Great place to stay. Lovely yard and hot tub. Very kid friendly with lot's of fun toys. Would definitely stay here again!

The cheery house was located on a peaceful cul-de-sac in an area near the Sacramento river. It had comfortable places to sit in/out and sleep, as well as good TV watching spaces.

Nice, well kept building. Right in the heart of Sacramento. Walking distance to Old Sac and the Capitol area. Nice balcony. All appliances function well. Well stocked. Easy, clear instructions from the host. Large TV in the living room. Kitchen well stocked. Locked parking - reserved spot. Very clean, exactly as seen in photos. Excellent communication with host. Great Wi-fi. Highly recommend if you are in Sacramento for business or for fun.

This was a perfect winter getaway for our family to go, the cousins enjoyed the game room (and keyboard) downstairs and the adults loved playing cards by the fire with the downstairs door closed (keyboard noise stayed downstairs 😆). The hot tub looking over the forest was lovely. Comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen, responsive and helpful hosts. We can’t wait to be back and experience the location in the summer!

Great value Cynthia was an absolute joy. Bed was as comfortable as advertised, and the hot tub was perfect. I cannot say enough about my stay at Cynthia’s place. I look forward to returning again.

Really enjoyed staying here. Love how the sun hits into the room in the daytime. Decor makes it one of a kind, not like most airbnbs with no character. Host very responsive. Left some things and has been helpful trying to get them back to me. Would book again.

Amazing quiet and peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle! The garden was exactly as whimsical and magical as advertised. The studio cottage was the perfect size for us and the kitchen was a very welcome addition! (Let's not forget the hot tub!) Raymond was lovely and the stay was everything I wanted from a relaxing vacation.

AMAZING!!!! We were looking for a snowy forest getaway for the weekend and Stefanie's place was IT!!! (FYI: snow is rare at this altitude) As her listing says, it is a rural location, so if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is it! The house was very clean and the kitchen was large and could easily accommodate cooking three meals a day. Food options are about a mile or two away (since Apple Hill farms are only open in the fall). There is a bonus room down stairs with TV and lots of games. Parking right in front of the house. Stefanie communicated very quickly! I booked this stay last minute (within 4 hours of arrival) and she was very responsive and helpful. She even drove up to the house prior to our arrival to heat it up and start a fire. Would DEFINATELY RECOMMEND!!!!!!

We truly enjoyed our stay here and were impressed by the exceptional quality of service and attention to detail throughout our visit. This was not our first stay at the Story Homestead and won’t be our last. The house is perfect for our needs, mini french bulldog, and making meals. It is always exceptionally clean; guest instructions are clear. The surroundings are beautiful and so peaceful with lots of delightful bird watching and walks. The fireplace insert is very warming with plenty of wood provided. We are looking forward to staying again in the spring.

Great place. Paula was great at being proactive with all directions and arrangement. She took great care that guests always had the best experience. The stay is actually better than the pictures. I was able to foresee this having some experience staying. I had to convince my friends hard to finalize with this place. Eventually, they were super happy with the stay. I’m glad I was able to give my group an experience they cherish for a long time. My friends already told that we would want to stay for longer here to fully enjoy it. The place and Paula’s great attention to detail in keeping the house great did the magic of turning out people who weren’t fully onboard with the pics. Trust me, this house has all that you need for a nice getaway ! Again much better than the pictures ! Thank you Paula.

Great place to stay in the country yet nearby the city. It worked out great for us and our two dogs with lovely grounds and places to walk. The hosts were friendly and accomodating. Highly recommend!

We all loved the house, the surroundings, and peaceful/quiet setting. It was comfortable, clean, well stocked, etc. Everything regarding our stay was A+! The pool table was a big hit too. Don & Cynthia are extremely helpful & went above & beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Our group had a wonderful time and we would love to come back. Thank you for letting us use your beautiful home.

Stayed here with a group of friends - lots of beds so we each got our own, which is rare. The house was well stocked - kitchen, towels, etc. We enjoyed using the indoor/grotto hot tub. Cute shops & restaurants in the area (15-20ish mins). Thanks for a great stay!

Fawzia and Ash provide a private Casita for their guests, which is spacious and beautiful. Their warm , and generous hospitality is an outstanding feature. Happily this environment became our home for two months. We found the amenities of this listing to be excellent. Fawzia regularly checked with us to make sure we were comfortable and responded quickly to any request we made. Be sure to review the pictures because they tell the story of the lovely comfortable home we enjoyed this winter! We highly recommend this listing!

I rented Don and Kathy’s home to throw a baby shower. Keep in mind there is an event fee if you’ll have guests joining for the day, but it was very reasonable, especially for everything this house and our hosts gave us in return. There was so much open green space, greenhouse was more spacious and beautiful than what it looked like in the photos, and you can tell they put a lot of love and care into this family home. It was very clean and guest ready, but you can tell people actually live here and IMO it felt made it feel warmer compared to company owned Airbnbs that feel sterile. When they say their kitchen is fully stocked, they mean FULLY stocked. Don and Kathy are excellent hosts as well - they were so responsive and responded personally to all our messages and very quickly. When you get close the roads are not lit, so for some it might be a little scary to navigate in the dark. Just drive slow and once you get to where GPS drops you off it’s easy to see the house from the road!

The house is in a great location - you can walk to the Rec Center which made our lives pretty easy. You can hear cars throughout the day (the house is close to a busy road), but they were out in the distance and it didn't bother us a bit. The house was organized - we had plenty of room for two families. Patsy provided linens, towels, soap and shampoo and more. The pantry was well stocked with basic staples. We were there when it was HOT (over 100 degrees in some days) - the room air-conditioning in the main living space was enough to keep us cool. Patsy also had a system for working out the fans in the bedrooms that worked out well for us. I also appreciate that Patsy and Roger are great communicators - we had all the info we needed before we arrived. Whenever we had a question, they were prompt in replying. I'd definitely stay over in this special place in Arnold.

One-of-a-kind home (two of a kind, I guess, if you count the CO version) made an unforgettable experience for our family (5 adults, 3 kids and 2 pups)!! Thoughtful consideration seeped in every nook and cranny! 1) brilliant open layout strikes perfect balance between having a corner/plenty of room for everyone, yet still with a lovely sense of togetherness; 2) exceptionally well-equipped and spacious kitchen; 3) play closet with enough toys and board games to keep our 2yo toddler and pre-teen girls equally entertained; 4) winter gear to borrow -- sleds, snowshoes, etc. -- kids spent hours playing in the hill across the street (within sight from the cabin). In terms of virtually every amenity -- from quality kitchenware, comfy beds, toiletries, extra blankets, towels, spare friggin' batteries -- the Chesa Madrisa was a couple notches above what one should be able to reasonably expect from a vacation rental! Hillary was an absolute joy to communicate -- we can't wait to be back!
