A beautiful place to stay, comfortable, Cheryl was a responsive host, leant us beach/ camp chairs for our visit. The photos don't do the house or surroundings justice, it's a wonderful place to stay. Great neighbourhood, the view of the bay changes all the time , with the tide and the weather, my favourite time of day was at the top of the tide when there was no wind and the bay was like a mirror. Lots to explore , beaches, waterfalls, swimming holes, thermal pools, mountains, gorges. We want to return in 2026, still so many places to explore.

What a beautiful place. Surrounded by nature & beautiful scenery. 5min from the Karangahake car park. The accommodation was exactly like the photos. Very cosy cabin. All the amenities you could need. We loved our stay & would definitly go back.

Recommended. This place is all about the location and the view. We only spent 3 nights over Valentine's Day, but staying a week would have been nice. Once you get there, you don't really want to leave. We made the short drive into town every day, but the scenic / winding drive to Thames can be challenging if there is traffic moving both ways up & down the narrow coastal road.

The place was great for a small family get together. It matched the description and was in a nice cul de sac near the beach

Fantastic property in a great location. Great areas with 2 outdoor spaces and really great en-suite with master bedroom being away from the other 2 bedrooms. Really well setup kitchen and amenities. Would definitely recommend this property and we would stay again. Host responded very quickly and check in made easy.

Stunning. The other reviews have it right: the pictures don’t do justice to the views and the high quality of the accommodations. I’d add that while being off grid and peaceful, all main utilities as advertised were fully functional, not “glamping”: (cooktop, electricity, fast reliable wifi, plumbing, room heating). No A/C but the passive solar design windows worked like a charm for heating and cooling. Every day brought new beauty, interesting wildlife, and fresh-ripened treats from their vibrant garden. And don’t forget to look up at night, no telescope needed. My only note would be to have 4WD or nerves-and-right-foot of steel (or lead) for the steep gravel drive in. I’ve never been to a place quite like this in all my travels. Worth it in every way.

A peaceful, private residence that is easy to find and get into, close to the city but very quiet rural area. Hot tub is perfect and the place very clean, tidy and new fittings. Bed is comfy with good quality sheets!

Absolutely stunning location and sunrise views right from the living room! Walking distance to ferry to Whitianga, a good 30-minute walk to Cooks Beach. Hot Water Beach, Cathedral Cove are an easy 15-20 minute drive. Don't forget to stop by at Coromandel Town on your way and hopp on the tiny train ride there!! Loved it. Will be back. ❤️
