Our stay at Sunrise lodge was peaceful and relaxing. This was the perfect after holiday down time for our family. The main area of the house is just the right size to be together without feeling as though we were on top of each other. There are also plenty of spaces to separate and have quiet time, like on the porch, at the dock, or in the downstairs living area. The beds are comfortable and there are plenty of extra pillows and blankets for everyone. There are lots of things to explore near by, and everyone we met was friendly and helpful! We look forward to coming back again next year.

My family and I stayed at Gilbert’s cabin for the Christmas Holidays and really enjoyed it. The cabin sits on a large piece of land, so even though there are neighbors it feels very private. It was very quiet and the fire pit outside was the perfect place to stargaze. The cabin is only 10-15 minutes to downtown Blue Ridge and there are also plenty of hikes nearby as well. We would love to come back in the summertime and enjoy the lake!

We had a beautiful weekend in a beautiful home on the river. The host spared no expensive to provide everything needed for a perfect weekend. You literally need only the clothes you will wear. Everything you would ever need is provided! I absolutely love the coffee bar!

We had a great time! The home was as expected and very nice. We really enjoyed everything about it. The location, porch, hot tub and fire pit was all a plus.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Ruth's Airbnb, and I couldn't be more impressed! From the moment I arrived, Ruth was an incredibly welcoming host, greeting me with warmth and making sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The space itself was immaculate, festive decorations, cozy, and thoughtfully equipped with all the amenities I could ask for, from a well-stocked kitchen to plush bedding. The location was perfect, offering a peaceful retreat yet close enough to local attractions. Ruth went above and beyond to make sure I had a seamless experience, providing helpful local recommendations and even a personalized welcome booklet. From the moment we put in our reservation Bobby and Dina made us feel so very welcomed. We truly enjoyed our stay at their beautiful home on the river. The peace and tranquility of the home made it a much needed getaway. I would highly recommend this home to anyone staying in the area. Bobby and Dina were super responsive to any requests we had and made some super recommendations of things in the surrounding are. We rode up on motorcycles and the drive in and driveway were very accessible for us to navigate and park. we will definitely be making this our usual place to stay when we're in the area.

Shannon was incredibly helpful, communicative, and flexible. Her place was epic, as advertised. 10/10 recommend!

I want to give a 10-star rating, but the system only gives me five 🌟. Robin's family is very friendly and knowledgeable. We can talk about all new things together. Their dog is also very friendly and I can't let it go. There are also two cute donkeys on their farm. Every morning when I wake up, I want to say hello to them. In short, I will come here again. It is a quiet, beautiful and charming environment. I wish you all the best!

We spend a few days after Christmas and the place was clean and quiet to relax , we definitely stay here again .

My brother and I treated our mom to a weekend getaway to celebrate her 80th birthday. The “Flying Squirrel” was perfect! Great floor plan, beautiful interior design, comfortable beds, and plenty of thoughtful extras! If you’re looking for a true “get-away-from-it-all”….this is it!

The most perfect place for a relaxed and quiet getaway! My husband and I drove up here from Florida for our honeymoon. It was absolutely beautiful and so comfortable that we felt right at home. We hardly left the cabin, there was plenty to do right there. Canoeing on the lake with our dog was the highlight of the trip. 10/10 would stay again.

What a gem of a place - we had the most wonderful week! The home was just as described with all the amenities we needed for 6 of us. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The kids enjoyed fishing off the dock and kayaking every day. We enjoyed the spacious kitchen and living room and actually decided to stay in and cook meals vs. going out to eat because we didn’t want to leave the property. Easy 10 min drive to restaurants and local grocery stores if needed. Laura was an incredible host! She communicated with us appropriately before, during and post trip to make sure we were enjoying our stay and answering any questions. Prior to arrival, we received a beautiful PDF of check in instructions, local recommendations and contact info. I’ve not seen this special touch by any previous Airbnb host - there is no doubt Laura takes pride in ensuring her guests feel like this is “home away from home.” Highly recommend!

My family and I had a great stay at the lazy bear cabin during the Thanksgiving holiday. The main goal was cooking a great meal together. The kitchen has every gadget, tray & cooking utensil you could possibly need. Dinner turned out to be a huge success. We played various games together and thoroughly enjoyed the cabin. This cabin does sit on a steep mountain. For future guests, the only thing I think you should know is the lake access is a small hike down the hill to get down to the lake. Getting back up to the house from the lake is not for everyone. It was quite the strenuous mini hike up hill for all of us. Maybe it was harder because of the cold weather but it knocked the wind out of all of us. Gazing at the stars at night off the dock made up for it. Being from Miami where we don’t see stars, It’s one of the most amazing views I’ve ever seen. The emotion of it knocked me to my knees as my eyes watered. I also did little hiking as the area is absolutely beautiful.

Highly recommend the Peaceful River Retreat. Visited with 3 generations (6 yo to 76 yo). All people were able to navigate the stairs and home without any difficulty. Our 2WD SUV did not have difficulty with the gravel road or 4" stream-crossing. Parking was easy. The firepit and deck were voted a fan fave by us all, with the sound of the river right there! The adults all commented that the beds were super comfy. Towels were fluffy. Kitchen was well-stocked with plenty of cookware, plates, mugs, and utensils for the 7 of us. It was a peaceful, dreamy vacation. (Note that the peacefulness is paired with a drive of 30ish minutes to most locations, including the grocery, so we planned store stops for food, after our outings - there's a gas station closer, but we did not use it for me to comment on food selection). We saw 20+ deer and a woodchuck not far from house. Simply amazing that we had the opportunity to stay in the mountain retreat. We are grateful!

Beautiful stay! The road up to the cabin is a little steep and most activities are a bit of a drive away - but it’s a very cozy place with gorgeous views and lots of amenities to keep you occupied. Couldn’t have asked for a better value

We had the most incredible stay at this Airbnb! The river and views were absolutely breathtaking, and the owner left no detail untouched. The beds, blankets, and pillows were so comfortable—I truly felt right at home. The house was stocked with everything we could possibly need, and then some. Our 2-year-old absolutely loved the swingset, and to top it off, the host went above and beyond by providing a toddler swing for our baby, which made the experience even more special. The whole stay was wonderful, and the host was incredibly responsive and helpful, making everything run smoothly. We can't wait to come back! Highly recommend this place—it’s the perfect getaway.

Having traveled from Europe, we've experienced our fair share of destinations and hosts—some wonderful, and others not so much. But I can honestly say this has been the best hosting experience we've ever had. My three-year-old even called it his “Christmas home,” and we truly felt like we were at home here. The cabin was beautiful, spotless, and had everything we could possibly need. Ms. Jill, our host, was incredibly kind and accommodating, always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Thank you so much for making our New Year’s celebration one we’ll never forget!

Reel Sweet was the perfect spot for our spring break getaway! The location is absolutely idyllic—tucked right along the beautiful, crystal-clear river perfect for fishing. It felt incredibly private, yet was still easy to access and is only a short drive to downtown Blue Ridge. The home was thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. From the fire pit to the water toys, this home offered so much for the value. The large backyard was the perfect place to make memories playing games and having fun as a family. Ryan, the host, was super responsive and helpful—even shared some great fishing tips! We can’t wait to come back and rent Reel Sweet again!
