Kristie was awesome to deal with and responded to me quickly. We really enjoyed our stay. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The house is beautiful and well stocked. We definitely felt at home. Everything was clean. The instructions for the grounds were easy to understand. I would definitely go back there again.

Our second time staying at Jan’s beautiful waterfront home was even better than the first! The home itself is a gem, filled with lovely decor and thoughtful touches. Jan makes it a home away from home. We were close to restaurants, and enjoyed a great dinner out before heading back to relax. The TV room upstairs is perfect for kids to hang out, and the well equipped kitchen had everything we needed. We will be back again, I’m sure!

Lon's place was perfect. When we arrived the house was spotless and it had everything we needed for our weeks stay. Kayaking, fishing, and crabbing kept us busy for hours out of each day and the property seemed to have endless spots to relax and unwind. Lon himself was very gracious and polite. He answered every question we had, and was very patient. Extremely kind is how I would describe him. Would definitely recommend staying at "Almost Heaven".

We had our Thanksgiving week-end in Reedville and it was at Elly's. We truly ENJOYED our stay at Elly's. Great place for children, parents, adults to unwind and bond. lots of games and toys for kids. The house is spotless! indoor and outdoor amenities are easy to find. Great outdoor space for activities including water activities. Well designed indoor place for family gathering. Peaceful surroundings. and calm nights. We recommend this place totally! We will definitely return. Thank you Elly!

We wanted to take my elderly mother to a nice location and this place delivered. It is one level which made it easy for her since no stairs. The view is magnificent, just like in the pictures. There is lots to do, we did some fishing and also got some crab and oysters. They also have kayaks that we used. Place is secluded but also next to a small little ferry that we had to try out. The host was very responsive when I had questions and sent someone immediately when one our kids locked a door. Highly recommend

Great property. It's as beautiful as in the photos, and in a peaceful spot at the end of a long dirt road through farms. The house has multiple big and small social spaces inside and outside, so if you're there with a large group and everyone wants to be together there are places to do that, or if a few people want to be off on their own elsewhere in the house for a bit they can do that too. Fantastic game room with an arcade-level pinball machine, quality air hockey table, ping pong, tons of board games, and other stuff. Kitchen is well equipped so you'll be able to cook whatever you bring with you. John is welcoming and responsive.

Lovely stay for Labor Day weekend! We kayaked every day, took a bike ride, and tried out the paddle board! House was clean and location was nice and quiet. Enjoyed morning coffee on deck while watching the red headed woodpeckers, osprey, and array of gulls & terns! The property is 10 miles from a grocery store (& most restaurants) so you will want to plan meals. Bring staples! Host is super responsive and friendly. Would def recommend for those looking to get away & enjoy quiet time on the water. It is so quiet at night. We loved it!

Susan was gracious and prompt in answering all my questions, both before and after I booked the reservation. The house was clean and located in a quiet neighborhood.

Joyce has done a phenomenal job with this lake house. Everything has been thought through. The house actually looks even better than the pictures. You can tell a lot of thought went into the decor. And it is super clean. The kitchen is fully stacked with everything you would need ant home or away. Ample seasoned fire wood and starter sticks makes using their MASSIVE fire pit a breeze. The best part is she gives you access to both of their docks and you will not have to take your boat or kayak out of the water once. We kayak fished Johnson’s and Lacey’s with ease from her house. 100% coming back to stay again.

We needed a place to chill and unwind and this was it! Not much to do this time of year but we didn't care. We loved every minute of our time on the island. Everyone was so friendly and we felt right at home. Beautiful sunsets and delicious catered meals. Thank you!!!

Suuuuch a beautiful place. Beautiful stay. The hosts made everything 10xs better. Everything was super clean. Stayed for Thanksgiving and realized we forgot our turkey blaster and couldn’t find one at the house (the one thing they didn’t have because they had everything!). After mentioning it to the hosts, we had one delivered in less than 30 min. Can’t say enough about them and their attentiveness. Will be back!

Gina’s cottage is a little slice of heaven overlooking a beautiful stream and lake. Very private and wonderful for our two dogs who ran free and had the time of their lives..

A beautiful home with space for several people, close to the water and surrounded by beautiful pine trees. Clean and tidy with a coastal charm, pet friendly is an extra bonus! Owners were very supportive and communicative.

The perfect spot for our Winter getaway. A beautiful setting and a well preserved colonial era cabin, perfect for exploring such an historic part of our Country. Quaint local restaurants, friendly people and a country setting handy to the lower tidewater Virginia. The icing on the cake was the fireplace for cozy evenings reading a good book. This was our second visit to Mallard Cottage for my husband and I. Just like our previous stay, this is the perfect mix of serenity from the water view and a well-stocked kitchen for cooking some wonderful meals. A. J. and Lindsey remain very helpful and responsive, which ensures peace of mind.

We had a wonderful long weekend here! The house is well-equipped and David was even able to secure fishing and crabbing gear so our two kids could try to catch dinner. It is a quiet street of cottages with friendly neighbors in a gorgeous location - the view is so calming. We enjoyed exploring the local area (love the coffee shop and brewery in Montross), kayaking, swimming, and relaxing on the big screened porch. A feature here that you don’t always have at the shore is a great sandy beach! Can’t wait to come back for another getaway.
