This was an absolute haven of peace and tranquillity The hut was filled with lots of lovely touches Rachael is sweet, helpful and thoughtful My Daughter, Grandchildren and myself loved every minute. the children did not want to leave, some tears shed. They said it was their favourite holiday, where else could they feed the horses in the morning with their pyjama's and wellies on.

We had a fantastic stay at the cabin whilst on a weekend getaway. Stella kindly left clear instructions of how to get to the cabin, left a heater on for us so we were cosy from the get go on the arrival which was fantastic after a cold windy February day exploring the local sites! The cabin was extremely comfortable and cosy, we loved the privacy and were able to ‘switch off’ from our busy daily lives - a perfect break which allowed us to relax and enjoy ourselves. The cabin was also in great proximity to a variety of locations - we managed to explore Carlisle, Hadrian’s Wall and the Gretna Green outlet whilst staying at Stella’s cabin. Thank you Stella and would highly recommend our stay to others!

The Shepards hut was set in a beautiful, idyllic area of Northumbria. The hut itself was spotless and well decorated and it had a real cozy feel to it. The radiators did a great job of warming the place up when necessary and the owners were responsive, informative and friendly. Our only complaint was there were very strong winds on the second night of our stay and the whistles coming through the cracks in the structure were very noisy! But, can’t really be helped and it wouldn’t stop us from retuning again.

Remote and peaceful location but within a drive of many beautiful scenic places. We loved feeding the horses and sitting on the wooden decking eating and drinking. The big double bed is super comfy and the little hut has all the basic necessities. A lovely play to relax and great for doggies. Host was there to greet us and messaged in advance to make sure everything was set up!

The Shepherds hut was lovely and clea and very well equipped. Location was lovely, off grid, limited phone access. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, horses in the paddock next door. Great fire pit too. A car would have been nice but we arrived by train and took a taxi to the site. Lovely walk to local pub, about 6 miles away. Would definitely stay again it was so peaceful. Amazing place to stay the location is so remote and peaceful with beautiful scenery around the accommodation and in the local area. Great walks and local amenities not too far out when we needed something, all information given on places to visit was spot on and would highly recommend the Northumberland arms food was great and dog friendly too The accommodation itself is perfect so clean and such a cosy space to stay in with everything we needed for our stay Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break away

John has managed to create something simple yet exceptional with The Wrack & Croy. It's a little slice of heaven that allows you to connect with nature and yourself. You've likely never seen the night sky so brilliantly bright, with stars scattered like white confetti across a black canvas. Nor have you experienced silence so deep and surreal, broken only by the occasional bird's chirp or a sheep's bleat. The grounds are completely private and undisturbed, and it’s easy to feel like you’re the last person on earth. The location is also accessible via public transport, and John's directions to the farm were impeccable. He was kind enough to drop me off at the train station when I left and is truly an absolute sweetheart of a guy. I loved chatting with him and learning more about what inspired him to create and share this delightful place. I cannot recommend The Wrack & Croy highly enough and will undoubtedly be planning another visit soon.

This place has everything you need for a relaxing and peaceful stay. We would highly recommend it. The hut itself is cosy and the sun room was a lovely bonus- an additional comfy space. We were lucky enough to get sunshine in March and sat outside for a while before lighting the log burner inside when it got too cold. Amazing clear skies and a beautiful sunrise topped off a nice chilled stay.

Spent 2 amazing nights at the goods wagon. It's an absolute gem of a place. A little secret garden hidden-away with gorgeous views overlooking the fields. Didn't really get a chance to enjoy the outdoor deck or the garden as it was quite windy, but got real cosy and toasty by the woodstove instead. The wagon itself is beautifully restored and so comfortable. I absolutely adore it and was quite heartbroken to have to leave it. Thank for hosting me Billy!

We had an excellent weekend stay in The Köre and our first off grid experience. The location is outstanding and, although only 5 minutes off the A1, feels like you are surrounded by nothing but nature. The shepherd's hut is well equipped with kitchen, shower, and plenty of space to relax. The log burner serves as the only heat source and whilst might not suit some, it was part of the experience for us. The hut was fairly clean but there were a few areas that could have had a bit more of a clean down but, again, as expected for this type of stay where you're not expecting luxury The setting is outstanding. Great instructions to get you there. You are in the middle of a private wooded area and in the space is a lovely pond, yoga deck, outdoor shower, and covered seating area. There are a few trail paths that you can walk around the area with clear signs to highlight where not to go. The location is ideal for exploring the east coast and Northumberland. You're 5 minutes away from the A1.

Myself and my girlfriend had a really great stay. Deborah was away so we met Peter, who was very friendly and helpful. He introduced us to all of the animals - who were also very friendly! The Shepherds Hut itself was very clean and cosy. The location is ideal for exploring Northumberland. Hoping to go again soon.

Lovely and cosy place to stay! Hot tub was heated and ready for us arriving, and was tucked away beside the hut behind some trees, so very private. We needed firewood for our fire which was available to purchase, the firewood hadn’t been re-stocked on this occasion and within 5mins the owner was out with barrow full of logs for us. Very prompt and kind. Some previous reviews mention the noise from the road being too loud, me being someone who needs silence to sleep and who wears earplugs, I didn’t find the noise too loud and slept peacefully. Would definitely stay again ☺️ Thanks again!

This cabin is a beautiful, peaceful retreat, perfect for a solo escape or a quiet getaway. Despite being less than an hour from home, it truly feels like a change of scenery. The space is thoughtfully designed, cozy, and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. There was a minor hiccup accessing the cabin, but Beckie responded promptly and resolved it quickly. The sauna is a real highlight - I’d recommend setting it up at least an hour before use and keeping an eye on the heat as it builds. While the noise from the working farm was noticeable at times, it didn’t negatively impact the experience. One of the best moments was waking up to a special little visitor - a deer - right outside the window. Sitting with a cup of tea and watching it from the warmth of the cabin was a truly memorable experience. Highly recommend this stay for anyone looking to slow down, enjoy some solitude, and reconnect with nature.

Everything was just as described. The shepherds hut had everything we needed for a bank holiday weekend and a lot of care had been put into making our stay special. The hut is in really lovely tranquil spot in an area not many tourists get to - the peace and quiet was just what we needed. Sitting in the afternoon sun was just blissful. We also visited Eyemouth, Coldingham Sands, Berwick Upon Tweed, Haddington and North Berwick - so plenty of interesting places nearby to see all not too far away - as well as some really nice local walks.

A really beautiful gem of a place ! Super cozy felt right at home we wished we could have stayed longer and really will be coming back! Beautiful surroundings and dog friendly our dachshund didn’t want to leave she went and hid under the lodge ! Thank you for our little find of cake and bubbly too! Super clean and a lovely shower too.

We had a lovely stay at the Shepherd’s hut. It was in a good location with lots of local places to explore that are dog friendly. The hut had everything that we needed and was very homely. Ed was a very attentive host, who responded so quickly when we asked a silly question…it had been a long drive to get there! We would definetly recommend staying here.

Was very lucky to find this wonderful shepherds hut last minute for our wedding anniversary. The views of the rolling hills with sheep and horses are spectacular to wake up to. Escaping the cold after a long walk with a log fire was a real treat. The mattress, pillows and duvet was like luxury! The sycamore Gap and Hadrian's wall are close by aswell as the local town so we visited the cafe Bonnie's there. Everyone here is so friendly and helpful. Can't recommend enough to anyone who wants to get away from the grind and switch off! Hope to come back again.

We had an excellent experience at this charming Shepard’s hut. It was lovely to see the animals in such a peaceful setting, with very low to no noise despite being a working farm. The hot tub was a fantastic addition, perfect for unwinding. The gated garden was ideal for bringing our puppy along, giving us peace of mind. The Shepherd’s Hut had everything we needed, with thoughtful touches throughout, and the log burner kept us warm even when temperatures outside dropped to 1°C. We enjoyed walking around the beautiful local area, breathing in the fresh air away from built up areas. Claire and Lewis were incredibly friendly and always available to help, making our stay even more enjoyable. We were also moved by the wonderful work they do for poorly and retired horses, which shows their outstanding genuine care for animals. We loved our time at this peaceful retreat and will definitely be returning in the future. Highly recommend! Thank you for having us x
