My best friend and I came here to enjoy the peace away from the hustle and bustle of city work and let me tell you, the sounds of the lake were soothing beyond our expectation. It was more like a quiet ocean than a lake. It was perfect. The A frame is in beautiful condition and nicely decorated. The beds were SO comfy, there’s plenty of living space, and the windows all open easily for a perfect breeze. My dog loved the lake, too. There are quite a few steps from the parking spot and down to the dock, but they’re not slippery and they’re well built. Joe & Megan as hosts are wonderful, they’re responsive, kind, and thoughtful. 10/10 would go back…. Hopefully for longer.

Absolutely Beautiful! My husband and I travel a lot and have booked a lot of different Airbnbs in a lot of different places, this by far was one of my favorites. The house was clean and spacious and stocked with everything you could imagine you’d need and the view is absolutely beautiful. We celebrated our anniversary here and definitely have memories we will cherish. Oh I also have to add this as well. The first date I booked the house for I unexpectedly became ill and needed to change our dates, Vernon Real Estate was very kind and understanding and worked with me. I really appreciated that.

We loved this place. It was even more beautiful in person and is very well maintained. The owners clearly take a lot of consideration and are proactive in providing what guests may need. The view is gorgeous and can be enjoyed from the large screened-in porch, fire pit area or dock, which was so great when running after kids but still be able to enjoy nature. I loved how lit up everything is at night as well - like the solar lights on the path and lights on the steps. The beds and linens were very comfortable. I even fell in love with the couch! So comfy!

Beautiful spot on the lake. For this price point, sometimes the locations can be a bit more "rustic" than fits our taste. This was just right on, very nice, not luxurious, but no weird smells, perfectly clean, comfy bed. Service was excellent. 15 min from VIR.

What a gorgeous home! This stay exceeded all of our expectations. From start to finish, Mark was informative and easy to communicate with. He even gave me the perfect recommendation for a local place to do a long run during our stay. Mark’s home was clean and filled with everything we needed. I love that this is clearly a home Mark and his family visit often, and it felt like being in our own home. The kids were comfortable and entertained, my husband relaxed in front of the tv, and I got to spend time reading on the dock. This was a 5 star experience and we will definitely be back!

This house was the perfect setup for a multi-generational family vacation. Everyone had ample space to retreat to and the common areas were spacious enough to come together for meals and hanging out. The pool + lake view was AMAZING and is even more beautiful in person. The private pool and covered dock allowed us to make the most of a mostly rainy trip, taking advantage of every break in the rain that we could. We also highly recommend the pontoon rental - it was super easy and convenient and was the highlight of our one sunny day! Alex was great to communicate with and was very attentive & responsive to every question. We hope to return for future trips! Loved it!

Karen had clear instructions for check in. The house was nice clean and roomy. It is also right next to downtown roxboro wich has some nice places to eat and drink. I was there on a business trip and will definitely be returning the next time I head that way. Thank you.

I really enjoyed my stay at Calyn's Place. Very clean and comfortable. It felt so much like home, reminded me of my childhood days spent at Grandparents home on the family farm. The open space in the home, with beams of Sun light peaking through. It is a very Peaceful and Quiet area. Calyn added a nice touch of welcoming with some Praline Pecans. The host and hostess of this home went over and beyond for my husband and I during our stay. They had great hospitality in assisting us with navigating to the home and entering the home. This home is a rare jewel in a great location. I couldn’t see staying in another airbnb when we visit our hometown.

It was absolutely perfect. I needed a comfortable and safe home away from home that I could still sit and enjoy beautiful Durham weather at for when I wasn’t working, this was exactly that. I would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat, the host was communicative and responded so incredibly fast and with such kindness that seems more rare than it should be.

I’d highly recommend staying at this clean, quiet and comfy garage apartment when in Durham. Its close proximity to Duke’s East campus makes it real nice and easy for a walk/run. This location is also very close to downtown so easy to access plenty of food/drink options!

Jodi was a lovely host. She gave us all the information we need prior during and after our stay. She responds fast and has great customer service. We informed her of an issue and she immediately acted and took care of us. I 10/10 recommend.

Jeff was extremely helpful in securing a last minute reservation for a surprise work trip to Danville. The place was well-appointed and superbly maintained, plus had easy free parking nearby and walkable to multiple restaurants, coffee, and the river walk. I'll be back!

Great stay! We rented this 2 bedroom unit for an out of town wedding and it was perfect! Jeff went out of his way to get us into the unit early and it was sparkly clean and beautiful! Everything seemed brand new, recently updated and really nice. The space is gorgeous and the building seems to be some type of artist loft. When you are looking for the entrance, look for a large red elephant! That was a helpful marker for us. Definitely would recommend and would stay here again !

We stayed in unit 203 after having booked a different unit. While on our way Jeff called to say the previous booking needed to extend their stay and offered us this larger unit at no extra cost. Jeff was professional and courteous and we were gracious for the upgrade at no cost for our “inconvenience”. I would recommend this stay to anyone looking to spend some time in downtown Danville.

Great location, clean space, great stay overall! Only issue we ran into is that there is only a single gate fob, which made coordination for coming and going difficult with two guests who had different agendas and timelines on our stay
