We had an amazing stay at Oldemar’s place in Drake Bay. The location truly feels like the edge of the world—remote, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. Waking up to the sounds of the jungle and the view was simply magical. The apartment is incredibly well-equipped, with all the comforts of the city in a lost paradise deep in the jungle. The outdoor kitchen is fantastic, perfect for cooking while enjoying the surrounding nature, and the air conditioning works perfectly—an absolute luxury in this remote setting. Oldemar was a fantastic host, always available to help and provide recommendations. He was also very flexible with our checkout and luggage, which made our departure much easier. If you’re looking for a unique, off-grid experience in one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful and untouched regions, this is the perfect place. Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic stay at Linda’s! The apartment was super clean and AC kept us very cool. The street was a bit noisy the night we were there, but that’s to be expected at a central, walkable location in (any) town. Linda was one of the best hosts we’ve had, gave great recommendations on local restaurants, and went out of her way to accommodate us.

We had a 2 week vacation in Costa Rica with several different stays and this was easily one of our favorite places! First of all, the place is well equipped with amenities, clean, well priced, and very comfortable. The AC does an excellent job keeping the bedroom cool for sleeping (keep door closed!), which is especially appreciated given the heat and humidity. The area is beautiful, peaceful, and lush. Nearby Aventuras Cafe (owned by same family) has delicious food and coffee at reasonable prices relative to US. Tamar and Alberto are kind, welcoming and generous hosts as well! We would highly recommend to all! PS if you go we would highly recommend visiting Corcovado national park for a day (or at least 1 night if possible)

Kurz knapp: absolute Empfehlung. Wir haben uns ab der ersten Sekunde sehr wohl gefühlt, das Haus hat alles was man braucht um ein paar schöne Tage zu verbringen. Die Kommunikation und die Empfehlungen von Jenny waren klasse. Und ich mochte den Grundriss und die Art des Hauses sehr! Ihr habt ein tolles airbnb ❣️

Great location in the heart of Drake Bay! Plenty of activities and restaurants a short walk away and a beautiful view of the ocean. Vincent was extremely helpful in booking us a tour and responsive with any questions we had. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting a cozy place to stay while in Drake Bay.

Outstanding stay in every possible way. Sue and Joe have created an oasis in the jungle. The lodging itself is beautiful and matched the photos but what sets Southern Drakes Lodge apart is the service. We are a family of 5 and never have we felt so taken care of in all our travels. From the moment we booked to when it was time to depart, Sue and Joe took care of every detail from taxis, laundry, tours (thank you Elsa!), amazing meals (Thai and Ellie prepared breakfast and dinner that were as beautiful as they were delicious). Five days was not enough but we all left with a sense of gratitude that we were able to experience the OSA peninsula and stay in such a special place with amazing hosts.

Wir hatten unseren besten Aufenthalt in Costa Rica in dieser Unterkunft. Das Haus ist sehr groß und mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht. Ein großer Vorteil ist die Waschmaschine. Die Wohnung hat mehrere Klimaanlagen, eine gut ausgestattete Küche und bei Bedarf stehen sogar kostenfrei Fahrräder zur Verfügung. Wir können die Unterkunft jeden empfehlen!

We had an amazing stay at Jenn's place in Playa Carbonera, Matapalo. The property is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. Jenn and her family are incredible, warm, kind, and truly welcoming. One of the highlights was surfing right in front of the property at Playa Carbonera. The waves are super fun and accessible, and the view is just breathtaking. I highly recommend waking up early to catch the sunrise, it's on another level. This was such a special experience for us, and we’re 100% coming back!

From my 10 year old… It’s nice because you got to be outside a lot. the beach was awsome, a great part was waking up and walking on the beach at sunrise which was so pretty. The macaws were really cool. It’s kinda scary having it being open and know there are animals out there. (We arrived at night which if you can avoid you should, little hard to navigate the roads for the first time at night) Dad - the nature sounds at night when we arrived were intense and I think kiddo was a little nervous but in the morning all of the nervousness went away. This is a very special place, you are the last house on a very sparsely populated beach (you see nobody for most of the day) there are animals everywhere. It’s very exposed to the elements which might be hard for some but once you settle in you tap into a natural energy that exists in all of us and it is beautiful,

We enjoyed a lovely stay at Raquel’s place during our trip to Drake Bay. The upstairs sitting area was ideal to see the lapas flying around the surroundings and the pool helped in cooling off. Bedrooms were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Hope to stay here again.

We loved staying at Ruth and Michael's. The house is perfect, with a king bed and an equipped kitchen. There is a nice terrace with a BBQ, and the garden is lovely, full of fruits and birds. We saw toucans and macaws while we were there. Ruth and Michael are adorable, very helpful and friendly!

This made for a great little cabina to unwind and relax. Peter's daughter, Alexis, met us there and gave us a run down of things including recommendations of places to go and restaurants and was extremely helpful. The kitchen was well equipped for us to cook our own meals also. Even though we were there during the week, I was a bit skeptical about how private the beach would be, but wow, we saw few people on the beach and then traveled over to Rincón Beach and saw no one there. Even though the dirt road runs right in front, you don't really notice it due to all the trees and plants and the sound of the ocean. It sits just far enough from the beach to have privacy but is close enough to walk right out to it.

La casa está justo al frente del mar, el sonido del mar es increíble que se une con la vida silvestre, es algo increíble poder ver tantos animales y poder tomar une café frente al mar por las mañanas. La casa es toda una experiencia para poder vivir esa vida silvestre. Chicky quien cuida la propiedad es súper atento, muy amable y anuente a ayudar en lo que sea necesario. Lleve su comida y todo lo necesario porque no hay nada cercano para comprar.
