We had an awesome adventure at Casa Roja, it was a beautiful house in an amazing location. We spotted monkeys from the living room most days, we were visited by the Macaws several times during our stay, and the tours of Corcovado & Canos were spectacular. Graciela and staff were extremely friendly, accommodating, and the prepared meals were delicious. It was obvious that our happiness and comfort was their priority. I would highly recommend Casa Roja for a Costa Rican retreat, just be prepared for the heat. Without a steady breeze or airflow via fans, the heat can be brutal for northerners like us.

We loved staying again! The location is perfect for us - both on the beautiful beach, and near the point. The house is set up just right to enjoy with friends with large gathering spaces, and still have some space of your own. We appreciate the care taken before arrival - the house is spotless, and has a homey feel with coffee and staples to get you started. Thank you for another terrific extended stay! We'll see you again!

The location is great, few doors down to a supermarket and few restaurants. The property is beachfront and private. It’s more worth than what I paid for. Ana is a really nice person and eager to help. I’ll be back!

Nous avons passé une très belle semaine dans cette maisonnette très bien équipée, neuve et à deux pas de la plage. La literie est de qualité, la maison était très propre. Nous avons apprécié l'eau extérieure pour se rincer après la baignade. La cuisine extérieure est très agréable et nous avions tous les jours la visite des aras rouges et des perroquets. Nous avons même pu apercevoir de nombreuses tortues proche du bord de plage. C'est un endroit très paisible où l'accès en voiture se fait sur une route non goudronnée et accidentée mais plate. Cela fait partie du charme de ce lieu. Le supermarché le plus proche est à 3 km environ.

The house is so beautiful! Loved the view and the open concept that makes you feel like you are part of the nature. This was our second stay at the house and we had an amazing time. Kim & Phil are great hosts and very kind. Also their resort up on the mountain Bosque del Cabo is amazing and dinner was fabulous there! The staff was incredibly attentive and takes great care of your your family. Lorena the caretaker of the home was very responsive and kind. Thank you all for a great stay in paradise ! Can’t wait to be back! Pura Vida ❤️🌸

Lapalandia was wonderful!! Just wish we had stayed more nights. It has a huge upstairs balcony with comfy seating and a large outdoor seating area with hammocks looking out over a lush tropical garden, and all things you need in the kitchen, bathroom, and living areas. Two things to be aware of are that the sleeping area is up a spiral staircase and all three beds are in the same room. So if you have to go to the bathroom at night you have to walk downstairs to the bathroom. Totally fine for us, but just in case you don't notice that in the photos! It was great being able to walk down a short path directly to Matapalo beach & King Louis Waterfall. It was also a short walk or drive to Backwash and Pan dulce. We enjoyed some excellent meals at Martina's, Encanta La Vida, Lapa Rios, and Bosque Del Cabo nearby. Highly recommend the hike up to the waterfall from the bridge as well. The host Rodrigo was very welcoming, incredibly helpful, and went above and beyond.

We loved the stay at Jamie’s place! The location is perfect walking distance to float the river, yoga, the beach and lots of yummy restaurants. The grounds are a pristine paradise with beautiful trees, plants birds, lizards and the sound of howler monkeys!! We arrived late, Jamie graciously welcomed us and made sure we had everything we needed. She’s an excellent host, we felt relaxed and right at home. We highly recommend and would love to come back!

Wir verbrachten wunderbare Tage in diesem Haus. Die Lage gleich beim Strand ist perfekt. Es ist ruhig , man hört und sieht nur viel Natur, was unbeschreiblich schön ist. Der kleine Pool perfekt zum Abkühlen. Alles im Haus bestens ausgestattet. Und die Gastgeber sind perfekte Hosts, sehr herzlich, sofort da, wenn man was braucht . Immer mit Rat und Tat zur Seite . 12 von 10 Punkten!!! We loved it!!

YOU MUST GO! That should certainly be the title to this review. I cannot say enough about Sarah’s beautiful space but allow me to try… From the very beginning Sarah was hands down one of the most responsive, caring + attentive hosts. She helped us plan not only our stay at her place but also helped direct our week’s great adventures (surfing, sport fishing, snorkeling, etc.) The home is welcoming + wonderful, you will not be disappointed. It’s close to everything you need but has its own private feel. My kids played in the pool + ocean all week long. We loved that the beach was only steps away. There are water toys, towels, snorkel gear, boogie boards + so many things that help make you feel right at home. Our favorite spot to eat was El Coquito, the pizza was delicious + they delivered. There are many things to do + see so we had to pick + choose but we will be back to keep exploring this sweet haven of Costa Rica. Pack your bags + DO NOT think twice. Playa Zancudo is waiting.

Una casa perfecta para viajar con niños, ya que su piscina es perfecta para que se bañen cuando la marea esta baja en la playa(rocas). Lugar idílico rodeado de monos y en frente de playa pan dulce perfecta ola para surfear con tu longboard. Mas que recomendable!volveremos!

An absolute epic spot! you are 30 sec walk to the beach and surf spot, 10 min drive from punta banco. The cabin are super cozy , private and the kitchen has everything you need. I stayed there for a week and Ian & Zara made me feel right at home. Such amazing host, always ready to help with recommendations of surf spot , restaurant, place to buy fresh tuna & fresh shrimps! For anyone on a surf trip this place got to be your first pick! 10/10

This was our first time renting an Airbnb in a foreign country, so we were a little nervous. Charles was super helpful and responsive during the whole trip. He gave us great recommendations, scheduled our excursions, and answered all of our questions. The main thing we wanted to do was to go offshore fishing. Charles hooked us up with two great captains (Louis and Donald (Dos Mas), and we had a great day of fishing. The house is located just a very short walk from the pier where you catch the boat. There are also several good restaurants that are within a short walk from the house. We also did an off-road drive and a short hike to the King Louis waterfall, tour of chocolate farm, and went surfing with Keilor (Lakos surf shop in town). We would recommend all of these activities highly. This was a great trip and we had a party of 6 from age 7 to 71. The fishing was amazing.

This is our second time staying at the home. It’s absolutely incredible. The beach is never crowded and right at your doorstep. There’s so much to do from snorkeling to fishing to surfing to hiking. Or you can just lounge and do absolutely nothing, surrounded by the beauty of the jungle. It’s everything you could ask for in a jungle setting. Chicky the caretaker is great, very responsive & super friendly. We will be back again.

If this home is available, you should definitely book it! My family and I stayed at this home for one week and enjoyed everything about it. The home is very private, safe and located on a spacious, beautifully landscaped property. The pool is a wonderful addition, especially for children. We loved the awning over the pool for shade, and sun. The outside terrace area is great for BBQing and relaxing in the hammocks. We loved the quirkiness of the home. It's an older Costa Rican home, but it has everything you need with hot water, AC, and solar panels - so even when the power went out all over Pavones we still had lights and AC. We slept very well in these beds (the room upstairs is bright, but the downstairs room is black-out). The kitchen is fully equipped, easy for cooking meals. The location was top-notch, easy to drive down to Pavones or Pilon for surfing. Last but not least, Valentine is a wonderful host and goes above and beyond. We definitely want to come back! 5 stars!

loved this little open air primitive cabin set back in the jungle! waking up to the chatter of the monkeys and seeing toucans off our porch, living off of fresh fruit, surfing, hiking to the waterfalls and swimming in the pools, sipping tea with the afternoon rains coming down and falling asleep to the sound of the ocean waves crashing on the shores in the distance. it was a perfect weekend getaway!

Paz is a special place and Roberto is a wonderful host. The floor to ceiling screens in the living room/dining room situate you right in the secondary forest. Heaven for nature loving bird nerds. If you’ve spent time on the Osa before, you know Howler monkeys wake you at 4:30am. We watched howler, spider, and squirrel monkeys from bed. The beach is a minute walk. A covered porch with hammocks and chairs to enjoy the beautiful Gulfo Dulce. And a small pool to cool off in (key) and watch Macaws, capuchin monkeys, hermit crabs & the waves. We bought groceries in Puerto Jimenez and cooked most of meals for the week. Kitchen has big fridge, sharp knives, and worked well for us. Marluna Lodge (5 min drive) for Taco Tuesday. Visited local surf breaks and surfed the right point break out front of Paz. Tide dependent. Roberto can help you figure it out. Roberto was very attentive, warm, and helpful. He’s created a beautiful space in a beautiful part of the world.

Great apartment to stay in Pavones. Jose’s is very attention’s host and takes good care of the guests. The place has everything you need to surf & enjoy this awesome part of Costa Rica!

What a beautiful place to stay. Our hosts were so fast in responding to anything we needed. Fast walk to all beaches and surf. Two walkable restaurants. Our room was clean and peaceful. Can’t say enough good things. 10/10 vacation.

Sabrina & Edu couldn’t have been better hosts! Their “end of the world” paradise is quiet & peaceful. Their home cooked meals were delicious & plentiful. The bungalows had thick netting so we could feel the cool night air as we slept. It was fabulous to wake up to all of the birdsongs every morning, They made a special effort to show us birds & animals. We really enjoyed the use of their boat to explore the River where their diverse ecosystem shines in the jungle. We also liked taking the boat on the lagoon to the beach. If you want a quiet and peaceful getaway, this is the place. However, Sabrina is happy to help you with any tours (and there are quite a few to choose from). We will always treasure our time here. :)

This was our family’s 5th trip to Pavones . We like to try different places and locations . Giselle’s home was beautiful , spacious and very comfortable. We had a smaller group and it didn’t feel overwhelming as it’s a big place . Outdoor spaces were amazing , and a quick walk to essentially a private beach . (Only saw 1 person over 8 days ) a short walk to La Pina restaurant for a pizza or dinner and only 3-5 minutes from various spots near Pavones point. I will say this was perhaps the most well equipped kitchen and linens we have experienced yet . Oliver the caretaker was quite helpful and his English is fair . Overall a very positive experience.
