Dawn was fantastic from the word go, responding quickly and clearly to messages- she’s a super friendly host! Her place was perfect for our walking weekend away with friends, we cooked there, had a dip in the hot tub, walked and went to the local pub which was great too. The house is brilliant, she’s lovely - and we’ll certainly be coming back (we hope!) Thank you so much for having us, Dawn!

Absolutely stunning place to stay. we were really taken back by the quality of facilities, fixtures and fittings, it's clear that no expense has been spared. The house is extremely comfortable and the beds and pillows were the comfiest we've ever used outside of home. The surroundings are breathtaking and the outdoor space is just incredible, we didn't want to leave. Host was very helpful, supportive, kind and good at communicating. we would absolutely recommend and have no doubt about returning. We took a 1 year old too, who was very well catered for with an available cot, high chair and baby bath. Thanks for a lovely weekend!

We loved the cottage ,so clean and comfortable and the garden/stream /swing and animals were a real hit with the children. We were made to feel very welcome -homemade cake ,lovely coffee ,bread and eggs ,such a nice touch with Easter eggs for the kids . Thank you Tracey and Dave .

We had a lovely family stay. The cottage and esp the hot tub were fab. Lots for the kids to play with and do, and nice to chill out

The cottage was beautiful and so peaceful. We sat outside every morning listening to the birds with a cup of coffee and in the evenings, we had so many options- from a cosy seating area and outdoor fire, to the lounge with a fantastic stove - or the hot tub once we’d gotten it warm. We visit the area a lot and the location is great! There are walks on the doorstep- and within 20 mins you can hire bikes and canoes/paddle-boards! Coming back to a serene private retreat after an active day is just bliss. Beds are very comfy, kitchen is well equipped and Meng kindly left the essentials (tea,coffee, hot chocolate, milk and eggs- as well as oil and spices!) We would definitely stay again! Soldiers cottage is a cute, cozy little cottage suitable for a single person or couple. The hot tub outside is covered and private. We cooked in the kitchen and found everything we needed. Comfortable bed. Gina and her husband were both lovely and very welcoming. We had a great relaxing couples break here. Highly recommend.

Beautiful place - entirely idyllic: perfect for a short stay away from the city. The views were amazing, and the hot tub an absolute treat. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again/recommend to a friend. Thanks Jeremy!

Karl was waiting for me, when I arrived. Very friendly and informative. Always helpful and even loaned me a rucksack, for my walking, as I had left mine at home. The accommodation is only 10 mins from the Elan Valley reservoirs and the Dark Sky Park. Excellent location Both front and rear gardens have boundaries, so great for letting my dogs investigate securely. I plan to go again, after summer.

Lock Cottage is a wonderful property. The location is idyllic and peaceful but with easy access to supermarkets etc in Welshpool and well placed for exploring Shropshire and Mid Wales. Berriew (with local shop and cafe) is a short walk down the canal and there's a great pub in the other direction. The house itself had everything we needed for a family holiday with 2 teenagers and dog. The house is really well laid out and such an easy, comfortable property to stay in. Emma and Andrew have clearly spent a lot of time thinking about what makes a great holiday and the house has been renovated to a very high standard. Little extras like dog towels, dog bowls, great outdoor facilities and lovely welcome pack were all very much appreciated. Emma was an excellent host who was very quick to respond to messages. We plan to return and bring bikes next time to take advantage of the excellent cycle facilities!

Had a great weekend stay here - was really cosy, clean and had everything i needed! The lemon drizzle cake was a lovely, personal touch :) would definitely come back.

Wonderful long weekend at Flagstone Cottage, the most peaceful place we’ve ever been, no car noises whatsoever and beautiful scenery. Cottage was exactly as described. We asked for the BBQ to come back out and Clare actually brought out all the outside furniture for us to use which was a nice surprise when we got back from our day trip. Our 5yo daughter loved the mezzanine bedroom and being able to have multiple baths a day (we only have a shower at home). The walk from Llanthony Priory up Hatterhall hill is amazing and the pint in the priory grounds at the end was very scenic and rewarding! Hay-On-Wye is well worth a visit, Abergavenny also.

What a perfect stay! Jo’s place was lovely, it had everything you could need. Was quiet, peaceful, exactly as described. Jo’s guide to the place was so thorough and very helpful. We went on some lovely walks in the area - great location, can get to some really great spots without driving. Will come again :)

What a lovely cottage , situated in an outstanding area of great walks , canoeing and pubs all within easy walking distance. The cottage is cosy and has everything you need including the necessary, wifi, a bluetooth speaker, open fire and nice touches like torches for walking in the evening. The Ye olde Ferrie boat Inn has a great atmosphere and good food and outdoor seating by the river. Dog Friendly inside too. This is only 10 min walk from the cottage. The Saracens head is on the other side of the river . They do have a hand ferry but only in peak season, so otherwise it is an hour walk up the river to the footbridge 30 mins( which is a modern style rope type bridge which is exciting) and then back along the river to the pub 30 mins. Coming back in the dark was fine and under the stars and listening to all the wildlife in the Forest was quite magical. Also dog friendly , so you can choose how energetic you want to be for your lunch or evening meals! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The bungalow is clean, comfortable and provided all that we needed for a short Easter break. The living area was equipped with all the basics, as well as with free Wi-fi and Netflix, although no other channels were available. The tv was small (32"), especially when seated on the sofa or armchair. During our three night stay, the local Forest School and Oakraven Centre had children attending courses, so there was something of a mini 'Rush hour' in the morning and evening. It was not a problem but required wariness for walkers and opposing traffic in a single track road. The woodland walks locally are good and plentiful, Lorraine providing good guidelines to other attractions and trails. A beautiful area.

The cottage itself was a beautiful old cottage with an abundance of charm set in a beautiful location. We loved the ability to go for lovely countryside walks without the need to drive. We will definitely be making a return visit to explore more of the area.

A perfect bolt hole while visiting a friend for a few days. A cosy cottage in an idyllic setting. The homemade brownies and bread were a lovely, welcoming touch too. I’m sure we will be back. Thank you Kirstie.

We spent a wonderful Christmas week at Paul and John’s cottage. The building has been carefully and thoughtfully restored and is really snug and cosy. We found everything has been considered making it well equipped and extremely comfortable for any length of stay. The views across the Radnorshire Hills into Shropshire from the cottage are amazing and there are plenty of long-distance paths (Offa’s Dyke Path and Glyndwr’s Way) close by to use as the centre for some good walks. We can truly recommend this for a base for a holiday in a beautiful area of Wales.

It was beyond words , it took my breath away, especially the swing :) lol, Seeing the sheep so up close was amazing and so special, The WiFi was very strong , even one bedrooms , If you want somewhere to relax and unwind , this is definitely the place for you, Jon was an amazing host, very responsive, answered all my questions, Very kind , Fully recommend,

We had a cosy stay. We loved the light, airy, oak beamed sun room with underfloor heating. Lots of hot water for showers and baths. Enjoyed the Aga, (would like more time to get used to cooking on it..... but a managed a tarte Tintin.) Serena very helpful and friendly, will answer questions. When we arrived the fire was lit and bread, milk, eggs, crisps and biscuits had been kindly left. There were staples in the cupboard which was very handy.

Highly recommend this cottage . Stunning location on hillside with beautiful views across the valley, within easy reach of outdoor activities and selection of pub restaurants. Cottage is cosy , well equipped and nicely decorated. Great balcony for morning coffee or breakfast. Bridget was brilliant with prompt communication and easy to follow instruction . There for the weekend but could have stayed longer.

We were sad to leave but so very happy that in our travels our paths crossed with Sophie, Michael, their homely cottage, & their magical gardens. Sophie is a terrific host—kind, considerate, generous. Our stay at Kingstone Cottage was a month long so we lived & worked from the cottage (excellent Wifi, dedicated work space, quiet surroundings). The kitchen is well equipped, bright and airy with a fantastic view of one of the many garden spaces). Tania worked from the kitchen table comfortably on several occasions. We made use of all appliances (including the vacuum, keeping the cottage clean & tidy was super easy). Shops are nearby for your everyday groceries, walkable if you take the public footpath as Sophie recommended, we did more birding this way. Another definite: spend some quiet time in the many lovingly curated private garden spaces Sophie and her husband Michael have created over the 50 years they have lived at Kingstone, truly a special place you won't easily forget.

We had an amazing 3 night stay at Lavender Cottage. The cottage had everything we could need for a relaxing family break and we loved the rural, peaceful setting. We were blessed with lots of sunshine and due to the season were lucky enough to help feed the lambs. Thank you for a wonderful break, we will definitely be back.
