This home is so charming, dripping in history, tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you need. It feels so off the beaten path but Charlottesville is within easy reach. You feel a real sense of peacefulness and calm here, and Virginia is a very responsive host.

This is the third time we have stayed here and it never disappoints. Clean, well furnished, great location convenient to Orange, Gordonsville, Charlottesville and lots of local wineries to explore. Will keep coming back as it is great for our girl's weekend trips. On this trip we tried our artistic side at making glass frames and bowls at the Glass Palette in Charlottesville as well as checking out the excellent Barn 78 winery in Barboursville. Highly recommend both as well as Patti's place for a quiet, peaceful and fun weekend away!

We had a lovely second stay at Wildwood! Accommodated two families with several kiddos easily and comfortably. Space is private with beautiful views of mountains and near a number of wineries and interesting things to do (one day we visited Monticello and another day we drove into Charlottesville, for example). Super cozy inside with tons of places outside for kids to run around. Great experience all around.

We wanted a last minute hike and a place to stay nearby. There wasn't a lot left that wasnt booked up and there were many places that charged $60-$100 cleaning fees making the total close to $100 more than the actual nightly price listed. That was not the case here. This place was absolutely beautiful. It was easy to find and we felt right at home inside. Communication was excellent and while we mostly hung out inside after our long hike, there is plenty to do on this farm! I would recommend this place to anyone. We will definitely be staying again.

This is a lovely farm with several cottages and homes available for stays. The grounds are spectacular with pastures filled with horses, gorgeous ponds, and amazing landscapes. The servants cottage met our needs perfectly. We stayed for only one night while traveling home to NY after snowbirds a couple months further south. I have family nearby and hope to stop here again in the future for a longer time. The cottage was well kept with a BBQ grill that my husband happily made our dinner on! There was also a portable fire pit that we enjoyed while having our after dinner cocktails. Super responsive and helpful! We highly recommend staying at this farm and can't wait to go back.

We were transported into another world when we stayed at this Air BnB. We truly felt like we were on vacation from our daily lives; we unplugged and reconnected as a family. The cows were so lovely; they give such a sense of peace and are an important reminder about how our food is farmed.

John's place was where we based family for our wedding at a local Vineyard. The place is located well in Somerset with access to many local vineyards. We went into Charlottesville for dinner one night, and if you have a car the distance isn't a problem. The place is super clean and the kitchen is great for making a meals with friends and family. Will be back for weekend getaway some time.

Absolutely stunning place! Its most definitely beautiful and worth the price. It’s also where I got married and I wouldn’t change a thing. I couldn’t have asked for a better host. Jim made sure I had everything I needed and checked in a few times to make sure everything was good. I would highly recommend for a micro-wedding or even a small event!! I was also left with flowers & a special card from the elmwood farm. Such a wonderful place.

This cottage was everything we hoped for from the cottage itself, the grounds and the beautiful horses. Best part was being able to pet and feed the horses. Thank you Louis for a memorable stay.

Spacious, peaceful, and welcoming. A lovely retreat in the country on the outskirts of town. Host was so sweet and welcoming. The accomodations were as described. The 2nd floor of the home was exclusively ours and the host family was quiet. Enjoyed driving the rural roads and seeing deer, vineyards, and changing colors of the trees in the fall.

Big views, comfy bed, cool history and excellent jump off point to explore the surrounding area. It was nice to meet John to at check in too felt like early days of Airbnb. A special find you should consider booking if you are in the area.

We absolutely loved staying at this Airbnb. It is a working farm which was meant we got to visit with the goats, pigs, ducks, chickens & cows each day. We also got to walk down to their pier at Lake Anna and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We loved waking up to the farm each morning and looking around from the balcony. The nights were so clear we could see the stars perfectly. Ben gave us a tour of the property when we arrived, gave us some homemade salsa from their garden (very delicious!) and made us feel very welcome (even sent us alternate directions to the property when the road nearby was shut down due to an accident). We were able to host Thanksgiving with our local family very comfortably. Thank you, Ben & Nicole for being such great hosts! We definitely recommend this property!

Our stay at Bloomingdale was wonderful! You could feel the history of the house. It was well appointed with a beautiful kitchen looking over the fields and an open living and dining room. There was also a large den and another parlor on the main level for get away spaces. Upstairs beds were comfortable and bathrooms were plentiful. We had a great stay and didn’t want to leave! Highly recommend.

We actually live in the community and we rented this for relatives who flew in for my husband’s surprise 60th birthday gathering. It was perfect!

After years of over scheduled vacations, we decided to select a laid back, play it by ear vacation. This may be the first vacation that’s we’ve had that we don’t feel like we need another week to recoup! We opted to stay home every other day and go somewhere every other day. The house was beautiful and the only thing we didn’t have was local TV which turned out to be the best thing for relaxing. Thank you David and Norma for opening your beautiful home to us!

The farmhouse was a secluded retreat filled with beautiful sunsets and sunrises overlooking the farm. Home was clean and had a ton of space. Would visit again

My family and I had a great stay at Monique and Stan’s place. They were so friendly and helpful and the house had everything we needed. The beds were super comfortable and plenty of space to spread out. The location was beautiful and my kids loved meeting their horses. We would love to go back when the pool is open. Thanks again!

This was a wonderful stay - the house is gorgeous, the beds are comfortable, there is a lot of room for two families, and a well stocked kitchen - and it is all set on beautiful land. We all loved greeting the horses each day, and walking the grounds, discovering the streams, and enjoying the wildlife. Thanks for a lovely stay!

I had the most amazing stay here. The surrounding area is beautiful and listening to the cows mooing was such a bonus. It’s an active farm and the staff was super friendly. I came here for the hiking and got to do a ton of that, and visited some really cool breweries and vineyards. Will definitely be back!

Carlene & Allan were wonderful hosts. We met them upon arrival and were friendly and cordial. Their place was 100% as advertised, immaculately clean and cozy. It had all the comforts of home including a large basket of breakfast goodies and snacks which was very nice. The location was quiet and peaceful at all times as well. If you are looking for a homebase for sightseeing in Orange County it would be hard to beat. Would stay again without question.
