Highlight of our first Japan trip! 💎 Junko and Philip are warm, grounded and incredibly helpful hosts. Junko picked us up at the station and even brought us to the supermarket, where Junko kindly helped us choose what to buy — such a thoughtful gesture! The home was bigger than expected, clean and full of soul — from the CD collection, board games and a great sound system Every room had AC/heating, and we had everything we needed. The area is peaceful, the perfect contrast to Tokyo and Kyoto, which can easily get overwhelming— we were so happy to come here after exploring. They provide bikes and a folder with great tips. The bike seats were a bit hard, so we padded them with towels — fun memory! 😂 They live next door with their two kids and a lovely garden. The place has real serenity and a true Japanese feel. We’d love to return! 🙏🏼

The home was clean a good size for our party of 6. The washing machine/dryer was convenient. It was a great location, close to bus and trains. The river around the corner is a nice place to go for a run. Only thing is that there were not a lot of places to eat close by that could accommodate our group of 6. We would stay again!

Ich habe mich in der Unterkunft von Eri total wohl gefühlt. Sie liegt direkt am Fushimi Inari Schrein, wodurch man innerhalb einer Minute dort ist. Auch die Haltestelle Inari Station liegt nur wenige Meter entfernt. Die Unterkunft war sauber, gemütlich und hat auch eine Waschmaschine, was mir sehr geholfen hat. Die Kommunikation mit Eri war sehr einfach und stets unkompliziert. Ich kann die Unterkunft sehr empfehlen und werde die Zeit in toller Erinnerung behalten.

Das Aya Guest House entsprach voll der Beschreibung und unseren Vorstellungen und können es nur weiter empfehlen! Die Lage ist toll - innerhalb weniger Minuten erreicht man mit dem Zug die schönsten Sehenswürdigkeiten und ist im Herzen von Kyoto. Die Umgebung ist sehr ruhig und charmant, die Unterkunft sehr sauber und gepflegt und die Gastgeber sehr zuvorkommend und nett. Wir haben uns hier sofort wohl gefühlt!

Beautiful home and well appointed with everything we needed for our stay in Kyoto. Great walkable location to train, Gion area and restaurants. The best AirBnB we have experienced!

Akarisou’s place was spacious enough to accommodate my family of six, including my parents and two kids. The kitchen is well stocked to cook. I liked the dishwasher a lot. The first floor room was traditionally made with Japanese house style, which my parents enjoyed. The rooms in the second floor were pretty spacious, and the mattresses were comfortable! The bathroom is also spacious with a large tub and clean shower facilities. The location was safe and close to an awesome grocery store and pharmacy (drug store). The owner is very communicative! I’d recommend this place for a family with kids!

非常完美的房子，房东人也非常非常好，庭院特别漂亮可惜去的时候院子里的樱花树还没开，还提供了自行车给我们骑行。房子隔壁的咖啡店特别温馨，提供了早餐特别方便👍

The bathroom downstairs was amazing. It was super clean—linens, fluffy towels, Dyson hair dryer. The only difficulty I had was figuring out the washing machine since it was all in Japanese. I tried using Google translate and I couldn’t toggle the washing setting to my liking. But, that’s really an issue with not being able to speak or read the language. It was conveniently located which easy access to Ubers and taxis. We went everywhere from the Golden Temple to the Bamboo forest and even made a day trip out to Osaka. It sucks to transport luggage to the Airbnb because they can’t just leave it up front. I tried getting them to let me pick it up from the train station but that wasn’t possible. However, the transport person stayed until we got there which was so nice. The host was amazing as well. One of the kids left her stamp book from the temple behind and she contacted us about it. She was so nice to send it to our next destination and messaged us with the confirmation.

I absolutely loved my stay. The place was extremely clean, the location is in a beautiful lowkey neighborhood that’s walkable to some of the bigger attractions and shopping. Definitely recommend staying here during your visit. A couple recommendations for stores close by - Homies, T.T, and otsu_kei
