking again. Very responsive host even though we got there late. Thanks again

We had a great stay - the cottage itself was well kept and cosy. Close to Moors walking spots like Rievaulx Abbey and the coast which we visited. A few nice features make this one standout: appreciated the fireplace setup and ready for us to use at nighttime; made use of the tumble dry and line as we were half way through a long holiday; the parking is private and covered; Kay’s place is just next door if I had any questions; the town itself not as well known as nearby Whitby or York but really welcoming and stocked with indie cafes/bakeries.

A gorgeous little place. It’s called The Nest & I can see why. Small but perfectly formed with everything you need. Annette has lavished love on this little gem. Amazing power shower, super comfy bed and peaceful surroundings. There is a Co-op a few paces away and a pub across the road. There was no noise over the weekend either! The Downe Arms & the Eskdale Inn pubs are both worth a visit with typical pub grub in one & a bistro feel in the other. Only half an hour away from Whitby. There is a train station in the village with trains to Whitby & Middlesbrough. Lots of walks on your doorstep with only a mile to the moors. A delightful comfortable space. Would recommend.

It was a lovely,well situated cottage. Extremely easy to get to the surrounding north York moors and the dales. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and had helpful information on the surrounding area. The cottage was very clean and homely. Pub within walking distance just across the bridge in the village. Would recommend walk from the beautiful Sutton bank national park which was only 10 minutes drive from the cottage followed by a lovely drink at the pub in hamby. Would definitely go back and stay there again.

This was a perfect location to explore York and the local area. It’s only a short distance to the park and ride and also ideal as a base to explore Milton and Pickering. There were clear instructions on how to find the property and lovely scones on arrival. It was lovely place to stay with everything we needed. I’m certain we will stay again.

We had a lovely stay at this very cute, quirky cottage in a good location, with all the supplies you’d need. There were lots of things to do nearby. Helen was incredibly attentive and always happy to help and nothing was too much trouble. We were even able to purchase some of her amazing artwork. 🤩 Would definitely recommend to others.

Great place to stay, The dogs loved it! Host instructions very clear, didn't have to contract them for anything. Shame you have to drive everywhere to take your dogs out, not many foot paths near by.

Really nice break, cottage in driving distance to lots of places. Walking guides in property too for ideas. Clean, tidy accommodation with everything you'd need for a break away. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

What a find! Amazing place to stay. Not only is it a 5 star accommodation, it's a perfect place to explore the local area and has the best back garden I've ever experienced i.e. "The Himalayan Gardens & Sculptures". The accommodation itself was warm, cosy and spotlessly clean, plenty of space for two adults and two springer spaniels. We valued the entrance with it's stone floor to rub down our wet pups when arriving back after our adventures. With plenty of logs for the burner it added to the feeling of home from home. Everything supplied in the cottage is top class quality. The outside area included an enclosed patio which many need if they have dogs with them. We were there when the gardens were closed so it was quiet and such a treat to be able to walk around not sharing it with anyone else. We will be back and have already recommended the cottage to our friends and family. Thank you Will and Sophie

Anna always replied to any questions very fast. The cottage had all the amenities required. The cottage was nestled in the town centre, but you would not know it as it was so quiet. Loved it, if I was in the area again I would not hesitate in trying to book this again.

Anna was extremely helpful, accommodating and provided plenty recommendations of the surrounding area We felt right at home with our Dog and would definitely recommend the cottage if you are looking for a peaceful break with beautiful scenery. The cottage had all we needed and we will definitely return.

This place is probably the nicest place our little family have ever stayed, the surroundings were idyllic, Claire was warm and welcoming and provided books, dvds, board games, toys and Lego so both of our boys were over the moon. The cottage was spotless, the gardens were stunning and the outdoor play set was a real hit. We saw a real variety of wildlife throughout our stay which was magical. We had the most wonderful stay at Fairfax Cottage. The cottage itself is beautifully appointed, cozy, immaculately clean, and full of charm. Every little detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the well-equipped kitchen to the luxurious bedding. Waking up to birdsong and rolling green hills was pure magic. But what truly made our stay exceptional was David, the host. From the moment we booked, his communication was warm, prompt, and incredibly helpful. He offered fantastic local recommendations and even left us a thoughtful welcome pack that made us feel right at home. It’s rare to find a host so genuinely kind and attentive -David went above and beyond in every way. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat in the Yorkshire countryside with a five-star experience, this is the place. We’ll definitely be coming back!
