Jean's place is pristine, quiet and the perfect place to retreat for some quality time away from bustling cities. My son and I had had some of the most intimate conversations we've ever had sitting on the private dock on the lake. Jean has a fascinating history and captivating stories that anyone would enjoy. My son did. I did. I plan to visit her place again for more time to write and reflect. I strongly recommend her place. My son, 19 -thought it was the most beautiful place he had stayed at. The sunrise and sunsets are breathtaking - particularly with the imposing mountains in the background. Thanks Jean.

The hosts did an amazing job of being responsive and helpful. They not only let us in early, but helped organize ordering food and dealing with transportation. Overall a great place to stay outside of pana for a quiet relaxing time.

Augustus is an awesome host! I got sick on the trip and he brought up ginger tea and immunity elixir for me to take. He was very helpful with any questions we had. Super easy going and friendly. The views are amazing. We loved sitting out on the rocking chairs, day and night, just taking in the magical lake. I hope to come back soon!

We spent 18 wonderful days at Casa Mazat in February 2025 and will happily come back here when we return to San Marcos. The pictures absolutely do not do justice to the amazing 180+ degree views, including all 3 volcanoes, the towns of Santiago Atitlan, San Pedro and San Juan, and the Rostro Maya. In the mornings, while sitting on the sofa enjoying our cacao, we were serenaded by a host of beautiful songbirds flying in and around the lush tree at the immediate right front of the home. The full kitchen made it easy to prepare meals at home. Very convenient to the center of town (an easy 10-15-minute walk), while feeling removed from the hubbub. The bed was super comfortable. The only (very minor) inconveniences are the steep 2-story stairsteps leading up to (and down from) the street and the hot water sometimes not lasting very long in the shower. Mary and Cristian are great hosts -- super responsive whenever we needed something, had questions or asked for suggestions.

This place exceeded our expectations, it was even more beautiful than the photos! The living space is spacious and breathtaking, with a stunning yard that offers an unobstructed view of the volcano. The kitchen was fantastic, and we loved spending our evenings cooking dinner and grilling on the barbecue. Every night, we used the temazcal (like a sauna), which made our stay even more special. Lesley and the groundskeeper were incredibly responsive, kind, and made us feel right at home. Lesley also shared local recommendations and kept us informed about daily events in San Marcos. An unforgettable stay, we wish we could have stayed longer!

Great experience. Walkable to San Marcos (though there is hills and altitude). Rooms and facilities were as advertised. A6 is below parking. Was loud early one night as someone was checking out and packing car so they were in and out. Not really something something that Alas can do. Otherwise, very peaceful. Team was responsive at all hours and they had someone wait with me when I booked at 4AM and 6AM tour and transfer pickup. Team also arranged for Tuk Tuk and morning hike tour.

We had a great time enjoying the sweeping volcano views from the balcony of Casa Wenche at Villa Eggedal. The property covers over 10 acres and is a 10 minute walk from the public dock and 15 minutes uphill to the town center of Santa Cruz. Since it was a bit of a hike to the restaurants, we ended up cooking a lot. There were so many seating areas around the property, which is meticulously gardened, and our boys also enjoyed the pool. Diego the caretaker and the cleaning ladies were also really helpful. Also the hot water and water pressure were great!

Maura’s home is truly special! The house is clean, comfortable, airy, and well appointed. The views from the sitting room may be some of the best in Lake Atitlan – seriously! We love d San Marcos: restaurants, and small town feel. We would definitely return and rent Maura’s place again. Highly recommended.

La casa de Jorge es una casa MARAVILLOSA. Tiene todas las comodidades que alguien necesita para poder pasar un fin de semana inolvidable. Era un viaje con amigas, todas mujeres, y todas nos sentimos absolutamente seguras y cuidadas. Tiene una vista hermosa que da directo al lago de Atitlan y que de frente se ve el Volcán San Pedro y el Volcán Atitlan en HD, con un muelle privado donde una puede pasar el día sin que nadie te moleste. El lago está tan limpio que se puede nadar. Durante la noche se descansa perfectamente por la tranquilidad y paz que transmite la casa. Además, la cocina esta muy bien equipada y se puede cocinar con varias personas a la vez. Ni siquiera se siente necesario salir de lo hermosa que es!!! Todo esto sin tomar en cuenta que Jorge es un tipazo, atento, lleno de tips,y siempre atento a responder. Seguramente volveremos en junio.
