Lovely home! The guesthouse is attached to the main residence but very private-- we felt like we were in our own home. Beautiful patio overlooking the canyon, lovely quiet location away from the energy of downtown but still well located.

The location is absolutely awesome, right on the edge of the sand, with amazing walks on the beach. It is a very peaceful place. The cottage is rustic and lovely, and if the weather was a little colder than we had hoped, it was still super beautiful. The clouds and the fog rolling in was really amazing to see. The kitchen is well stocked, and the home is comfortable. It is possible to walk to the harbor and several restaurants there including a truly fine sushi place. It is a short drive to Ventura and several other spaces along the coast that are beautiful. I would highly recommend. Tiffany was very responsive, and we appreciated the chance to stay in this cottage on the sea.

My husband and I did a five day stay here and it was well worth it. We wanted to stay somewhere serene while still being able to explore Santa Barbara and Ojai. Santa Barbara is only 15 minutes away and Ojai is about 30 minutes. We bounced around between those two towns and also got to see what Carpinteria was all about. Steven's place is 7 minutes to the Carpinteria Bluffs where heaven meets earth. The locals are friendly and high in consciousness, they are one with the environment and take pride in their role in keeping it safe. The home itself is spacious with great views, the kitchen was fully stocked with the all the cooking essentials. Instacart delivers to this location if you need anything last minute. During the stay you will hear different sounds of farm animals in the distance which I found relaxing. The living room is comfortable with tons of lounge furniture and space. The outdoor decks have plenty of seating and is surrounded by wildlife. If you want peace come here!

Mili was fabulous! Responded so quickly. Had all that was needed ready for us! Very clean. Great space for a large group. Lots of seating inside and out. Plenty of tables. Lots of parking. Peacocks and bunnies in the yard! We loved our stay as we celebrated our son’s wedding locally! The rec room with the workout equipment was great. Air conditioning worked very well! Highly recommend!

Easy to find! Do not expect to get a sports car into the driveway. I have a 911 with a front end lift system and it would not fit. The location is nicely located within walking distance to the sand, restaurants, Port Hueneme scene and a short drive to anything between Santa Barbara and Westlake Village. Would stay again.

I don't usually write reviews but this one I had to. This was the absolute PERFECT place to stay for our long weekend in Santa Barbara. It was quiet yet very walkable to the beach and various restaurants and shops in downtown Santa Barbara. It was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Garage access was also helpful for our rental car. We would absolutely stay here again.

We enjoyed our time at the Rustic Retreat. Daniel was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Our family was displaced by the fires in L.A. and Daniel gave us a place to call home on short notice. The beds were cozy, the kitchen supplies ample, and the location serene. His place and hospitality gave us much needed respite. We are truly grateful for the time spent at the Rustic Retreat!

Our family needed a last minute place after deciding to take a spontaneous trip to see friends in SB. We were so happy with the space, and it was bigger than expected. We had everything we needed and would definitely stay again!
