A rustic cabin in the woods for some R and R was what we had hoped for…and we got it! Beautiful wood beams. So nice to have a private bathroom, as well as a window unit for heat and A/C. The shared kitchen was less than 50 feet away and had all the cooking vessels, utensils and cookware to make a meal. But we loved going to cafe! Barbara and her team served up delicious meals.

The place was excellent and Robin is extremely accommodating. It was the perfect distance from Shenandoah National Park (about 40 mins from Old Rag). I only wish I could have spent more time there during the day with beautiful property and very friendly barn animals. Will certainly be back when I come this way again!

Very peaceful setting. Serene, quiet, and remote like I wanted! Accomodations were warm and ideal for 'glamping'....

It has become a tradition for us to come here to celebrate birthdays-as the site is so special and memorable.

We absolutely loved our stay at the cozy cottage! Upon arrival, we were greeted with a sweet personal note that made us feel right at home. The location is stunning, and we wish we could have explored the trails, but the weather and our other commitments kept us busy. We can’t wait to come back and enjoy everything this beautiful place has to offer!

This place was our best choice even before we realized there would be a freshly-prepared, multi-course gourmet breakfast. House is as advertised, clean, and well-located. Scott and Lisa are friendly, responsive, and fantastic cooks. Enjoy!

My man and I had a wonderful time having a quiet and private weekend getaway. The place is so cozy and the hosts are so welcoming. It’s a beautiful view off the back porch. One of the highlights of my weekend was getting to spend time with Bilbo the cat. He was so snuggly and gave us a warm welcome as soon as we arrived! Would love to come back here again!

Very cozy and peaceful cabin. Great porch to sit out in the morning to drink coffee and enjoy the beautiful views. Great fire pit to keep us warm while sitting out watching the stars. Woodstove and warm blankets made it comfy inside at night. Our 2 dogs loved it as well. Houston and Anne Marie were marvelous hosts, proactive with check in instructions, and responsive throughout our stay, making sure we had plenty of firewood. This was our first stay but we've already planned our next visit in the spring! Highly recommend the Humble Abode.

2nd time at this location, and have already booked a third visit upcoming in 2 weeks! can't say enough good things about this place.

I loved my stay at the treehouse. It was everything I hoped for and more. It was very peaceful, comfortable, and lovely. This location is in a good spot to easily get to many fun destinations like Blue Ridge Parkway, Shenandoah National Park, Grand Caverns, and an adorable town filled with good restaurants and shops, Staunton.

Daniel was the most commutative and friendly host! he answered all of our questions and the stay was absolutely astounding! when you ride into the place on the gravel road, once you get to the private fence in the front that leads to the tiny home, you are totally captivated. it looks like a picture out of a magazine. The space is incredibly large and the trails were so calm and peaceful to walk with our dog. we really enjoyed ourselves. the home itself was comfortable. have all the amenities that you need. we would definitely be coming back again. we enjoyed our experience and the hot tub, start getting that done early so you can enjoy it for the whole trip that you were there.

This place is amazing! The host was really great and made us feel very welcome! We thoroughly appreciated the kindness that he showed us. The view was beautiful and the house itself was very cozy and clean. We loved the minimalist vibe and would 100% come again!

Loved the cottage! Jess was friendly and informative. The cottage was clean and cozy. We will definitely be back. There was so much to do in Gettysburg and was only a short drive from the cottage. Thank you so much for having us!

We loved our stay at Marlan’s hobbit home. It was so peaceful to read inside by the fireplace and sit outside listening to the frogs and birds. It was extremely clean and comfortable inside. (The waffle maker was a nice touch!) There are some wonderful wineries and the Luray Caverns a short drive away which made for a fun weekend.

We had a great stay, the view from the cabin is beautiful. The road is very rough leading up to the cabin but they do offer a vehicle if needed. The cabin itself looked recently renovated and was very clean inside, we enjoyed using the wood stove and hot tub. With no leaves on the trees, it does feel a little more exposed as there is newly constructed houses above and behind the cabin, but it was still fairly private.

My husband and I were getting married and we decided that although we live just a few minutes up the road that some privacy before and after the wedding would be needed. I didn’t feel like I was near my home, it felt away from everything, no one bothered us and the place was great. The jacuzzi was absolutely amazing, and we had everything we needed.

Wonderful place to stay with beautiful access to the river, I am so grateful I was able to spend my weekend here! Ned and Holly were responsive and everything was provided that I needed. Very kid-friendly so I hope to return with my toddler some day :)

Precisely as advertised, peaceful and quiet. Don’t trust your GPS, use the directions they give you.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The house was darling. We are local so this was just a fun getaway. Donnie had lots of suggestions of places to eat around there. It felt private but lots of wineries nearby. I would definitely recommend this place. Thank you again for a wonderful experience.

We had a fantastic time! Katie and Jen are extremely helpful and friendly hosts who went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. The property is beautiful. The tiny home is very well appointed with everything you need. The queen bed was comfortable and my teenage son slept well on the chair that converted to a twin bed. Instructions were clear from booking to check out with very responsive host, we never had an unanswered question. We’ll be back!

The cabin was the perfect spot for a weekend away from the city. It had all the things we were looking for — campfire for smores, spots for stargazing, and land for the dog to run around. Firewood included was a huge plus! There’s not much around, but a little country store had everything we needed. We look forward to returning and plan to rent the chalet with friends. Thanks for such a great weekend!
