We feel eternally grateful to have been able to spend a month in such a beautiful, peaceful spot. The casita is as pictured with everything you need for an extended stay. Our main goal in traveling to Ecuador this time was to find somewhere peaceful and the river, birds, and trees surrounding casita colibrí provided everything we could hope for. Kim Ho was a wonderful host: easy to communicate with and incredibly friendly, helpful, and positive. We loved the walk to town and found getting taxis back part way if needed very easy. We also were amazed at the hikes we could do right out the gate- there is so much to see in every direction! I will note that we had some troubles with both mold and mildew. This is not surprising given that we were traveling during the rainy season and likely not a fault of the casita, but it was a constant effort to keep our clothes/items mold-free. Kim Ho recommended using vinegar to clean and that was very helpful but I would consider this while packing.

I felt so very blessed to have spent one month in paradise here! Phil and Suzannah are the quintessential hosts, the most lovely, kind, helpful folks you’ll ever meet! The care they have infused into their property and living forest is palpable in the beauty found in every corner. The apartment itself is exceptionally comfortable, pristine, and beautifully designed, with so many artistic touches. For those that are interested in regenerative farming, you will be captivated! Even if you don’t have a particular interest in this topic, the abundance of fruit & vegetables available to harvest is such a wonderful treat! I was bothered by the mosquitoes, however. Despite Phil’s multiple attempts to help, they sometimes even bit me in the apartment. Additionally, those that are sensitive to noise should know that you can hear quite a bit from the floor above. When this was brought to the host’s attention, however, the noise level decreased. Overall, my stay was magical!! ✨✨🙏

Un extraordinario lugar, con mucha paz y tranquilidad, espacio amplio y cómodo, tiene todas las comodidades para pasar un tiempo de calidad con familiares y amigos. Súper recomendado!!!

Asha and David are super sweet. They waited for us at the bus station even though we were one hour late! They wanted to show us the places in Vilcabamba and they took us fruit shopping. They really care and make sure you are feeling great at their place! We recommend their accomodation.

Excelente lugar para relajarse del ruido de la ciudad, sus mascotas son muy amigables, nos sentimos como en casa, a pesar de que Travis se encontraba de vacaciones siempre estuvo en contacto, y la estancia la hizo más agradable Stefani quién si se encontraba en la casa, lamentablemente los incendios forestales no permitieron disfrutar de los hermosos paisajes de Vilcabamba.

Maria’s place was perfect for our family of 5. It was very comfortable and was only a few minutes walk to everything Vilcabamba has to offer.

Awesome host. Very fast responses and super accommodating. Made the reservation and within 15 mins was checked in and in our room. 10/10

A great place near the podocarpus national park. Ideal if you like to hike and be in direct contact with nature. Near the cabin there are rivers and waterfalls to visit. Comfortable and cozy cabin The hosts Sarah and Charlie are such a a great persons very kind and attentive

My husband and I stayed for 3 night. Hot shower, comfortable bed, good WiFi, a well-stocked kitchen, roomy spaces, good lighting, great layout with light-filled rooms and a fantastic view from the kitchen and living room. It is a 10 to 15 minute walk to downtown Vilcabamba. Taxis all know the Alpha House. We would definitely stay there again on our next visit to Vilcabamba.
