Aus einer Empfehlung bin ich bei Meyske gelandet. Das Homestay ist absolut süß eingerichtet und das Essen top. Ich durfte Meyske als Guide erleben und ganz ehrlich? Sie ist das Geld echt wert. Sie erzählt mit so viel Liebe und Leidenschaft die Tradition von ihrer Kultur. Jede Frage von mir wurde beantwortet, hierfür wurde auch voller Einsatz die einheimischen Schweinsverkäufer nach Preisen gefragt, wenn ich das wissen wollte. Alle Wünsche von uns wurden berücksichtigt und auf einer Beerdigung hat sie uns nicht aus den Augen gelassen. Das hat mir ein sicheres Gefühl gegeben, da ich nicht wusste wie ich mich verhalten soll. Wann ist man schon mal auf einer fremden Beerdigung? Vorab haben wir angemessene Kleidung bekommen, worin ich mich auch wohl gefühlt hab - andere Touristen hatten dies nicht. Meyske denkt mit und macht es einem so leicht wie möglich, sich wohl in einer fremden Kultur zu fühlen. Einen solchen authentischen Aufenthalt hätte ich mir nicht ausmalen können. Danke Meyske🙏?

Meyskes place is wonderful. The space is so nice to relax and chat with other guests. The food they offer is very tasty with a big variety. The best about the place are the hosts, not only Meyske also her mother are such good persons who help you out with everything you need. Even tho Meyske was not around when I stayed there she called me to give me a very good overview about what to explore in that area. Highly recommend to visit!

Hill House Garuda is situated in a beautiful part of Toraja where the mountain air is cool and the breeze in the evening means you sleep well. We slept on the new queen sized bed which was very comfortable. Agus and her two lovely young children looked after our needs - supplying breakfast and dinner on request - always with a smile. Ayub, who speaks excellent English picked us up at the airport and was our very informative guide for the next two days. We learned so much about Torajan culture and were lucky to see a wedding and also attend a funeral. We bought food in the market to cook the very special Pa’Piong which Ayub is very proficient at. It’s cooked in bamboo over an open fire and tastes delicious. If you want to experience living in a quiet place out of town with beautiful locals to look after you we highly recommend.
