Northumberland : séjours à la ferme

The Old Vicarage is a gem of a place if you want to explore the Northumbrian coast. The property is enormous and incredibly generous in terms of the space, the furnishings and the amenities. The kitchen is better stocked than many people's home kitchen's so if you want to rustle up some food you'll find everything you need. There is also an outside area, which you can eat in, come the summer months. Unusually, there are 2 separate sitting rooms, which means that there is one for the kids and one for the 'grown-ups.' It's a really homely and immaculate space.

What a beautiful, well looked after cottage! We had a wonderful time staying there, it has everything you need away from home, it's really cosy and comfortable. The hosts are lovely, very helpful and flexible. We would definitely recommend this place and will come back if we are ever in the area again.

Lovely place to stay, comfortable, spotlessly clean and Jacqueline was a great host. Homemade cakes, scones, eggs, butter and jams left and a perfect home from home. Lovely fluffy towels, great showers and everything we needed . Would definitely stay again.

We went with our kids and dog and it was the perfect week away. The grounds are spectacular and private so the kids and dog can run around safely. The accommodation is ideal, comfortable with everything we needed. The location is perfect if you want to go to places on the east coast. Duns is a lovely village with friendly people. We enjoyed it so much, we’ve already booked to return!

We had a great visit to Hadrian’s Wall. Elizabeth’s communications were clear, we found the property and access easily, there is plenty of parking available. Elizabeth had left some goodies for us in the fridge, delicious scones and wine. The property is lovely, comfortable and cosy, especially when the log fire is lit. The views are amazing, it’s also so peaceful. It’s an excellent spot for exploring the area, we visited Lanercost Priory, different areas along Hadrian’s Wall, and Kielder Water and Forest. Eating out isn’t difficult if you don’t feel like cooking as there are pub restaurants a short drive away. Elizabeth is a lovely host, very helpful, we would love to come back for another visit. I would definitely recommend staying here.

We absolutely loved our stay in Cuckoo Cottage. The information provided by the hosts was great before and during our stay. The cottage is comfortable and cosy and the location is great for walking and wildlife spotting, and for a peaceful escape. The large bed is very comfy and we enjoyed staring at the sky through the velux windows. The log burner made the cottage even cosier and the huge shower was hot and powerful, making the cottage perfect to return to after a big walk over The Cheviot or a dip in the North Sea! We would have no doubts in returning to Cuckoo Cottage for another wonderful holiday :)

Possibly the nicest holiday cottage we’ve ever stayed in! Very comfortable, lovely furnishings and local art, wonderful bedrooms and bathrooms. The location is excellent - wonderfully placed for walks in Upper Coquetdale or days out to Rothbury, Cragside, and Alnwick. We are already wondering how soon we can return…

This is without doubt the best set up and beautiful property that we have booked. Richard and Pam’s really warm welcome made us feel at home almost immediately. Their attention to detail is extraordinary with everything that we would possibly need for our stay. The information provided about local sites and restaurants was really helpful in finding the best places to visit. Each day that we returned to the house, Pam had kindly baked something delicious for us to enjoy. This is a very special place with wonderful hosts. We would highly recommend both Richard and Pam as hosts and this superb property. We will without question hope to be returning again.

We had a lovely stay at Romilly. The cottage was beautifully furnished and looked even better than the pictures! It was in pristine condition and extremely clean and tidy. Julia has thought of everything and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need and more. The cottage was perfect for a peaceful getaway, surrounded by beautiful views and scenery with some lovely walks right on our doorstep. The location is in a great spot to explore Northumberland, with Bamburgh, Alnwick and more just a short drive away. We had a lovely time there and will definitely be returning!

Brilliant stay at this lovely, modern air bnb. Walking distance to Beamish museum. Peaceful surroundings. Very clean and spacious. We were kindly greeted with some scones and a hamper on arrival. Great stay overall.

A great spot in the heart of Northumberland! We had an excellent stay at Adam’s place, it was clean and cosy. Communication was quick and the self check in made easy. The surrounding area has a lot to offer from great walks to lovely pubs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

This place was the best place we have stayed! Incredibly peaceful property surrounded by nature! Simon was an amazing host who went out of his way to communicate and advise us about the property and area. The beds were extremely comfy and clean! The whole place had everything you could possibly need. I would advise a trip to the shop before arrival as it is very remote, but thats what makes this place one of its kind. If you’re after a place for rest and recovery i dont think there is a better place than this one.

Goose Barn is a fabulous place to stay. It's beautifully appointed, warm and cosy throughout. The location is ideal for walking Hadrian's Wall, which you can see from the pratio seating area outside the living room. Lucy is a great host and we appreciated the welcome pack on arrival. Thoroughly recommended!

Wonderful host and property. Children loved watching the sheep in the nearby fields, seeing the local horses and playing in the enclosed garden. Property was clean and homely. Had everything you need and more. Host provided lots of helpful information about the local area, and was responsive to any needs. Would highly recommend.

Anna's barn conversion was the perfect escape to Northumberland we were after with plenty of room and great facilities. It proved a great central hub for us to have family days out in the countryside, with the home comforts to enjoy once back. Can't wait to visit again!

We had a lovely few days away here, we especially enjoyed the large open plan kitchen/diner/lounge space. We relaxed in the evenings and made the most of the lovely accomodation and spent our days exploring places we had not been to before. We did Holy Island and other stops along the coastal road and had a day in Newcastle. We drove to the metro centre and got the train in which was very easy to do. Helpful and friendly host, thank you for the treats and eggs on arrival. We would recommend a stay here to anyone interested 😊

We had a great stay at Nanny End. Charlie was very helpful and it is such a beautiful cottage. A great place to relax and unwind. Beadnell is a beautiful spot with nearby Seahouses and Bamburgh making for a wonderful stay

Literally the best place to stay. So close to the city, but far enough a way that it is quiet! Great recommendations and awesome breakfast 😊

Great location with easy access to all the great places like Bamburgh, Alnwick, Beadnell bay, Embleton and much more! Also easy to navigate and find with parking outside the property to make unloading/repacking the car easy. A nice touch to have dog treats and a welcome basket along with handy guide for appliances etc.

The cottage was exactly what we were hoping for, away from it all so peaceful, lovely views, no light pollution, but easy to get to. The cottage was cosy (even during icy cold windy days), comfortable and well equipped. Large Utility Room great for sorting the dogs out after a wet walk. All in all, had a lovely week, great start to the New Year.

fantastic find with everything we needed for our short stay. Very well equipped with lots of local information in the information pack. awesome wood burner which was nearly too toasty!! highly recommended.
