The home was roomy and accommodating for myself and my siblings. Wish it was warmer and we would have enjoyed the pool. The neighborhood was safe and grounds well cared for. It made our weekend ideal for us to spend time together.

I had a lovely stay. I work overnights and cherish quiet places like this. I almost can never sleep during the day without ear plugs and a noise machine. It was so peaceful! The hot tube and outdoor shower are amazing. The host was very friendly and responsive. They talked on the phone with me twice, once before I got there, and once after, but left me to my privacy. Honestly couldn't think of a single improvement. The house is clearly lived in and has everything you could think of. The bedrooms are older, but that's part of the charm. I spent most of my afternoons waking up on the deck or throwing the ball for my dogs. I wish I could stay here every time!

What a great find in an out of the way place. Would love to come in summer but honestly, it was great cool weather to enjoy the house and view of the ocean. Saw seals and dolphins and birds, barely any humans! Best find was Pezzini Farms right outside the colony. Go there for good food!

Lovely place! The backyard was so beautiful. We wish we had more days to spend. It came equipped with laundry room, fans, heaters if needed, and a full kitchen. It’s great to save a little by making own meals sometimes. We were comfortable and so pleased…

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this place! We used to live in the area and wanted a quick getaway — Crystal made the whole process simple. She was very responsive and provided clear instructions, making everything smooth from start to finish. The place looked exactly like the photos in the listing, and we loved being able to walk down to the beach to play all day, then wind down at night listening to the sound of the ocean. I would highly recommend this place and would love to stay again!

The house is beautiful and comfortable and nestled on a hillside with great views of nature and a clear view of the night sky. Enjoyed the fireplace and all the amenities in the home. Would definitely return.

The house was great for our family stay. Lots of space, all on one level, and beautiful outdoor space. We travelled with our kids and they had a great time in the pool :) Note there is extra cost if you want the pool to be heated. Thanks for a great stay!

We spent a long weekend at Lauren's place and it was a wonderful, relaxing home away from home. Check-in was super smooth and we absolutely loved the area the listing was in. It's walkable (or a very short drive) to many local eateries, breweries, shops, and cafes on the west side and there's also plenty of nature-oriented things to do since it's so close to the ocean — hikes, beaches, walks, parks etc. The listing itself was very clean and had everything we need. Lauren even left some snacks and drinks for us as a welcome gift which we thought was very sweet. The kitchen is well stocked for your needs there. The one small setback was that it didn't have a a full sized refrigerator so the frozen foods we bought didn't quite fit into the mini fridge's freezer section. Everything was spotless and though it was raining while we were there, we would definitely come back and enjoy the patio space next time. Highly recommend this listing for a peaceful getaway to Santa Cruz.

Ben was very responsive to all questions. Super easy check-out. Home was spotless and well-stocked. Great location…we walked to downtown and there were close grocery stores. Would absolutely stay here again.

Always a favorite spot for us! We especially appreciate to ability to easily get anywhere in the South Bay Area. Highways 85 and 280 are close by as well as the San Jose airport. The place was super quiet, as always, and very private. We'll be back for our next visit! Thank you.

This was our third stay at the Blue Whale Bungalow, and it remains our favorite place to stay in Rio del Mar! Mariam is a wonderful and generous host who immediately remembered our family and welcomed our two dogs. The Blue Whale Bungalow is clean and cozy, with everything you need to enjoy the beach or relax indoors. It is located just two blocks from the beach, where you can enjoy the ocean breeze, search for sea glass, and admire the beautiful sunsets. We look forward to visiting the Blue Whale Bungalow very soon!

This was our third year using Donna’s home for our week-long annual trip to the Monterey peninsula. We have always been pleased with our stay, and this year was no different. Donna’s home has everything a family or group could need. The home has always been clean and tidy. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood, and very close to most of the points of interest in this area including golf courses, the popular Monterey Bay Aquarium/Fisherman’s Wharf, and Laguna Seca Raceway. Her communication has been friendly and clear - no troubles to speak of. If you are considering a stay in this area, either short or longer term, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it!

My family and I spent Christmas and New Year's at Justin's place, enjoying his beautiful decorated tree, thoughtful gifts, and delicious cake from a well known bakery and the stunning views of the mountains and city lights, including a firework show from the city. Justin‘s house is just big enough that we all have our own personal space but cozy enough that as a family we were all together.

Five stars all around! Kathy's place was the perfect getaway for New Years for my family and small pup. This place stood out as we were trying to escape fireworks and loud parties during the week for my rescue dog and Life was Good! Kathy provided everything needed and has created a cozy stay away from home. Unexpected delicious snacks were left for us, an air mattress for an extra guest was put out, located under mature oak trees and close to incredible restaurants and beaches.. It couldn't get any better. Kathy was incredibly responsive and kind. We would definitely book again for a quiet stay away from all the city noise. Thank you for everything Kathy and we hope to see you again!

This was a 10/10 stay for us. Clean, great location, and family friendly. We highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

We cant say enough about the stay at Marielle’s place. Started with some delicious soft baked brownies, an impeccably clean space, fully stocked kitchen. The surroundings are breathtaking and the house has such a peaceful vibe to it. The views of the ocean and trees is idyllic and we sat there drinking coffee for a sweet amount of time. The home is also stocked with bathroom essentials, hot tub, and fantastic coffee options (coffee beans, espresso, brew). We felt perfectly at home, serene, and wish would have stayed even longer! One of the best airbnbs we’ve been to.

It felt right at home. Clean smell as you walk in. Fit all of our group (18 of us). Loved it

The Beach House was exactly as described - tastefully remodeled while retaining the classic Aptos Beach bungalow vibe. Very thoughtfully prepared with outdoor games and items you would need for a beach getaway. The outdoor area and backyard are cleverly organized for everything you would want. I just wish we could have stayed longer (and had warmer weather!). Lots of great information in the folder for things to do and places to eat. Kudos!!

Sarah’s house is beautiful and exactly like the pictures! Super communicative with our every need. Tons of space and amenities! Loved the outdoor patio and the peek a boo ocean views! Sarah is an amazing host. Would absolutely stay here again! Love the fact that we were able to bring our dog! Thank you again for the amazing stay and making my family feel so welcomed!

What a great house in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. The house layout was perfect for our family gathering and the kitchen is well appointed. I will keep this house in mind for the next visit!

Perfectly appointed, beautifully renovated, and incredibly quiet, this sweet cottage is just two blocks from the beach. You’ll easily catch every sunset. This place is such a gem, and Andrew is a gracious and helpful host. I hope to be back again soon.

Julia has a wonderfully well maintained home and well stocked kitchen with all the essentials for cooking. Highly recommend this his home if you are interested in a relaxing homey environment where you can kick your shoes off, jump into comfy clothes, and leave the daily grind of life behind.. lots of deck space and comfortable outdoor seating as well
