Sophie is a fantastic host who gave great clear instructions and was very responsive to all messages. The house was great for the 6 adults and 2 kids. A beautiful garden and short walk to the beach made this the ideal place for our chill summer holiday.

Lovely funky little batch, well equipped, and just across the road from the beach. Host was absolutely lovely, even walked our boxer for us one morning and let us check out late to fit around a surf life saving comp. Such a lovely accommodating person. Thank you

The house was lovely and spacious and very homely. And we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We loved that the water was uv treated rainwater so no chemicals! It was a nice central spot to go to places like hobbtion, blue springs, tauranga and rotorua. The kids loved it there and I think we'd all be be keen to visit again sometime. It just made our holiday! Thank you so much!

We really enjoyed our time at the property. We loved the space around the house. We spent most of our time in the kitchen or on the front deck. Nice indoor outdoor flow. Beautiful views of nature. We were mostly at festival so enjoyed coming back to the property to relax, recharge. The bathrooms had everything you need, good shower pressure too. I would highly recommend this property as it was very spacous for a group of 6. Saskia was really good to liase with, easy comms. Thanks team for a enjoyable weekend at your airbnb.

Tanya was a great communicator and very lovely to deal with. The house is amazing! The backyard was big and if you have pets you don’t have to worry about it not being secure we felt safe with them running around the entire time. It felt like a home away from home. The master bed was so cosy and comfy. Lounge was beautiful to just sit with a book and look out the window at the amazing view of the forest. Very close to skyline gondola. You can also store car in garage which Tanya very kindly let us use. Thank you Tanya. ☺️

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The place was beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. We especially loved the pool—it was the perfect spot to relax and unwind. The hosts were fantastic—friendly, responsive, and made sure everything was just right. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

great spot and central

My wife and I booked Gabby's and Chris's home (who move out during these rentals), to host a family reunion. We were 3 families, so 6 adults, 1 teenager, and 4 small children. Set in beautiful Kiwi countryside it was super safe for the children. A long drive to a large parking area, was ideal for grandchildren to ride bikes and wheeled toys. Beautiful extensive gardens to roam. The house is spacious, with correct bedrooms, 2 tv areas, & 3 tables big enough for all of us to sit down together (inside, outside deking, & pool area). Chris advised to move the outside tables around for sun or shade as required. The pool was large and clean, fantastic, and essential in the sub tropical climate of the Bay of Plenty. Communication and cooperation with Gabby and Chris was excellent, both before and during our 3 week stay. I believe Whakamarama may be for sale later this year, so holiday now, or an ideal opportunity to acquire this beautiful property either as a home or rental opportunity.

This might sound like a bad review but it is not meant as such. It's so future guests aren't surprised. We enjoyed our stay here immensely. The chalet was perfect for a couple. Nice comfy firm bed, good kitchenette and ensuite. The chalet is on the grounds of a Christian camp facility for horse riding. The grounds are expansive. There's a small lake with kayaks for use. There's a pool with cool water and a very warm open air spa. The grounds themselves are lovely but the pool area needs some aesthetic tidying. The pools are clean and good - they just need their floors painted. They're also amongst what seems to be a semi abandoned construction area. But get past that superficial stuff, the pools are fine for purpose. A dawn spa was delightful. The grounds themselves seem to have 500 unfinished DIY projects on the go. The roads around the facility seem to have been through an artillery barrage so if you have a very low profile car, be wary. Despite the above we LOVED staying here. It was hot weather when we stayed and the room was very warm. In fact it could use a plug-in fan to circulate the air a bit. I totally recommend staying here and when I come back to Rotorua I'd definitely stay here again.

Absolutely magical! Our family had the most incredible stay at this beautiful rural retreat. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the peace and tranquility of It. The views of the water were breathtaking and the stunning sunrises were worth waking up early for. The house itself is spacious and beautifully appointed, with all the modern amenities you could need. We instantly felt at home. The beds were comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep, and the provided coffee was a delightful perk each morning. It was truly a place where you could unwind and reconnect with nature. This property is perfect for families. There was ample space for everyone to spread out and relax, and we found ourselves perfectly content to stay in and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Honestly, you wouldn't need to leave the property unless you wanted to. Thanks for a great stay!

Nicola went above and beyond for me and my friends for my 40th birthday. The house has so much character and so much to do. The tennis court and swimming pool were an added bonus on top of everything else. The house had everything we needed. Great place for everyone to enjoy.

What a great spot! Large family home with a huge pool and lovely views of the countryside and the estuary. A quiet haven in between Tauranga and Kati Kati. Great for a family/ friends stay. Lots of space with multi indoor outdoor spaces, large interconnecting living rooms and central kitchen. Great pool and lots of sleeping options. We only stayed one night as attending a family gathering locally but easily could have happily stayed for a few relaxing days.

We couldn’t have picked a more perfect spot for our mini-moon! From the moment we arrived, we were in love—gorgeous flower gardens, dreamy hydrangeas, and the most charming vintage decor that was so our vibe. Every little detail was thoughtful and welcoming. Our small dog, Hazel, was just as happy as we were, enjoying the peaceful surroundings and exploring the garden. It felt like a cosy, romantic escape while still having all the comforts of home. We truly didn’t want to leave! Love, love, love—would stay again in a heartbeat! 💕✨🐾

We really enjoyed our stay. The house had everything we needed for our holiday. Beach is close by and amazing - went swimming daily. The local shops are a quick walk & have excellent food, coffee & ice cream (which the kids greatly enjoyed). The house was very comfy and clean with a great outside area. The neighbourhood is very quiet and family friendly. Would highly recommend this place for a quiet beach holiday!

Staying at the hobbit hole was so much fun!! You can tell that so much love and attention has been put into the space. It’s quirky, fun, and glamping at its best! Sheryn had everything you’d need for cooking including -firewood/starters, matches, cooking utensils etc! Even marshmallows and drinking chocolate! I wasn’t sure what to expect from this spot but the pictures on AirBnB don’t do it justice! Book it! It was so much fun to stay here!

Our stay at Felicia’s was simply perfect! She took care of us from start to finish, always available and attentive. Her hospitality and kindness made our experience even more enjoyable. Annie & Steve's place has lovely indoor and outdoor living space. The bed is comfortable, and the shower is great. I had everything I needed. I could live in this house not just stay in it for a few days. The garden/avocado orchard created a beautiful and peaceful environment. I thoroughly recommend this place!

A wonderful spot for families! Feed the chickens, a very cool Stage, kids just loved the loft and bunk beds. We would love to return one day.
