Had a lovely few days stay. Was a very tranquil location and very relaxing. Stopping by to see the animals on site was a wonderful experience. The kitchen was equiped with enough pans to make meals while we stayed there. The shop was a wonderful touch to pick up produce from the farm or just a few ammenities that might be needed. So relaxing to sit in the hot tub in the evening after exploring local attractions which have very helpfully been highlighted in a small guide. Looking to return in summer to make full use of the bbq on site and firepit.

A truly beautiful cabin set in peaceful surroundings. The cabin has everything you need. I stayed for a wedding locally and it was the perfect location and provided everything I needed. Would highly recommend and would love to go back to explore the hikes around the area. Carol and George are wonderful hosts and very helpful.

We had such a lovely time at the shepherds hut, a perfectly peaceful and quiet get away - just what we needed! Great location for picturesque walks. We walked along Offas Dyke took 2.5 hrs straight from the hut. The local town had everything you needed only a short drive or 20 min walk away. We grabbed a takeaway pizza from Daphnes which was very delicious. Despite wet weather all weekend it did not dampen our spirits. The covered kitchen was a perfect location to cosy up and watch the thunder and lightning. It had everything you needed to make breakfast. The provided bread, bacon, eggs & milk were a lovely addition. The bed was very very comfy and the hut was clean, tidy & cosy. The hill up to the hut is steep but the provided wheelbarrow helped. Leaving in the rain was hilarious.

We loved our stay, thank you! We wanted a quiet and relaxing way to ring in the New Year after a busy Christmas, and this was perfect. The cabin was cosy and warm, even during 50mph winds!

AMAZING stay in a nearby paradise. Everything you need to connect back to nature. Cosy and beautiful - would have stayed there forever if we could have!

The Cowboys hut was a beautifully made hut in an idyllic location. Danna left a lovely welcome hamper on arrival and the hut was clean and tidy. The log fire kept us toasty and we would love to visit again.

I have stayed at Gilwern several times, and as with each previous occasion I found Emma had made a huge effort to ensure the accommodation was very comfortable and well presented. I love the views, the peace and quiet, and always enjoy trying to find a fossil in the quarry. I will hope for another return trip in a year or two.

Really lovely few days spent here - I got all the weathers, but it didn't spoil it one bit! Totally secluded, which is what I was after, but still with a proper bathroom and kitchen to hand, to could just completely relax and stay in. Cosy evenings with log burner roaring - very efficient and warmed up the hut quickly! Birds and squirrels visited the feeding station each morning, so felt very Snow White, and could hear owl at nighttime. As in other review: There are no plug sockets - None. So come fully charged and with charged up power packs, in case of emergency if you venture out (though, I recharged at pubs/cafes when I was out!) Beautiful views, quiet, secluded spot - You will completely relax here!

What a beautiful place to stay! Hosts are lovely and so are the neighbours (the sheep and pony🥰). Beautiful surrounding and such peace and tranquility. The home itself is just perfect - bed is super comfy, bathroom and kitchen are great! The private hot tub just adds to the perfection of the place. I cannot fault anything. I would definitely go back and will be recommending to others. Thank you!

The cabin has a beautiful view, inside is small but tidy. The kitchen area has all the essentials except burner. So unless eating out, for eating in the options are barbeque or using the microwave. The bathroom/toilet is located about 30 seconds walk outside the cabin in the yard, it was a little bit inconvenient but still fine for a two night stay. Fran is nice and welcoming, she showed us around the cabin upon arrival.

Wow...just WOW! This place is a little slice of heaven. Amazing location. So peaceful. The hut had everything you needed. Super comfy and cozy. Sian and Jack are just the best hosts. They gave us everything we needed to make out stay ideal. Friendly, welcoming and informative re all the bits and bobs in the local area. Make sure you do the Bryn Arw and Sugar Loaf circular and stop at the Crown for a well earned pint or too.

Great place to escape and unwind from busy lives! Huw (host) was very accommodating and a lovely host! Def recommend!

What an absolutely amazing and adorable place to stay. We have visited a few Shepherd's huts but this one takes the trophy. Both Lou and Mark were great hosts, they greeted us upon arrival and gave a thorough walk round of amenities. The hut itself was immaculately clean and tidy. The separate Kitchen/Bathroom area was immediately next to the hut itself, so there was no 'shall I go to the toilet now, in the middle of the night, or.hold out for the morning' dilemma. The actual location itself makes it a good base for exploration. To be truthful, we were sad that we had to come home! We cant wait for our next trip/adventure there! ❤️❤️😍

Wir haben nach einer etwas außergewöhnlichen Unterkunft mit ein bisschen Abenteuer gesucht - und haben sie bei Jane gefunden. Die Hütte ist absolut gemütlich, die Aussicht ist fantastisch, der Luxus mit Dusche, Wasser Toilette und Küche war absolut fabelhaft und machte unseren Aufenthalt sehr angenehm. Besonders gefreut hat uns der süße Schwedenofen. Und was gibt es besseres, als vor der offenen Türe mit Aussicht auf die gerade aufgegange Sonne hinter der Hügeln ein leckeres Frühstück mit einem Strauß von Janes Blumen auf dem Tisch zu genießen? Jane war sehr aufmerksam und hilfreich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können die Schäferhütte wirklich empfehlen. Vielen Dank, dass wir kommen durften ☺️

Simply stunning! A cosy, homely hut with breathtaking views. Perfect to admire with a cuppa first thing, or while you're relaxing in the wood fired hot tub 😍. The hut was set-up perfectly, spotlessly clean and it had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. It is very well secured and private, which meant we were able to let both of our dogs wander without having to keep too much of an eye on them! Liz was extremely friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived; providing us with, not only relevant information regarding the hut, but also local walks we could adventure with our dogs. Thank you so much for having us all. What you have created with the hut is absolutely gorgeous. Lovely shepherd's hut in a beautiful location. Every little detail had been thought about in the space and Rita and David clearly take pride in hosting. Despite it being February, the hut was nice and cosy and warm and it was such a lovely touch that they provide guest slippers for when the floor can be cold! The shower was a dream after a cold afternoon hiking. The Royal Oak pub was a couple of minutes walk from the pub with an inviting fire and friendly staff. We did a lovely walk on the Offa's Dyke path and Hergest Ridge, which were very easy to get to from the hut. We would cerainly recommend staying here if you want to explore the local area and we're sure it would be lovely to sit outside in the summer months admiring the view and listening to the stream! Thanks for a great stay!

We have just returned from our minimoon after our wedding on Friday. Our stay exceeded our expectations! Bryn's communication was exceptional. He was flexible with our plans changing to include our fur baby, answered messages quickly and with accurate map Pins to make places easy to find. His recommendations were great, the nearby pub 'The Ravon' - delicious food, attentive staff and a cosy atmosphere. The nearby indian, wow the best we've had and the 'Bay Tree Cafe' what a gem! Bryn was friendly, approachable and went above and beyond to make our stay special with newly wed bunting, a bottle of bubbles and some homemade produce which was super tasty. Everything from the property itself, to the log burner, views and hot tub made our stay one we will never forget. It was a really special time as we enjoyed our new bubble as husband and wife! We will definitely return, Bryn has a special set-up here and his personable approach makes it. We will be regualars how. The Listers x

Gorgeous hut was bigger than it appeared in the add very luxury, clean and all mid cons. Catherine & Brian very friendly and a lovely welcome pack on our arrival. Will definitely being going back

The hut was lovley and warm and loved the underfloor heating. Prefect for couples. The veiws were beautiful too. Also not far from things, only 30 mins from the four waterfalls in brecon beacon a most see. Also a little town 5 mins down the road with shops. Loved the hut being on a working farm you can hear the cows from time to time. At nignt was peaceful. They also have a farm dog called bryn he was really friendly.
